Angst, Tragedy

________________________________________________________________________________

"Miyu!!!" Oda ran to protect Suzumoto

It was already too late for them...

"Dani!" Suzumoto shouted, stunned by the turn of events

Oh, if they could only turn back the time...

"Miyu..." Oda weakly smiled before stumbling down to Suzumoto's arms

Back to when it was still okay…

"Dani NO!!" Suzumoto cried out, holding Oda before

kneeling down, hugging oda cautiously

When everything was still okay...

"Miyu...I'm..." Oda coughed with blood coming out

When ‘They’ were still okay...

"You're gonna be alright, okay?" Suzumoto tried to stop the bleeding, but it was useless

What a turn of events...

"Miyu..." Oda called out to deaf ears

No one expected it...

"Miyu..." Oda tried again, lifting a hand to hold Suzumoto's face, finally catching her attention

It came when everyone least expected it....

"It's okay....you can...stop now..." Oda slowly said, weakly smiling at Suzumoto

When everyone thought it was already done...

"Dani, please.. don't leave me" Suzumoto said holding Oda's hand while her tears slowly roll down her face"

Everyone thought they could finally breathe relief...

"Miyu...I'm...Sorry" Oda finally said after some struggle

But they were proven wrong...

"What do you mean? Don't be sorry, just... please...don't leave me again" Suzumoto pleaded once more

Why did it have to return...

"Miyu...I..Can't...Not in this state..." Oda tried to joke, but got caught in a coughing fit

Why were their kind, forgiving hearts betrayed...

"Dumbass, don't joke like that. Don't give up, you're gonna be fine" Suzumoto said, not in the mood to laugh.

"I know..But....I'm your....dumbass...right?" Oda said seriously, hoping.

"Who said you're my dumbass? Your my One and Only Dani okay" Suzumoto confessed, but panicked when she could slowly feel Oda's pulse disappearing

"Dani, just hang on, please.." Suzumoto sobbed out, clenching Oda's hand tightly

Oda could only look at Suzumoto. Slowly losing conscience.

"Miyu...I'm Sorry... And..Thank You....Remember... I always..." Oda breathed in but ended up coughing out more blood

"Dani!" Suzumoto helped oda to sit up a bit and rubbed Oda's bac

"Just...Remember...I'm....always..." Oda tried again but...

"So this is it... even until my end, I still can't tell her...." Oda thought before finally closing the curtains and lay lifelessly in Suzumoto's embrace.

Suzumoto froze when she couldn't feel it anymore

"Dani? Dani?? Please open your eyes. Don't joke around. It's not funny..." Suzumoto said in disbelief, looking at Oda's body with widened eyes.

"No, please, no. Please tell me you're still alive, please!" Suzumoto gently shook Oda, not believing Oda is finally resting, albeit in regrets

Suzumoto already knew Oda was already gone, she already checked Oda's pulse, But it still didn't sink in, as if her mind couldn't process and accept that fact.

"What did you wanna say? Please wake up and tell me now!...." Suzumoto cried out, cradling Oda's face in her hand

After a while, Suzumoto finally accepted the reality.

The reality of a world with no one to care for her like Oda did.

.

.

.

No one to protect her like Oda did.

.

.

.

No one to comfort her like how Oda did.

.

.

.

No one to love like what she and Oda did to each other.

Finally she broke down.

Crying, shouting her sorrows away as the sky sympathized and tried to give comfort by crying alongside her.

Hugging Oda's lifeless body, with so much love, care, compassion, warmth.

They were still in the middle of a battle, a war to be exact. But Suzumoto could care less. Suzumoto lost her reason to fight. Lost her will to live.

A few of Suzumoto and Oda's comrades saw Suzumoto, but didn't dare go to her and could only stand by at some distance, knowing they couldn't provide any help or comfort.

And so they stood there, watching, some lowered their heads, couldn't bear to watch while others cried with her.
