Chapter 2
Goslyn sat outside the Muddlefoots house the next morning, patently waiting for her mo-Diana to pick her up. The latina girl checked her phone again
2:43pm
Diana and Launchpad where supposed to pick her up at 11:30.
Diana was paranoid about being on time, so much so that she would uslay arrive early to everything an hour early and just sit in her car listening to musicals full blast being out the notes with no shame what's so ever.
That point being said, she was never late, if something had happened surly she would have called someone.
Right?
"Sweetie, you don't have to keep standing out on the curb.
Goslyn looked up and saw Mrs.Muddlefoot outside her door a kind smile on her face.
The redhead sighed and walked back into the house.
"Somethings wrong, she's never late." Goslyn said as she walked back into the house.
Mrs.Muddlefoot gave her another kind smile and sat a stack of chocolate chip pancakes in front her.
"I'm sure your mom just over slept Sweetie. I mean the poor girl is always working such late hours in the night, It's a wonder she can stand on her own two feet still."
Goslyn nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, I'm sure that's it." She mumbled softly as she shoved a forkful of pancakes in her mouth.
Her best friend Honker looked at her sadly. Worry in his eyes as he adjusted his glasses.
"Goz, didn't your mom take the night off last night to have a Darkwing Marathon with her friend?"
"Yeah." She whispered.
"I'm worried Honk." She looked at the smaller boy. "I know something wrong. I can feel it in my gut."
"I'm sure she's okay. she's Darkwing, nothing can hurt her." He whispered.
"Yeah." Got agreed. She's a real life superhero." She grinned widely at Honker.
"I mean how many people can say that their current guardian is a literal superhero. Not many Honk." She whispered excitedly.
Yeah Diana was a huge dork, but the young woman her her moments of being a total badass.
Not that she would ever say that out loud, she had a big enough ego as it was.
Goslyn felt a little bit better.
It wouldn't be the first time her mom had decided to go on a late night patrol last minute.
Diana had a hard time sitting still anyway, even if her favorite show was on, she had to be moving.
But the stupid pit in her stomach just wouldn't go away.
No matter how many times she assured herself that she was fine.
Even though she was freaking Darkwing, she was always fine. A little bruised yup sometimes but she was perfectl-
Knock, knock, knock
Goslyn leaped out of her seat grabbing her bag.
"That must be mom!" she called out reaching for the door knob.
"See ya later Honk! Thankyou for the pancakes Honk's mom" He yelled back as she swung the door open expecting to see a now familiar freckled face with a purple shirt and sunglasses hanging from said shirt.
As Roslyn readjusted her night bag over her shoulder she started to ramble"It's about time you got here! I was starting to think something hap-"
She looked up.
And
She didn't see the kind face of Diana Mallard.
Her mom.
Instead she was greeted by Scrooge McDuck and LaunchPad McQuack, both with a expressions that made her heart drop.
She knew those looks all too well.
"Where's Diana." She whispered.
"Wheres my mom?"
Scrooge sighed and took off his hat.
"Lass. I'm afraid we need to talk."
