The Talk (Jinsol Special)

Jinsol has hit a rut.

It’s been four years and trust her, she knows that she should be more grateful that their group found success so early in their career but now it's just not exciting anymore.

Even when she was stressed out, stomach in knots, sleep deprived from the two hours of sleep she got and wished for a break, at least there was some drive to it. Now when she doesn't have any work, Jinsol doesn’t know what to do with herself.

She didn’t like being home alone but didn’t like going out. She was burnt out from going to her company building because of how many hours she spent in the practice room alone. And although each day was different, everything just felt so repetitive.

Each variety show she was on was different but literally the same. The same five hosts who take things too far when asking Jinsol to show something new. The uncomfortable jokes about how great she would look with some guy and purposely putting them on the same team. Oh but God forbid her when she refuses to give out her number after the show and he takes it personally, like she willingly wanted to be paired with him in the first place.

That was the most disappointing part of her celebrity life. Finding out someone she idolized while she was a trainee ending up being gross or a total sleaze. The it couple’s always cheating on each other and the friends who end up selling their personal information to make some fast cash.

It was wearing her out fast and she’s scared to get out of it. She doesn’t want to disappoint Jungeun or Yerim by voicing out what she really thought. She doesn’t want to break up their group especially while they were at their peak and a contract renewal in three years.

Or her fans.

Jinsol doesn’t want them to be sad or angry because she loved them even if they made her life more difficult. She hates to admit as much as she loved the good batch there were still tons that made her fume or left her in tears by how excessive they were-

“Anyone else hungry?”

“I’m starving.” Yerim takes a seat next to her on the floor while looking at Jungeun.

Jinsol snaps out of her thoughts after staring off into space and looks at Jungeun’s reflection through their practice room mirror “I’m hungry too.” she looks around the floor to find her phone and looks at the time, it was too late to order in. “I think it’s too late for anything to be open.”

Jungeun runs a hand through her sweaty hair and closes her eyes “What about that store down the street? It’s open 24/7, I’m sure there’s something there.”

Yerim perks up at this, all this talk is making her more hungry. The only thing she’s eaten today was an apple and a smoothie “Ramen! We should get ramen!”

Okay, now Jinsol’s mouth was watering. She shoots Jungeun a look “Rock, paper, scissors it?”

They agree and stick their hands out.

Crap. I shouldn’t have suggested it.

Jinsol makes a strangled noise and knocks the back of her head against the wall.

The walk going up, just to come back down the stairs because their practice room was in the basement was going to be a pain.

Jungeun extends her arm out for her to take and Jinsol grabs it. They both groan when she gets pulled up and Jinsol stretches. She grabs her hat and puts the strings of her face mask behind her ears “I’ll be back.”

The walk was nice (not including those darn stairs), it was a little breather. Before she enters the 7 Eleven, Jinsol pulls her mask over her face and walks in. It was really late but she had to take precautions in case she gets recognized and then that would really be a problem.

She just needs to buy the food and go.

Coming in at this time was great because no one in their right mind would come in so late. It was only her and the cashier in the store.

Jinsol tries to avoid looking at them, not wanting to draw too much attention to herself. She shuffles through the isles, wanting to grab more than just ramen but decides not to because it should just be something quick to eat. The trio’s faces were going to be bloated after eating so late already.

She feels a gaze on her back and Jinsol gives a quick glance at the cashier, who immediately turns her attention elsewhere.

This makes her a little nervous, Jinsol can never guess if someone is absolutely bat shit crazy or...normal. She doesn’t dwell on the ramen bowls and picks out three completely random brands.

She doesn’t lift her head when she checks out and kinda regrets it the next day because this girl was so cute. “Wow, did you already finish the ones from yesterday?”

Jinsol can’t help but laugh, it wasn’t funny by any means but when a cute girl smiles at Jinsol her embarrassment kicks in out of nervousness. So she laughs and takes a quick look at the girl’s name tag “Yeah, kind of. Me and my….” oh, maybe she shouldn’t say this or really be talking about her group. “..friends are working late and we got hungry.”

