The Old Therebefore
Summary
JOSEPHINE MONROE was not like all the other girls that Wednesday had met, and not because she didn't enjoy typically girly things or always wanted attention; but because she didn't speak. Josephine never spoke a word, and that naturally made Wednesday curious. As the two girls embark on a rather dangerous journey, they grow close. What if they grow closer than mutual friends?

04. Into the Woods

episode one , wednesday's child is full of woe

WEDNESDAY ADDAMS had never truly had an obsession before. She's red about them of course, and often fantasized about them. But she had never been obsessive over a single thing.

However that changed the moment Josephine Monroe waltzed into her life. The latter girl was stuck in Wednesday Addams mind like a bad case of luck she couldn't seem to shake. Josephine seemed to plague all of Wednesday's waking thoughts.

No matter how much Wednesday tried not to let this deter her from her mission to escape this school littered with pubescent children. However, her attempted fell futile to the amount of attention she had been giving the silent girl.

"Addams." Josephine would finger spell, and Wednesday thought she would die; just of because of how Josephine spelt her last name.

Wednesday Addams was truest obsessed with this girl, and she didn't know why. Perhaps with some luck, Wednesday could impress her later today?

JOSEPHINE MONROE's specialty was running; running away from her problems. But currently, her only problem was that Wednesday Addams was leaving. The Addams girl was perhaps the only human in the school that did not get on her nerves.

"Weems!" Josephine signed as she stomped loudly to catch the principal's attention. "Weems!" Josie stomped again as Weems turned around to face the girl. Josephine let out an exasperated sigh; before quickly signing. "What I don't want to go the harvest festival." Josephine signed as Weems just pintched the bridge of her nose.

"Miss Monroe, you are aware your student council president." Weems asked as Josephine nodded. "Than you are aware you are required to go to all school events unless sick?" Weems asked as Josephine gave ihr a loud breath of an annoyance and walked away. Weems gave a quiet chuckle to herself before going back to her work.

The only reason Josephine did not want go, is because she didn't know what to wear, and frankly; she was almost scared to go into her own dorm. However, Josephine had to brave facing her roommate and Diviana so she could see what she would be wearing tonight to the harvest festival.

In the end, Josephine decided to wear a white blouse with little pink embroider flowers, her jean skirt, a large brown belt buckles and her healed boots. Josephine grabbed her jacket and a bag, to shove some money inside.

Josephine scurried out of her dorm room, her hair in a bun being held by a wooden hair stick. Jo quickly scurried down the stairs and out the door, where she caught a ride on the last bus of Nevermore students down to Jericho (the local town).

"Are you sure you can trust that Normie?" Enid Sinclair asked Wednesday Addams as she patrolled the perimeter of the area. She didn't feel like participating, the normie were always particularly cruel in this town.

"Florence!" Someone called from behind to the brown haired girl, it a was a boy, with blonde hair and brown eyes. "It's me, Neville." The boy says as Josephine raised an eyebrow.

"I'm sorry, you must have the wrong person. My name is Josephine." Jo signed with annoyance. "If you would excuse me." With that, Josie walked away, her bag in hand. She walked over to the Panda, pin throwing game; when she saw Wednesday running towards something. "Wednesday?" Josephine pondered to herself as she followed the noise to see Rowan (an outcast within the outcast community) standing in the woods with Wednesday running after him.

"Rowan, wait!" Wednesday yelled as Josephine watched from the sidelines, making sure to intervene when needed.

"What do you want? What are you following me?" Rowan integrates as Wednesday just gave him her normal neutral expression.

"I don't have time to explain, you're in danger." Wednesday called to him, as Rowan turned around. Rowan steps closer to Wednesday, he smirked with a sudden malevolence. His face was warped by darkness and the large amount of fireworks, making his face contort and contrast in the forest shadows.

"I think you've got it backwards." Rowan said as he chuckled lowly, staring past Wednesday and straight at Josephine, who was a good twenty feet away. With a smirk, Rowan lifted his hand and telekinetically lifted Wednesday off the mossy leaf littered floor and into the air, by her neck.

"You're the one that's in danger!" With a swift motion, Rowan pins Wednesday to a tree trunk just in front of Josephine. "And you," Rowan said looking at Josephine who was frozen in fright. "You're a whore and a slut, did you really think you could lead me on like that?" Rowan asked, scoffing as Josephine almost muttered something under her breath.

"What are you doing, what are you talking about?" Wednesday yelled, pulling Rowan's attention from Josephine to herself. Wednesday struggled to breathe as she attempted to get the invisible hands around her throat off her.

"Saving everyone from you, I have to kill you!" Rowan said as Wednesday looked shocked.

"It's always the quiet ones." Wednesday muttered as she heard crunching of leaves before it went silent. "The gargoyle, was that you?" Wednesday asked as Rowan nodded and chuckled again, before he left a snake wrap around his leg, causing him to drop Wednesday and attempt to kick it off.

Wednesday was quick to back on feet, she grabbed Josephine's abandoned bag and stuffed it in her sweater, so she could return it later. A sheet of folded paper was carried over to her by the wind, Wednesday picks it up and opens up the paper. The drawing was the quad, most likely at night time, fire in multiple spots, an old pilgrim man, Wednesday, with something going through her shoulder, and Josephine, who was tinted a blue color.

"You want to kill me because of a mediocre drawing?" Wednesday asked as she had seen some of Josephine's drawings, and to Wednesday, they were significantly better.

"My mother drew that twenty-five years ago! She was a powerful seer." Rowan called out as he finally kicked the snake off of him, but it had bitten him, it wasn't a venomous snake, in fact, it didn't have an glands to keep the venom in.

The monster came out of no where, as the snake slowly became Josephine, who whipped out her hair stick and waved it, the monster was held in place, waving Rowan by a single moment. Josephine waved her hand and there was a camera, she snapped a picture before going and helping Rowan up. She help up but she freezing the monster in place held it up; Josephine grabbed her hair stick and pointed it at the monster once more before it fell asleep.

"Somnum." Josephine thought as it fell asleep, Bianca's Barclay quickly came over to hear the commotion. "This the monster in the woods, go to Weems. I'm going to take pictures of evidence." Bianca nodded and scurried off as Josephine took pictures of the monster and/or Rowan's injuries.

Rowan was in a lot of pain, so Josephine softly moved her hand over him and he fell right asleep. His breathing was less labored. Weems came running over as Wednesday sleeping to Josephine's arms, exhausted from stuffing in Rowan's grip.

"They're not dead, only sedated. Rowan's injuries are critical and Wednesday was just choked by the Rowan. The monster is over there." Josephine signed, but when she turned, the monster was gone. "No matter, I have picture evidence." Josephine said as she felt a wave of exhaustion take over her.

"Very well Miss Monroe, we will take a full statement from you tomorrow. Can I have the camera, so we can show the sheriff?" Weems said with a soft smile as Josephine handed Weems the camera, to which she brought all the children back to their dorms (or in Rowan's case, the hospital wing).
