You || SaTzu

It was just another Monday afternoon for Tzuyu. She had just finished school and found herself tossing and turning on her bed. Normally, she'd be hanging out with her friend Sana, but since she was out of town, everything was quite stagnant.

A few weeks had already passed, and soon enough, Sana would be back home again. Tzuyu however couldn't handle it any longer, and impatience found itself getting the best of her little by little. She sat up on the bed and stared at her phone, Sana's DMs open. After quite a few hours of just sitting there, the girl finally gathered the courage to send a text.

Sana

Tzuyu
Um...Hey-

Sana
Hey Tzu, what's up?

Tzuyu
Just wondering if you're busy.

Sana
Not really. Why?

Tzuyu
I miss you...

Sana is typing...

It felt like she was waiting for years, even though in reality it was only a few minutes. The phone was tossed onto a pillow but was quickly picked back up as the worry of having made a mistake slowly started invading her mind. Little did Tzuyu know that on the other side of the screen, Sana was too busy panicking and thinking hard about what to say next.

Sana
Who are you and what have you done to Tzuyu?

Tzuyu
AAA

Sana
Tzuyu? THE Tzuyu?? Missing ME???

Tzuyu
I'm not allowed to miss my friend?

Sana
I mean- It's only been like a week though
xD

Tzuyu
Look it's not my fault you stick to me like gum when you're here okay-

Sana
True. My bad then-
I miss you too though
How are you? How's school?

Tzuyu
I get easily distracted these days
Just had a lot on my mind

Sana
Oh-
I'm free right now so...
Let's call?

She pondered on what to do, as Sana would likely try to have her open up. There's not much wrong with it really, but, what would happen after? What if-

So much time was spent overthinking, but in the end, all of her doubts were ignored and she responded to Sana's message with a simple Sure. Shortly after, she received a call and picked up almost instantly.

"Hi!" Sana said with a slight chuckle. Tzuyu responded in the same way, and after this followed a bit of silence.

"So how are you? How has it been over there?"

They asked each other questions like this for some time, really just catching up. After a while, Sana decided to ask that question.

"So, what has been on your mind lately hm?"

Tzuyu let a small sigh, she saw this coming.

I mean, what do I have to lose? A friend?

Yeah

That.

"Come on, you know you can tell me anything Tzuyu." It was her voice that snapped her out of it all. She's right. She can tell Sana anything and Sana will still be by her side. Tzuyu took a deep breath and nodded to herself.

It's okay

Because it's you.

"You..."

"What?" Sana asked, not understanding what the younger is trying to get at.

"You. You've been on my mind, Sana."

"Wait-"

"I feel stupid right now. Looking back at everything makes me feel so stupid. I pretended to be cold sometimes. I pretended like I didn't have feelings for you. I pretended not to love you. All because I was scared..."

"Tzuyu..." Sana said in a soft tone, but Tzuyu was not yet done with what she had to say.

"But now that I'm far away from you, I realized I can't keep my feelings in any longer. You're just...you...Why wouldn't I love you?" Sana was completely silent, so Tzuyu continued.

"Am I stupid? Please tell me I'm not stupid...Or uh- tell me I am, I don't know-"

On the other end, Sana's lips curved into a smile. She hugged a pillow and held her phone a little bit closer.

"I love you too, stupid."

What?

"Wait, what did you say?? Say it again-" She asked, but then, Sana hung up.

And then...

She woke up.

Tzuyu looked around the room, confused as to what just happened. Her eyes soon landed on her clock.

6 AM

She then checked her phone, only to find that what happened last night, was really just a dream.

Sana
Oh-
I'm free right now so...
Let's call?
Hey, you alright?
Goodnight, Tzuyu.

Tzuyu groaned, salty over a call that never happened, and over the fact that she couldn't get more sleep, given her alarm would ring in about 30 minutes. All that could be done is get ready for another day of school, and wait patiently for her friend to return.

One day, one day I'll say it. I promise you...