There’s this uneasiness that comes back.

There’s some more small talk and no matter how many times she tried to keep her head down, her eyes would trail back up to catch another glance at this extremely attractive cashier.

In her line of work, Jinsol has worked with models, singers and actresses but holy crap she is so so so cute. The worker was easy to talk to and Jinsol doesn’t really get to experience a genuine conversation like that anymore.

So Jinsol tries to act cool or pretend she isn’t at least scared talking to a pretty girl. She even adds a little unintentional flirting at the end to add a little dazzle.

“What are you smiling about?” Haseul asks her in their waiting room. They were guests on a show together along with Jungeun and Heejin.

“Huh?” Jinsol says and gives her an innocent eyebrow raise , turning her head away from her.

Haseul squints her eyes and moves her face closer “I don’t know, you just look all smiley over there.”

There’s yelling coming from Jungeun, followed by a laugh from Heejin that makes both of them look their way.

“What? No.” Jinsol says before looking over the script of questions and topics that they were going to be talking about later in the show.

The short haired girl leans back into her seat and crosses her arms “I don’t know, you just seem like you're in an extremely good mood.” She needed whatever Jinsol was having.

“Uh well, I woke up in a good mood.” Jinsol plays off. Eyes glancing back at the pair being goofy, using different filters that had Heejin cracking up and Jungeun whining about the younger making her look ugly.

Haseul is okay with the answer given and cracks a smile at the other two, wanting to join them. “You want to go bother them?” Jinsol asks, getting up from her seating and nodding her head in their direction.

-

The cashier was very persuasive. And maybe a little good at bribing information out. Food was her weak spot and usually Jinsol wasn’t so desperate for convenience store roadkill but she hasn’t eaten anything greasy in weeks.

“You see! It’s not fair that you know my name because of my name tag. Isn’t it weird that you come in every time, greeting me but I can’t say it back?” The shorter one gave her a look that was hard to ignore.

Jinsol looks at the machine, the rollers turning clockwise with sausages keeping warm under the light bulb. It was extremely tempting since she hasn’t been eating well.

“Ahhh…” she took a deep breath after much consideration “But I’m on a diet…”

Jiwoo makes a face of disbelief and her reaction was kinda funny. She says something along the lines of her not needing to be on a diet, marches over and shoves one of the sausages in her hand.

It was too good for Jinsol not to tell her name and now when she comes into the store, Jiwoo smiles brightly at her and says “Hey Jinsol.” Jinsol can’t help but smile back every time she does this.

“Hey, I’ll go get some drinks.” Jinsol awkwardly points at the door, hoping her friends wouldn’t notice her constantly trying to leave the practice room.

Yerim looks at her confused, why was she trying to get some drinks? They still had a full jug of water that they refilled an hour ago “We got water?” She says with a little laugh, thinking Jinsol was being weird.

“Uh, different drinks.”

Jungeun finally got off her phone, standing up because her butt was feeling sore from sitting down for too long. “I actually want a snack so I’ll go with you.”

Jinsol looks at her quietly, trying to think of a way for Jungeun not to go with her. She loved her friends and all but she really liked her alone time with Jiwoo. She would not be able to flirt with her crush with Jungeun and Yerim there because she’d get too embarrassed.

Jungeun gives her a questioning frown, Jinsol was being more awkward than normal “What?”

“Nothing!” Jinsol squeaks and turns around first, making a face to herself on how screwed she was.

“Wait for me! I’m coming too.” Yerim rushes to grab her wallet.

Great….more company.

The walk was slow and all Jinsol could think about was how badly this was going to go. She’s scared that Jiwoo is going to think she’s acting strange because she can’t bring it upon herself to reciprocate the back and forth flirting that barely became a thing between them.

If that was flirting.

Well flirting from Jinsol’s side, Jiwoo might just be acting nice or something. Not that it really mattered, she kinda knows that she won’t ever be able to go further than flirting with the girl.

