The Old Therebefore
Summary
JOSEPHINE MONROE was not like all the other girls that Wednesday had met, and not because she didn't enjoy typically girly things or always wanted attention; but because she didn't speak. Josephine never spoke a word, and that naturally made Wednesday curious. As the two girls embark on a rather dangerous journey, they grow close. What if they grow closer than mutual friends?

03. Technological Wolves

episode one , wednesday's child is full of woe

IF YOU WOULD have asked Josephine that two days later, she would be standing in front of Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclair in her house clothes. She would have called you crazy and walked away. Yet here she was, on the Ophelia Hall balcony standing next to Wednesday and (her pet? hand) Thing. "Why are you 'wolfing out'?" Wednesday asked cooly as she watched Enid almost squirm at the topic.

"Because I can't." Enid said in an almost melancholy tone as she extended her claws, before retracting them and turning them back into nails. "That's all I got. My mom says some wolves are late bloomers but," Enid gave a glance out into the distance as she head some wolves howl, "I've been to the best Lycanologist. Had to fly all the way out to Milwaukee, would you believe? She says that there's a chance, I'll never, you know." Enid couldn't bring herself to say it.

"What happens then?" Wednesday asked as Josephine watched as a small dog, glowing blue, stood off into the distance. The dog barked, almost like it saw her, and proceeded to wag its tail and run off into the distance.

"I'll be a lone wolf." Enid said grimly as she too watched the barking dog leave into the distance.

"That sounds perfect." Wednesday said as Josephine almost couldn't help but agree. A part of both the girl's knew that they were lying; yet they ignored it completely.

"Are you kidding? My life would officially be over! I'd be kicked out of the family pack, with no prospect of finding a mate." Enid almost yelled before she turned away from then, tears swelling in her eyes.

"I fail to see the problem." Wednesday said out of no where as Josephine gave a loud sigh but said nothing still.

"I could die alone!" Enid yelled as she stared down at the dog, who came running back with a wolf closely behind, on its tail almost.

"We all die alone, Enid." Wednesday said as she watched the dog and wolf play, another small wolf (or well, wolf/dog mix) coming up behind them.

"You really suck at this." Enid said as she turned to Wednesday and Josephine, who only starred at her. "Comforting people." Enid explained as Josephine shrugged her shoulders and Wednesday felt her cheeks heating up once more, what was wrong with her? She must talk to someone about her condition.

"Why are you crying." Wednesday said, hiding her face in order for none to see her blushing cheeks.

"Because I am upset!" Enid yelled as she stormed away and bank into Ophelia Hall, dorm room to go blast Taylor Swift in the shower.

"Lone wolves don't stay alone for long." Josephine signed as she helped Wednesday being her cello back inside. Thing sat on Jo's shoulder, 'staring' at all three girls.

"Can I borrow your cellular device?" Wednesday asked as Josephine raised an eyebrow but pulled out her computer anyways.

"You can barrow my computer, but sure. I don't really know how to do much on this but to face call someone press that green camera icon and type in the phone number." Josephine signed, "who do you need to call?" Josephine continued as Wednesday sighed.

"Tyler Glapin." Wednesday said calmly as Josephine's eyes went wide, but she didn't sign anything. All she did, was pull up Tyler's number (which was titled 'DO NOT CALL INDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE'.) Wednesday looked at the contact name and raised an eyebrow at Josephine, to which Jo just shrugged and walked away to do AP World homework.

"Josephine, why are you calling me?" Tyler said in a rude tone, over the computer as Wednesday turned her camera on. "Oh, hi Wednesday." Tyler's voice immediately picked up with a smile appearing on his face. The only reaction Wednesday had, was none at all. Tyler saw Thing next to Wednesday and raised an eyebrow. "I know Nevermore is ground zero for strange and unusual but this is a whole knew level." Tyler stated as he stared at Thing. "Is he like, your pet?" Tyler asked as Thing raised his middle finger at the sixteen year old.

"He's sensitive." Wednesday explained with distaste, as Tyler shamelessly flirted with her.

"So what happened to 'not becoming a slave to technology'?" Tyler asked with interested as Wednesday rolled her eyes and stared at him.

"Desperate times call for desperate measures. Listen there's the harvest festival this weekend-" Wednesday was cut off by Tyler speaking.

"Are you asking me out?" Tyler asked with a slightly smirk.

"No." Wednesday said coolly bettors continuing her pervious statement. "The harvest festival this weekend, attendance is mandatory. I'm going to use it as cover, if you are still willing to drive me to the train station." Wednesday said as she grabbed a hundred dollar bill and showed it the camera.

"I'm in, no charge. Consider it a freebie." Tyler said as Wednesday a gave him a quizzical look.

"Why?" Wednesday asked as Josephine put her AP World homework and came up behind the dark haired girl.

"Because I wish was going with you. At least one of us will be getting out of this hellhole town." Tyler said as Wednesday nodded and turned to Josephine; who moved the mouse to end the call.

"So, you're leaving?" Josephine signed as Wednesday just stared at her. "There's a safe house, out west in Wyoming." Josephine said as Wednesday smirked, her train would be stopping just at the airport, so she could book her flight to (as of now) Wyoming.

"Why are you doing this for me?" Wednesday asked as Josephine smirked and grabbed her things, today was the last night she as staying the Enid and Wednesday.

Josephine's brown-gold eyes melt the silvery black ones that encapsulated Wednesday's souls and a fire(?) almost was set into flame within Wednesday. Wednesday felt like small spiders were eating at her from the inside.

"Beacuse I know what it is like to run."
