Finn/Gigi
The air felt still. Most of the toons were sleeping. Gigi stayed awake though. Her mind occupied by the stuffed fish in front of her. Finn normally would come to get Barnaby, but not this time. She felt anxious and worried at that thought.
The plastic beads stayed lifeless and matte. The stitching looked slightly off compared to newer, modern stuffed animals.
Gigi smiled as she rubbed the finns on the plush. A thought flashed through her mind. Hurriedly she brought Barnaby closer to her face. Without thinking she took a small sniff. The plush smelt of water and seaweed.
Memories flashed across her mind as she gripped the plush. She'd have to go on a run soon, but the idea of seeing him again was painful. It may not be confirmed, but she knows. Finn isn't coming back. At least, not in the way she wants him to.
She held Barnaby up in front of her. His eyes, which once seemed so full of life, were dull like the doll he was. No, he was a best friend. Finn wouldn't call Barnaby a doll, so she wouldn't either. She also knows if Finn were here, he'd probably ask Barnaby to protect her. She smiled as the fish would've done a great job.
She felt a drop of water, no, a tear fall down her cheek. This moment felt so unreal, so horrible. She loved every bit of him yet he had to leave. The runs felt so dull and uncomfortable. Without his puns, without his goofy smile, without him.
She brought the fish closer to her chest. Sobs began to fill the room. Her heart shattered at the reality of losing him.
Between sobs she choked out, "I miss you, Finn."
She never felt such grief. Never before, never after. The cold room felt so strange compared to the warm feeling the plush brought.