Yerim crosses an arm with Jinsol “What’s wrong?” She bumps into her shoulder. Jinsol shakes her head, nothing was wrong she was just getting a little nervous. Yerim gives a look to Jungeun, who understands and grabs a hold of Jinsol’s other arm “Are you sure?”

“Yeah I’m good, fine, great!” She smiles and oh my god they’re about to enter through the door.

The trio walk through, that same bell ringing and Jinsol immediately pushes her friends off of her. Jiwoo finds this funny for some reason and she returns the smile.

“Hey Jiwoo.” Jinsol can’t help but get all smiley when she’s around her crush.

They talk for a moment and Jiwoo hands her another sausage before they get interrupted by her group mates “Is that why you’re always offering to get the snacks? Because the pretty worker gives you free sausages? That’s so messed up.”

She forgets that they even came with her after being distracted for like a minute. She ignores Yerim because she’s too embarrassed and hides it by eating the sausage that Jiwoo gave her.

And Jiwoo being the sweetheart that she is, offers some to her friends. They both look apprehensive about accepting but Jinsol urges them to take it because she doesn’t want them to reject Jiwoo’s thoughtfulness.

“Ooooh if we’re doing first name bases then you can just call me Yerim.” Yerim smiles brightly.

“Jungeun.” the other girl gives a friendly smile before turning to Jinsol “At least now I know why Jinsol is always insisting on doing a snack run.”

“I know! That sausage was so good.”

“I wasn’t talking about the sausage Yerim….” Jinsol nudges Jungeun with her elbow and her face turns a lighter shade of pink. She cannot believe Jungeun just did her like that.

She rushes them to leave before they can embarrass her any further and promises she’ll meet them back at the company. She does everything she can not to look at Jungeun as they leave.

Jinsol feels like she can breathe again once the pair leave out the door with drinks in their hands, not before Jungeun throws her another look.

Her relief doesn’t last long before she remembers why she was so nervous in the first place. She was going to ask Jiwoo for her number and the thought of asking was intimidating.

So the first thing she mentions is her going out of the country and then asks for her number, hoping it would give a better reason why Jiwoo absolutely needs her number.

The moment Jiwoo leans over the counter and starts whispering her number, Jinsol blushes and panics over not being able to memorize the number without typing it in her phone.

She walks back to her company’s building, thinking about how she just got Jiwoo’s number. Did she mention that she got Jiwoo’s number? Because she did, just in case you didn’t read that right.

Jinsoul should’ve known that Jungeun would say something to her as soon as she walked back into their practice room “So.” She raises an eyebrow and a teasing smile quirking up “That cashier girl, huh?”

The older groans and shuts the door behind her “Don’t even start.”

“She was really nice.” Yerim says, not really looking at any of them but rather fixing her hair with the large mirror.

Jinsol wants this conversation to stop because she knows that her group mates know. She wants to regret going to visit Jiwoo tonight but she can’t say she isn’t relieved now that she doesn’t have to keep making excuses for her to go to the store.

“Yeah, she really is.” she mumbles and tries to fix her own ponytail out of nervousness.

“She was really cool about seeing us, too. I mean I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. She’s seen your face plenty of times for it to be shocking anymore.”

Jinsol hides her face in her hands and makes a noise “Can we please stop talking about this?”

“Stop talking about you having the hots for the 7Eleven girl? Yeah, good try.” Yerim laughs at Jungeun, having too much fun by how much the girl was teasing Jinsol. It wasn’t a hard thing to do in the first place.

“But you know not to….”

Jinsol doesn’t even have to listen to the rest of that to know that Jungeun is saying not to go any further than flirting.

But she really really really thinks that Jiwoo is nice and attractive that it’s hard to not want more than that. She is starting to look forward to going to bed so she can wake up, go to work and sneak off to go visit her small crush.

“Too bad we’re about to leave.” Yerim replies “Now you won’t see her in a while.”

“Oh, I gave her my number.” Jinsol smiles, excited all by herself.

“Seriously? I just said-“

-

Yerim could not stop talking about Jiwoo to the point that Jungeun couldn’t even argue about it. Jungeun even concludes that there’s no way that Jiwoo has a bad bone in her body after hearing about how awesome and sweet she was.

