Summary
*on hiatus*In many universes, Midoriya Izuku is only seen as the second coming of All Might. In this Universe, Izuku has grown tired of all the Villan attacks and has something of a wake-up call after the Stain incident in Hosu. Deciding they have been focusing on all the wrong things and taking Gran's advice to heart. They have stopped focusing on being like All Might and have instead focused on how to be a good hero, and help their friends. This unfortunately has the side effect of both scaring and impressing his teachers, gaining his classmate's admiration, and attracting unwanted attention from the League of Villians. Also it makes them a bit of a sassy little shit.
Note
Yo, I have another story with three chapters that are already written, and working on a fourth. I'm going to post the first two now and the second two after I clean this up. Also, this will be my first time writing a genderfluid character so hopefully, I don't mess anything up. After I finish writing/editing the other two chapters for this I'm going to continue working on my other stories. hopefully, soon I can finish some of my current ones. Also, I do not own My hero academia.

Maybe I was Never Quirkless

Izuku winced as she was slammed into the ground by her teacher for the umpteenth time. Her teacher wasn’t holding back, and Izuku wondered if maybe he was taking some of his frustrations out on her.

“I’m not taking my frustrations out on you. You’re still learning how to fight properly. You’re doing better than most of the people I’ve taught though.” He jabbed her in the arm again, forcing her to wince.

“I spoke out loud again, didn’t I?” She rubbed at her sore arm.

In an attempt to deter her mutterings, Aizawa would either lightly jab her in the arm if they were sparing; if they weren’t, he’d make her practice the Kata’s he taught her.

“So…does that Include Shinsou?” She asked cheekily.

“How did you know I was teaching him,” Aizawa asked in astonishment.

“I wasn’t sure, but I saw him following you before our Internships, and I’ve noticed he’s gotten stronger. I’m guessing he wants to go into underground heroics.” Izuku fell back into stance, waiting for her teacher to attack.

“He’s not even in the heroics course, yet you seem to think it’s guaranteed he’ll end up a hero.” Aizawa aimed a jab for her stomach.

“He’ll be a hero, especially if you’re the one teaching him.” She said, confidently blocking his jab and aiming a kick for his side.

Aizawa grabbed her leg and flipped her back onto the mat, pinning her in place. Izuku struggled to get up, but he just pressed harder onto her back. Finally, she gave up the fight. Aizawa got off her and offered her a hand up.

“Do you happen to have a packet for him as well?” Aizawa asked, pulling her up.

“No, but I can make one. I would like to help with his training too. It may help to have someone closer to his age to spar with.” She fidgeted with the hem of her tank top as she talked.

“I was planning on training the two of you after school together when we returned from camp,” Aizawa grunted in answer leading her to Tiger.

“Aizawa, I take it this is the kitten who needs to work on her flexibility and thinking skills while she fights,” Tiger yelled.

“Yep, she’s all yours for the next couple of hours, then she’s headed to Ragdoll.” Aizawa grinned before abandoning his student to her fate.

Izuku gulped in fear. She knew how rough Tiger’s training could be. She had seen a video before, and it was kind of scary.

“GET TO IT,” Tiger yelled, swiping a paw at her.

Izuku barely dodged, thinking, ‘This is going to be a long couple of hours.’

Time skip

Izuku groaned as she popped her muscles before falling onto the grassy hill. Tiger had worked her over, to where her body felt like bruised Jello. She just wanted to take a nap, but she still had counseling with Ragdoll.

“Alright kitten, I heard you’ve only had your quirk for about a year, right,” Ragdoll asked, laying next to Izuku.

“Yeah, the doctors think it’s because my body wasn’t strong enough to handle it at the time.” She turned towards Ragdoll.

“Makes sense, sometimes the body knows how to protect itself. Though, I do wonder why you haven’t seen a quirk counselor before now.” Ragdoll questioned

“Aizawa-Sensei didn’t know how recently I got my quirk.” Izuku played with a piece of grass. She couldn’t tell Ragdoll the truth because she didn’t want to risk anyone finding out her secret.

“I know that, but I meant before you got into U.A.” Ragdoll sat up, motioning for Izuku to do the same.

