"Damn it they got away", I muttered under my breath. I had tucked away in an alley in order to hide from the cops. "My boss isn't going to like this", I said as I quickly ducked through the city alleyways. I finally make it to the GATS building and go in through the back entrance. As soon as I walk in I hear "PRIVATE, The Boss wants to see you in his office". People in my squad have nicknamed the flight of stairs leading up to the boss's office the "Walk of Death", and it's a very fitting title. The sheer dread you feel walking up those steps could kill a man under the right circumstances. "Close the door and sit down", the boss says as I walk in. "You do realize you have let a high-value target escape, right?". "Yes Sir!", I say standing rigid. "And you also realize I could fire you on the spot for this little... mishap", says the boss in a threatening yet quiet tone. "Yes Sir", I say. "But, I am not going to do that.", he says, "Because I consider you an asset of importance, I will give you a second chance." "Yes Sir thank you Sir", I say in a cheery tone. "But", the boss says "Fail me again and I will see to it that you are put on the street, Is that clear?" "Yes sir I understand Sir!", I say. "Now get out of my office", says the boss as I start to leave. I head to the equipment room to freshen up and change my equipment. "No more mercy", I think to myself, "This kid is mine..."