Jinsol has a smug smile and runs her hand through her now blonde hair. They were filming their new music video in California in two days.

Jungeun bumps her shoulder softly and looks around the room, making sure they were alone “Hey, so I’ve been thinking..”

Jinsol hums and grabs her phone immediately once she hears it vibrate. She’s been texting Jiwoo non stop and it made her happy that Jiwoo was just as fast in regards to texting back fast.

Jungeun looks down and quickly glances at who she was texting before looking away because she didn’t want to get caught being nosey “About that little cashier girl.”

“You guys are the same age.”

“Oh really?”

“Yeah.” Jinsol puts her phone down “Why? What’s up?”

Jungeun leans her back into the wall “I was just thinking, well you’re grown and it was kinda out of line for me to say who you can and cannot date.”

Jinsol’s phone vibrates again and Jungeun ignores it “I just want you to know that I did it out of concern for you. I don’t want anyone taking advantage of you and it backfiring on you. Especially if an article comes out that you’re dating…” a girl.

Jinsol looks down and kicks at the ground, she was starting to feel uncomfortable and didn’t know what to do with her body.

This was supposed to be heartfelt talk coming from Jungeun but all Jinsol could think about was how she’d rather be anywhere but here.

“Jiwoo….she seems sweet.” Jungeun bumps her foot with Jinsol’s “Only if you’re sure that this isn’t going to go bad…” there’s a pause “I say go for it.”

Jinsol stops moving her foot around and rests it beside Jungeun’s. She couldn’t believe that Jungeun was actually urging her to date.

There wasn’t a dating ban anymore but there was still a risk of getting found out. A scandal like this would definitely hurt their career.

“You deserve it.” Jungeun lifts her back off the wall and starts to walk away.

“Hey Jungeun.” Jinsol makes sure that her friend is listening “Thank you. It means a lot.”

-

She was only forty percent sure that Jiwoo was going to say yes. They flirted a lot, yes. They sent each other cute emojis, sure. Jinsol’s body twists into herself  and Jiwoo always leans in to touch her, of course.

But what if she didn’t like her like that.

Jinsol decided that if Jiwoo looked at her funny then she would laugh it off as a friend date and then be upset about it in her bed later.

Color her surprised when Jiwoo takes the flower and agrees. There was small hope coming from Jinsol but she didn’t think that there was actually a possibility of Jiwoo saying yes.

There was so much planning and outfit changes that night. Jinsol was blowing up her group chat with Jungeun and Yerim about what looked nice. The two were at their own schedules and Jinsol was freaking out by the lack of help.

They were so slow at replying back that she decides to confide in an outside source.

Me:

do u think this looks cute?

oh yeah

no where 😯

Jinsol takes Jiwoo to her favorite restaurant and they hit it off. Everything felt really easy with the younger and their conversation flowed throughout the dinner. It was probably the best date that she has ever had.

The blonde is laying on her stomach in their waiting room couch, hogging it all to herself and kicking her feet like some school girl crush.

“I’m taking the date went well.” Yerim laughs and squishes herself in between Jinsol and the arm rest. “Did you guys, you know.”

Jinsol thins out her lips trying to contain a smile “What?” She decides to play dumb and puts her phone down.

Yerim squeals “Oh my god, you totally did!” She shakes Jinsol’s body out of excitement.

“Okay, yeah we did.”

The date went so well that Jinsol got a kiss at the end of the night. It was all she could think about before she went to bed because she was getting excited and hyped up at the thought of it.

When she’d close her eyes, her mind went straight to the thought of Jiwoo standing in front of her, looking so so pretty and Jinsol’s face blushes at how not cool she was being while wanting a kiss.

She pulls the blanket over her face and kicks her feet in excitement. Once she calms down, her mind trails back to that kiss and starts to feel embarrassed again.

There was a lot of tossing and turning that night because she couldn’t wait to text her good morning the next day.