“I was diagnosed as quirkless; the teachers didn’t really see the need to send me to a quirk counselor like everyone else. I mostly spent that time doing self-study.” Izuku shrugged her shoulders.

“Kitten, even if you didn’t have a quirk at the time, you still should have gone to a few sessions to make sure,” Ragdoll stated.

“What do you mean.” Izuku tilted her head.

“Well, while the blood test is ninety percent accurate, there's still a 10% inaccuracy. Due to that, it’s required all children attend a few counseling sessions. If they are diagnosed as quirkless, then the doctor is required to send them to a specialist such as myself to make sure there's not a hidden quirk.” Ragdoll explained patiently.

“Blood test? What blood test?”

“Midoriya…what test did your doctor perform when you were diagnosed as quirkless.” Ragdoll narrowed her eyes.

“He took an X-ray of my foot. I had the double-jointed pinkie toe.” Izuku wanted to know where this was going.

“An X-Ray! Kitten, that test was thrown out the window decades ago. Who the hell was your doctor.” Ragdoll jumped up, pacing the ground.

“Hi—his name was Dr.Tsubasa,” Izuku whispered, flinching at ragdolls anger.

Ragdoll froze in place, turned to Izuku in horror.

“Midoriya, please tell me you didn’t say Tsubasa, please tell me I just misheard.” Ragdoll gripped her shoulders, worry etched on her face.

“I—I di—did though, why what’s wrong?” Izuku stuttered in fear.

“ERASERHEAD,” Ragdoll shouted towards Aizawa. Anger and fear evident in her eyes.

“Ragdoll, what’s wrong? Is everything ok with the Problem Child.” He asked, seeing the fear in his ki—student’s eyes.

“No! Her doctor not only performed the wrong test but is also Dr. Tsubasa,” Ragdoll answered.

“Midoriya is what she said true. Was he your doctor?” Aizawa asked, eyes red from his quirk.

“Yes, he was Kachann’s doctor, too. Why? What’s wrong, Sensei.” Izuku asked.

“Dr. Tsubasa has been a suspect in a number of kidnapping cases and human experimentation. We haven’t been able to pin him down in one place nor get enough concrete evidence against him. Midoriya, there’s a chance he may have given you something to suppress your quirk.” Aizawa sighed, deactivating his quirk.

“Wh—how?” Suppressed her quirk? Does that mean she hadn’t been quirkless?

“I can’t disclose that information. Do you know if he ever gave you anything? Shots, Vaccines, anything?” Aizawa asked.

“No, we went to a different clinic for those. We only went to see him because my quirk hadn’t come in, and he was a well-known quirk scientist in our area.” Izuku answered.

“I see…finish up your session with Ragdoll. I’m going to question Bakugou. When we get back, you’re both going to receive a full check-up from Recovery Girl.” Aizawa nodded to Ragdoll and walked briskly towards Bakugou.

Izuku took in a deep breath as she watched him leave. If Dr.Tsubasa was suspected of suppressing quirks—no, she was quirkless. Surely if he had suppressed her quirk, it would have worn off long before U.A.

“Kitt—hey kitten.” Ragdoll snapped her fingers in front of Izuku, bringing her back to the present.

“Are you ok if we continue with this session, or do you need some time to relax?” Ragdoll asked.

“No, I’m ok. I need to keep moving forward if I want to catch up.” Izuku answered.

“If you’re sure, I don’t want to push you.” Ragdoll placed a hand on her in comfort.

“I’m sure, please, I really want to gain a better hold on my quirk.” Izuku pleaded with round, glossy eyes.

“Then I need you to get into your meditation pose.” Ragdoll clapped her hands together, activating her quirk. She could get some idea of a person’s quirk with search. However, the accuracy was much higher when the person was using the quirk.

Izuku wasted no time in getting into her preferred position. Legs crossed, arms resting on them, and hands connected to form an upside-down triangle. She quickly lost herself in her mind, keeping an ear out for Ragdoll’s instructions.

“I want you to search for your quirk, but don’t activate it just yet.”

Izuku breathed in and reached out towards One for All. It took her a few minutes before she felt the familiar spark. She ‘floated’ towards it. She saw the usual green fire as she held it…along with something else. There were the same figures from the sports festival, and a red-orange spark. She reached towards both of them and knew no more.
