Don’t Walk Into The Light

As I slowly stir I hear multiple machines creating a symphony of loud beeps and long quiet blasts of air. As I regain feeling I sense that I am not in my normal jeans. I then realize that I have no pants at all. With a sudden adrenaline rush, I open my eyes and look around, as I do I spot a curtain, some machines, and a chair with my clothes in them. I became quickly confused as to what had happened and why I was in a hospital. As I start to move to get out of the hospital bed a nurse walks in. "You shouldn't be moving in your condition, you were found with a concussion, 3 fractures, and even though you seem to have no trace of injury from this you have been diagnosed with hypothermia." As the nurse finishes his sentence I try to stand, the moment I do the nurse calls for a doctor. As she comes in through the curtain I rush out of my room grabbing my clothes as I run. I hear a commotion behind me. However, as the sound gets louder I know better than to turn back. I burst through the doors and sprint into the nearest ally. As I continue to run I feel my lungs get heavy and I start to tire out. I quickly realized that there were still drugs in my system keeping my power suppressed and keeping me drowsy. As I stumble into the nearest wall I see a silhouetted shadow fall over me. Unlike the other shadows I am used to at this point this one doesn't send me falling to my death. As I take a closer look I see that this shadow wasn't inanimate but was a person in dark clothing. As I look closer I see a person with pink hair."My name is Tiana and I need you to come with me." I start to feel uneasy as the person steps out of the shadows. When Tiana leaves the cover of shadows I get a good look at her, pink hair, short, and armed with multiple throwing knives. I start to scootch away from her before she says something that catches me off guard. "Your friend is in jail and if you want to see them again I need you to come with me." I hear that and my memory starts to clear, I remember my dad, the fall, the blood, and the last sounds of sirens. "My best friend is in danger, so you will help me get to them" I try to stand, my knees weak, shaking, and unsteady. "Just know this, if this is a trap I will not hesitate on ending you, you don't use friendship as a snare." As I finally stand up straight I look her in the eye. Tiana then says, "I wouldn't do that, now before I take you to your friend someone very important wants to meet you, but before that, you might wanna get dressed." I am shockingly and embarrassingly reminded of how unclothed I am, my hospital gown blowing in the wind. Embarrassed and softly I say "I know we all are mature here but can you turn around so I can get decent, please?" As she turns around I dress as speedily as a slightly drugged person can before notifying Tiana it was ok to look again. "Now that you're dressed are you ready for your meeting? I nodded unsure of what awaits me. Tiana then hits a button on her belt, almost immediately after a bright light flashes in front of us before stabilizing into a glowing 2-D dome door shape constructed of nothing but light. With no door handle and no bell to ring, Tiana tells me to follow her before walking into the light and disappearing. A feeling of dread comes over me before I stick my arm in. Unlike the rest of my body, my arm instantly becomes warm upon its disappearance. I try to retract my arm but before I could remove it I am dragged through.
