A Chance Encounter

Atlantis sighed as she stretched her arms over her head glancing around the near-deserted restaurant. Mihawk had dropped her off as the report was still going and Smoker had left the job to her with an almost evil glint in his eyes as he returned to LogueTown with the other marines.

The only upside was the small meal Zeff had cooked for her once she finished. Now she sat outside on one of the last standing pieces with a finished bowl in front of her.

Standing she jolted as she heard someone speaking near her, “Ah damn. Closed.”

Jolting once more she turned with an amazed smile, “Ace?”

Ace turned his eyes to glance at her before widening with a grin, “Atlantis?”

Atlantis allowed a grin to cross her face as she struggled to find her words, though she never found them as she was swept up into a tight hug only rivaled by Luffy. She laughed happily as she wrapped her hands around his shoulders before her smile jolted as Ace rocked as he stepped into his small ship.

“...Ace… put me down.”

“Ah- I can’t there’s only room for one.” Ace patted her back as he adjusted her to be able to see in front of him with a grin growing on his face. “You might want to hang on for this next part.”

Atlantis lost her breath as Ace shot forward with a jolt, grabbing tight in fright as the man shouted in glee. The scenery from her view behind them was beautiful, albeit terrifying. Since she was looking behind him she never saw it coming until he nudged her as he slowed and as she turned around her breath caught at the sigh of the Moby Dick.

As they docked and climbed aboard she ignored the shouts of outrage as Ace’s crew chastised him for kidnapping a marine. Instead, her eyes wandered the ship in shock, staring at the mixed cast of people in amazement before Whitebeard caught her eyes and her breath.

The man looked down at her calmly in an attempt to calm her as she stared at the significantly larger man, one of the greatest men to ever live.

“Are you okay?” Izou asked as she approached her gently. “I’m not sure what Ace was thinking, but we don’t usually do this. We’ll send you back.”

Atlantis glanced at Izou before remembering Ace suddenly turning toward the fool in question with narrowed eyebrows. “Did you just kidnap me?”

“...Yeah,” Ace shrugged his shoulders with a confused grin. “Guess I did.”

Atlantis took a deep breath before releasing it with a nod of her head. She then crouched to bury her face into her hands with a groan, “My street creds gone.”

“Oh please,” Ace shook his head with a flabbergasted face, “I think your evil personality speaks for itself.”

“I got kidnapped by the biggest loser this side of the sea,” Atlantis mocked cried out as she buried her face in her head once more, snickering to herself as she listened to Ace’s crewmates' reactions.

“Stop that!” Ace grabbed her hands pulling her up onto her feet, “Stop trying to make me out to be the bad guy! Pops, I swear she's acting!”

“So this is her,” Whitebeard commented with a hum, cutting off all his children. Everyone stopped including Atlantis as she dropped her act winking at Ace as she turned to address the man.

“I’m Atlantis, thanks for taking care of my favorite brother!” Atlantis grinned at the man as she wrapped an arm around Ace’s neck pulling him down to her level, huffing as he sighed.

As Ace turned to look at Atlantis with a fond smile his eyes caught the paper in her jacket, more specifcally Luffy’s face peeking out at him. Instinctively, he reached into her jacket for teh photo with a large grin, ignoring the cries of outrage from Atlantis and his crewmates as he unfolded the photo.

“Pops! Look, this is my little brother!” He bounded off towards Whitebeard to show him the bounty with a large grin. Turning around to see Atlantis holding her chest with her eyes narrowed in his direction. “Oh, please. Like thats the first time.”

Atlantis chuckled and dropped her arms as Ace’s crew jumped him in outrage, snatching the bounty poster from him.

“Hello there,” someone called out to her causing her to turns her eyes away from Ace. The hair was the first thing she noticed, more specifically because its height.

“Fourth Division Commander: Thatch.” Atlantis called out to him as she turned to him with a grin crossing her face. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

“The pleasures mine,” He smiled down at her before glancing at Ace briefly. NOdding in his direction as he leaned closer, “but I can’t help but o wonder how you know that imbecile.”

Ace laughed as he finally broke free grabbing Atlantis around the shoulder to pull her away from Thatch, “Nice try guys, but none of you are her type.”

“Oh come on!” “We can’t be sure, till we ask!”

Atlantis chuckled at their reactions before tilting her head with a consideration expression crossing her face, “Well… If I had to pick someone…I’d think M-”

“Nope.” Ace covered her mouth with a smile. “She’s taken. Period. No chances here.”

“No wait a minute,” Whitebeard called with a laugh. “It sounded like she was about to say M-”

“Nope!” Ace shouted with a grin shaking his head furiously. “First: I refuse to be related to that stupid bird. Second: She’s married.”

Marco grinned from where he was leaned against Whitebeard’s side, throwing a wink towards Atlantis as he turned to Ace, “Ah? How’d you know we’re already married-yoi?”

“No.” Ace brought a hand up to wave in his direction with a smile. “Nice try, but Luffy wouldn’t just let you steal his girl away.”

“Right.. Wait, She’s married to your little brother?” Thatch sweat dropped as he turned to look Atlantis before turning back to the smiling boy in the bounty poster.

“Ew!” Ace shouted as he pulled his slobbered hand away from Atlantis’ mouth giving her the chance to escape.

“Yep. Taken by the one and only, Monkey D. Luffy.” She winked in Marco’s direction as she paused, “We are only engaged though.”

Marco huffed lightly with laughter as he shook his head before gesturing to a seat near Whitebeard, “Welcome aboard the Moby Dick-yoi.”

“Glad to have been kidnapped.”
