When Flowers Bloom || Sana

There she sat, softly humming amongst the sterile array of stones and the greenest of grass. Her gentle voice and the flowers dancing with the wind broke up the visual static of the place.

How have you been these days? She asked while looking up at the clouds, those of which almost resembled cotton candy.

You know, I had a dream the other day...
It was a beautiful one really. I was standing at the top of a mountain, watching as the lake beyond me sparkled and all the flowers below me bloomed.

Although much simpler, it reminded me of when we walked home from school, looking at the trees and the blue sky as we passed, and also of the nights when I would sit on the balcony, admiring the night sky while on call with you just to sing and hear your laughter. She smiled softly and her eyes glistened as she recalled the memories, almost like the lake from her dreams. She sniffled quietly and continued.

You know, there's this quote I really like...

'Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads'

It's a beautiful quote, isn't it? It's by Henry David Thoreau. I heard it a long time ago, but I never really thought of the wonders of our world like that before.

But thanks to you, I was able to see and appreciate this heaven of ours. She took a deep breath and exhaled shakily, just in time for her tears to begin to fall...

I won't lie. I won't say I don't miss you, because I do.

But what more can I do? She said as she stood up.

She wiped her tears and smiled as best she could at the gravestone, leaving shortly after.

I'll simply visit you again when your flowers bloom.
