Breakup
Pandora ran across the grounds, making her way from the lake where Marlene and Sirius were currently talking, to the Flitwick's classroom where Dorcas was planning for debate club.
She was out of breath by the time she reached her, huffing from the quick pace.
Dorcas glanced up to her, confused.
"Mckinnon and her boyfriend are breaking up."
Dorcas stood up in shock, papers fluttering down to the floor, "What?"
"I was collecting samples by the lake when I heard them talking about how they're better of as friends."
Dorcas' eyes widened and she grabbed her papers, quickly stuffing them in her bag and rushing out the room.
Pandora turned to where Flitwick sat at his desk, "Young love", she shrugged before pulling out a large book of charms theory to interrogate the professor about.
Dorcas made her way to the lake, where Marlene now sat alone. Dorcas could see Sirius in the distance, heading towards the other side of the castle with James by his side as usual.
"You alright?"
Marlene glanced up to her with a smile, "Course. What you doing here?"
Dorcas shrugged, sitting down by Marlene's side, "I- uh. I heard you and Black broke up?"
"Oh, right" Marlene nodded, kicking her legs in the lake, "We did."
"And you're fine with it?"
Marlene smirked, "It was mutual. I found out he liked me because I look like Roger Taylor and he found out I liked him because he looks like Joan Jett."
"Ah", Dorcas laughed slightly, "Right."
"You weren't aware?" Marlene snorted, "After I snogged on the train last year?"
Dorcas shrugged, "I thought you said that was a youthful experimentation?"
Marlene grinned, "Well... the experiment worked. Or didn't- I'm not too sure which one."
"Definitely worked", Dorcas said after a moment.
Marlene glanced to her with affection, "Yeah."