“Are you going to see her again?” Yerim leans in, loving this talk about the blonde’s love life. Gossiping was so exciting for her, especially when it’s the good kind.

Jinsol nods and sits up to make room for Yerim to sit comfortably. “It was great and I felt like she really wanted to know me for me. Well I mean, she’s always treated me like I wasn’t a celebrity so it’s just really nice.”

It was nice.

-

It didn’t take long for the two to be official girlfriends and with that being said, Jinsol could not take her hands off her girlfriend.

It was honestly one of the things she thought about often when she was around Jiwoo. She wanted to hold her hand, hand wrapped around her waist, cuddles, kisses, she wanted all that with her girlfriend. It wasn’t all she thought about but she couldn’t help but wanting to get a little intimate.

She was never like this before and it mostly came about because she actually had someone to fantasize about doing these things with. And Jinsol could not get Jiwoo out of her head.

Jinsol would blame it on being repressed for a long time. She’s had a couple flings here and there, okay like maybe two people but she was too scared of getting caught so it didn’t last long.

And oh my god, that night that Jinsol lent Jiwoo her shorts and all Jinsol could stare at was her legs. Not to sound like a creep but she often thought about Jiwoo that night.

What’s even worse is that even when she was in the middle of a radio interview with Sunny, all she could think about was Jiwoo. About how she couldn’t wait to text Jiwoo back, asking Jiwoo what she ate, how her day went and how much she missed her.

Wait.

Jiwoo loves Girls’ Generation.

Oh yeah, Jinsol was about to be the best girlfriend ever.

Jinsol waited until the end of the show to walk up to the superstar. She was really intimidated because HELLO??? It’s SUNNY. But she ended up being nice and signed for Jiwoo.

The blonde couldn’t wait to send her girlfriend a picture of the signature. She tried waiting it out to surprise Jiwoo but she’s so bad at keeping secrets that Jinsol sends the picture immediately.

“I think I’m going to tell the girls.” she says while sitting in their group van. They had just got done performing at a music festival and were taking off their makeup in the car because they knew they’d be too tired once they got home. “I want them to meet her.”

Jungeun is rubbing her eye shadow off “Who?”

“Haseul, Vivi, Heejin and Hyunjin. I think they’d like her.”

Yerim throws her cotton pad at Jinsol “Like her? They’re going to love her. She’s literally the nicest person ever and gives us free snacks.”

Jinsol smiles to herself, Jiwoo really made a good first impression that has forever stayed with Yerim. Food really winning the younger’s heart.

“Do you think it’ll be weird?”

Yerim makes a face “Weird? They already know that you’re….” Yerim makes a gesture with her hand “I don’t think it’ll be weird unless you make it weird.”

Don’t make it weird.

Jinsol takes the advice and runs with it, the first person she tells is Hyunjin. Hyunjin was probably the closest to her so it’s only right. Jinsol thought it was a good time to tell her. She already tested the waters with Jiwoo and it’s been a couple of months already. Jinsol would like to think they were starting off serious about each other so she feels more comfortable telling her friends.

It wouldn’t just be a fling or a scare that Jiwoo was just messing around with her and would snitch her out to the press.

At first, when she told her friend Hyunjin thought she was joking at first and didn’t believe her so Jinsol had to bust out some pictures. It took a lot of convincing but it seemed like Hyunjin finally believed her.

Next it was Vivi and Haseul, they were eating at her place while Jiwoo was at school. After getting a good reaction from Hyunjin, Jinsol felt good about telling these two and casually said it while picking up her slice of pizza.

“That’s why you asked me about your outfit!” Haseul half yells and almost drops her drink out of her hand.

Vivi looks at Haseul confused but doesn’t question it. She’ll just wait until they spill the beans and she hopes she can fit some pieces together to figure out what the two were talking about. Haseul and Jinsol always had unfinished sentences that only they understood.

Jinsol awkwardly smiles “Yeah, actually that was for our first date.”

“You’re so evil for that!” Haseul laughs and Vivi grabs a napkin to give to her friend, the crust crumbs were getting everywhere.

