Starting over again
When she ran away from the ghost of her past, Yumeko starts to remember everything they had.
She thought that the wounds are already closed. It feels like someone just peel her dry skin from her wound, revealing that the wound are still fresh. Seeing her was a breath of fresh air but there is still a suffocating feeling clawing at her chest. It feels like her heart hammered against her ribcage, begging to be seen.
With all her might, Yumeko just hide away.
She’s kind of surprised that she took a different turn of event. Most of her days she keeps on imagining to have a bittersweet reunion with her ex-girlfriend, thinking that they would be having a closure for her to move on already.
Jokes on her, Yumeko can’t move on. She barely moved an inch where she just had left.
Even she’s the one who left— she is still the one who keeps on longing for something she doesn’t have.
After that unexpected incident, Yumeko starts to overthink everything. Her sleeping calculating mind suddenly roused from the deep slumber. A gnawing itch starts to bother her. Whenever she’s in distress, her body slowly going into autopilot as she craves for risk.
She just left her stupid addiction. That goddamned gambling antics reminds her of everything she just lost. Instead of cheering over her defeat, Yumeko starts to mourn over it.
Pain changed her.
Not wanting to cross paths with her greatest love, she decided to think of any possibilities of seeing her.
But it seems like the fate keeps on playing her.
When she doesn't want to see her again, her beloved will just show spontaneously at the library she’s working at.
“..Is that you?”
Her eyes widened in realization. She’s so lost right now. Fortunately, another student came for her to escape the inevitable. Yumeko took that chance to evade the questioning girl.
She attended the other student who needs help to look for a book, leaving the blonde girl dumfounded from what she did as she ignored her.
That pains her. But she failed to see the heartbroken look on Mary.
She wants to start over again.
Without any ghost of her past.
But it seems like the fate keeps on playing with her.
“Finally, I see you again,”
She wants to slam her head right now.
“M..Mary?”
The girl in question only nodded in reply, earning a stupid dumbfounded look on her face. “Long time no see, Y..Yumeko.”
The raven haired girl only look at her blankly but deep inside— she’s freaking out what she should act right now. Probably she looks the stupidest human ever.
“Are you.. are you fine? Did I make you uncomfortable?” Mary asked hesitantly.
That snapped her out.
Yumeko smiled bashfully. “Uh, no.. I’m just surprised,” she can’t escape now, isn’t she?
“Been so long,” the blonde girl said.
Fate seems to be not on her side. She realized that they are blockmates for that one subject this whole semester.
“Hm,” she hummed dumbly.
“Can we talk?”
Yumeko blinked at her blankly. A lot of things keeps on rushing inside her brain right now. What it can be? What are they gonna talk about? Yumeko wants to puke from nervousness.
“What? Why?”
“It’s about.. us,”
Fuck it.
She wants to cry right now.
