Blind Date AU
Dorcas paused at a table that a blonde woman with short hair was sitting at, "Marlene, right?"
"Yeah, Dorcas?"
Dorcas nodded, sitting down opposite and placing her flat white on the table, "Mary sent me your picture but it was on snapchat so all I could remember was blonde, hot, and muscles."
Marlene grinned, "Hot, huh? Y'know Mary sent me your picture too, on Whatsapp though. And I've been staring at it constantly these past few days."
Dorcas laughed, "Very smooth, Mckinnon."
From the table next to theirs, a young woman leaned over, "Oh my god, you're Marlene Mckinnon? I'm a huge fan, could I get a picture?"
Marlene froze, "Um. Sure."
The women grabbed her phone and snapped a quick picture before turning back to Marlene, "I actually got tickets to your last match, and that ref was so in the wrong there. You totally deserved that win."
"Thank you. I can't say I agree since I was told not to shit-talk anymore, but thank you for saying so."
"Oh, thank you. You're an absolute inspiration." The women smiled, before turning back to her own table.
Dorcas smirked, "Are you famous or something?"
Marlene shrugged, "I may be the captain of the England women's national football team."
"Well, I may have to start watching then."
"What'd you do?"
Dorcas frowned, "I'm currently working at tescos whilst I finish up my master's in construction engineering."
"Oh, well that's a lot more exciting", Marlene took a sip of her strawberry smoothie, "Maybe you could show me around the backrooms in tescos sometime."
Dorcas laughed, "Very unique pickup line."
"I'm a unique person, Meadowes."