“Can we meet her? What did you say her name was? Jiwoo?” Vivi leans back against the leg of the sofa, she ate too much and seriously needed a nap.

“Her name is Jiwoo and yeah I want you guys to meet her. I mean I really like her and want you guys to get along .”

“We should set something up.” Haseul wipes the table and pushes the crumbs to the edge of the table.

They discuss a good day to introduce each other, it was just really hard since ⅓ was in the middle of promotions. They were having to go off their schedule and then Jinsol was trying to match Jiwoo’s class and work schedule on top of hers.

Heejin already knew about it before Jinsol could even tell her anything. Jinsol also knows she must’ve heard from Hyunjin.

“It wasn’t her fault!” Heejin waves her hands like she was caught doing something she wasn’t supposed to “She thought I already knew and mentioned going on Saturday.”

Jinsol honestly really wasn’t all too upset about it, it saved her the speech she practiced saying before meeting up with her friend. But she kinda wondered what they talked about after, wanting to know what she thought about her new relationship.

“You know, I thought you were a lot happier these days. Now I know why.” Heejin laughs and Jinsol feels herself starting to blush. “You dating someone was something I wasn’t expecting.”

“Will you be able to make it? I talked to Vivi earlier and she said that you guys didn’t have a schedule.” Jinsol furrows her eyebrows “I know that it’s your only day off this week so I get it if you don’t want to come.”

Heejin grabs her coffee and takes a sip from it “Miss something like this? Besides Hyunjin said she’s pretty, is she pretty?”

Jinsol cracks a smile “The prettiest.” And winks, Heejin pretends like what she said was the grossest thing she’s heard.

She didn’t think she’d be as nervous as she was on the drive to Jiwoo’s place. She knew that they were going to love her girlfriend because who wouldn’t? But there was always that small insecurity in the back of her head that maybe they wouldn’t get along.

Jinsol wanted them to love each other because honestly….she’d probably listen to what her friends thought of Jiwoo. They could see what Jinsol’s love goggles couldn’t, her group of friends always looked out for her best interest.

“Hey, baby.” Jiwoo says when enters her car, leaning in to peck Jinsol’s cheek and holds up a bag “I got you something.”

Jinsol immediately leans into the touch and melts, it was the small acts of affection that got her. It takes her a minute to react to what Jiwoo says and looks at the bag in her hand.

She doesn’t know why she even had a second thought about this girl and it proves once she opens the gift. Jiwoo paid attention to when she said she was cold and got her a scarf to stay warm.

Jinsol looked genuinely touched at the small gesture, her eyes going soft and she pulled Jiwoo in for a small kiss on the lips “Thank you, baby. I’ll wear it when I go to the airport next time.”

When they get there, the first thing Jinsol notices is that they were missing a pair. Where was Haseul and Vivi?

After getting settled, she feels it’s best to get the introductions over with so it doesn’t get weird too fast. Don’t make it weird. “Jiwoo, this is Hyunjin and Heejin, my friends. Guys this is Jiwoo my-“ Jinsol doesn’t ever finish the sentence but instead shoots them a look that they seem to understand.

They give her a small awkward wave and Jinsol didn’t expect them to be so awkward. Heejin seemed the most excited but now she was acting shy. It was kind of funny to see but Jinsol didn’t want it to stay this way.

“Vivi and Haseul got caught up with another schedule last minute so they couldn’t make it.” Heejin says and Jinsol looked a little upset that they couldn’t make it but understood. It was a shame but they could always make up for it.

It took some time but Jiwoo got along with them perfectly, at least in Jinsol’s opinion. It helped that Jungeun and Yerim didn’t let Jiwoo feel alone, not that Jinsol let it happen either. But it was nice that she didn’t just have Jinsol.

And Jinsol knows she shouldn’t feel so needy while her girlfriend was right beside her but Jinsol wanted to be touching her. So she would rest her leg against Jiwoo’s and nudge her foot every once in a while.

The night ends when Jinsol decides that everyone had enough for the night. Mainly Jungeun because as much as she liked to claim that she wasn’t drunk, she was in fact too drunk to keep her eyes open.

“I don’t know if I told you this already…” Yerim bumps her shoulder with Jinsol’s as they walk back to her car “but I think you picked a good one.”

“I think so too.”

-

Jinsol rolls her head around the chair as she leans back into it. She was already done with her hair and make up but was so bored waiting around for her friends to be ready.

Jiwoo was asleep and this is how Jinsol spent most of her time. She was either meeting up with her, texting her or thinking about how she couldn’t wait until the next time she got to see her.

But since her girlfriend was too sleepy to stay up any longer there was nothing for her to do.

It’s gotten to the point where she’ll go back to reread their old messages because she was too excited. Jinsol smiles at the funny ones and her chest has a weird tingling feeling with the flirty ones.

She was in so deep with this girl and Jinsol doesn’t think she’s ever been this giddy with someone before. It’s been months already and she still feels the same way when she first met Jiwoo.

Jinsol flinches when Yerim makes a comment “You are so gross.”

The older locks her phones, embarrassed that she got caught being so love sick. She didn’t even hear her come in and does not need to hear the teasing coming from the youngest.

“What?” She decides to play dumb.

Yerim was done with makeup and was waiting for her next turn for hair. “Nothing.” She has a knowing smile growing but decided not to tease Jinsol anymore than she already has.

The oldest is definitely happy that it was Yerim who caught her otherwise Jungeun wouldn’t let her hear the end of it. There was more teasing considering she was the only one in their group that was dating right now.

Yerim takes a seat next to her and Jinsol closes her eyes, resting them for a moment. She should probably catch up on some sleep but her mind kept drifting off. It was getting harder to find some time to text Jiwoo, who was asleep for at least ten hours of her day and Jinsol who had a ton of schedules during the times when Jiwoo would be up.

“Did you read over the script?” Yerim mumbled, her own tiredness hitting before they went to their second schedule of the day.

“I skimmed through it but not really. Why? Did you?”

“No, I haven’t” Yerim pauses for a moment “But I saw that fromis is supposed to be there.”

Jinsol tries to hide her discomfort and keeps her eyes closed. Okay she kinda maybe messed around with a member from that group. Their promotions overlapped during music shows and a lot of waiting room visits later. It wasn’t anything serious but she did get dumped.

She wasn’t hurt about it since they technically weren’t even dating but Jinsol did get awkward anytime they were in the same room together. Her group mates did know about this, often covering for her but it did nothing to ease the weird tension around them.

“That’s just….great.”

This earns a laugh from Yerim “No need to get all excited. I don’t even think she’s gonna be there. I think it’s only three members going.”

Yerim is a liar. A stinking liar.

Saerom is standing next to her, along with two boy group members. Jungeun gives her a look, a twinkle in her eyes witnessing Jinsol’s poor luck.

This would happen to her.

But they were both professional about it, acting like they were close friends when the MC mentioned them hanging out before and even shows everyone a picture of them that Saerom posted a long time ago.

“We don’t hang out that much because we’re both homebodies” Saerom laughs off the picture “We keep saying we’re gonna hang out but we don’t.”

The MC is thrilled, or acts like he is to get a good reaction “Ah, so you both don’t like leaving your rooms?”

Saerom smiles as Jinsol continues the lie “We always make plans but when the day comes up we both don’t text each other about it”

This makes the rest of the guests laugh at how relatable they were. Jinsol claps, laughing at herself and trying to make herself look as natural as she could. She’s glad that Saerom handled the situation herself.

They continue the topic before moving on to the next segment. Playing a couple of games, that Jungeun managed to win them a new blender.

She couldn’t wait for this to be over.

It’s hard juggling the time to see Jiwoo or text her. They were working with their own different schedules that never seemed to match. Jinsol obviously felt bad and she knows that most of the time it was her having to cancel.

She was getting sad that she was making her girlfriend sad. Jinsol tried a lot to make the time and she’s starting to think that Jiwoo doesn’t understand just how much she was trying to make it work.

She tried to text her in between her schedule.

Facetime her when she could in the van.

Jinsol knows it's not the same as seeing her in person but this was the busiest time of her promotions so it’s not like she isn’t trying not to see her girlfriend. She just can’t.

She thought she could make it up to Jiwoo, by giving her those concert tickets although she wished she could’ve gotten her better seats. Jinsol doesn’t know why she thought it would solve the problem as Jiwoo kept getting upset with her for the smallest things.

And Jinsol doesn’t know how to make it right. Or why she should be the one making it right.

When she was in their van, she used to think back on how great their relationship was going but now she sits in the back with another denied FaceTime call from Jiwoo.

She messed up, she knows. This was the fifth time canceling on her and although she tries to fight off the thoughts of ‘she went into this relationship knowing I’d be busy with promotions’.

Her mood was obviously soured and everyone in the room could tell. She wasn’t trying to make everyone uncomfortable with her mood swings but she couldn’t help it. She wasn’t in a good mood and tried to hide it but couldn’t.

She knows that Jungeun and Yerim want to ask her about it but decide not to. It wasn’t any of their business and Jinsol’s glad that they respect their relationship enough not to ask about it.

She just hoped the backstage passes would ease Jiwoo a little.

⅓’s concert was tonight and she wished she could surprise Jiwoo by being there with her but she had a schedule today. She wanted to make up with the younger so she wouldn’t have this strained twist in her stomach when they argued.

Her schedule felt long and when it was over they got informed that the company would be celebrating her friend's success concert. Normally she would be excited but she just wasn’t in the mood for this.

Jinsol also wasn’t one to drink the night before a schedule but she was kinda dragged into it. Maybe she needed this to stop thinking about whatever was going on with her relationship.

It didn’t work.

Now she was getting a little emotional. Jinsol couldn’t stop thinking about how sad Jiwoo must be dating her. She probably wasn’t happy and Jinsol hated how it was because of her. That she was the reason why she wore a frown.

Her eyes get teary and she tries to blink them away. She was drunk and didn’t want to look pathetic in front of everyone at the table.

Jiwoo was going to break up with her soon. She just knows it.

Jinsol pulls out her phone to text Jiwoo back, hoping that she was still awake. The blonde doesn’t want Jiwoo to break up with her, she loves her too much.

Another shot or two and thirty minutes later, she doesn’t know how she’s still up. Her head was nodding off and her vision was slowed and blurry.

The next thing she knew, Jinsol was in Yerim’s arms and against the wall like they were waiting for something. She was led to a car and stumbled the whole way to it. And she slumps into the seat

The drive felt long and she looked at the driver, her head still a little fuzzy so she tried to concentrate. She couldn’t believe it. The girl she’s been thinking about all this time was right here, sitting next to her.

She feels herself getting emotional again. Jiwoo was here to break up with her.

Jiwoo brings her to her room and Jinsol couldn’t help but croak out “I love you.” She says hoarsely and closes her heavy eyelids. “I’m sorry.”

“I’m sorry. I love you, too. We’ll...we’ll talk about this in the morning…”

They were okay. More than okay and now Jinsol feels a little embarrassed because of all the overreacting she had done.

They went on their date finally and it felt like they never fought in the first place. Jinsol was a lot happier too and was always smiling whenever she received a text message from Jiwoo.

Jiwoo was always calling to baby her and tell her how much she loved her. Jiwoo tried staying up later just so they could talk a little more. Jinsol really thinks that she’s the one for her.

And no one comments about her 180 mood swap, saving her the embarrassment of explaining why she was in a bad mood in the first place.

Jinsol is happy that Jungeun even thought of inviting Jiwoo to her birthday gathering. She really felt like their completely different lives were finally merging.

They had a talk to clarify their concerns and fears about their relationship and came out feeling better after talking about it. They came to the same page about furthering the future of their relationship.

This is the happiest Jinsol has felt in a while. And she doesn’t think anything could tear their relationship apart now.

Her phone vibrates and heart swells once she sees that it’s a message from her lovely girlfriend.
