Sprout/Ginger
Today was awkward. The three of them, Sprout, Ginger, and Cosmo were supposed to be baking together but unfortunately, Cosmo got sick. Even worse, he only messaged Sprout and Ginger when they already met up.
"Are we...Going to cancel?" Ginger asked.
Sprout rubbed his arm awkwardly. "Do you want to?"
Ginger began taking out bowls and spoons. "No." She placed ingredients for cupcakes in front of him. "You can make the batter and I'll make the frosting..."
Sprout smiled in response. He looked towards Ginger, taking in the moment. Her icing covered her eye as she started making the frosting.
To his surprise she looked back up, checking on his progress. His eyes shot back to the supplies. A blush creeped across his face.
Her smile, her eyes, everything about her. She was truly the most beautiful being he's seen.
"Sprout?" Her voice called out. She slowly reached for his arm. He shut his eyes. Anxiety floaded his mind. Then it happened.
Before either knew it, Ginger was staring into his eyes with a weak smile across her face. She leaned in. She smelt of cinnamon and sugar. The smell was truly intoxicating to the strawberry.
Sprout hesitated, his breath quaking as he leaned down. He cupped her face, and Ginger gasped. That when he felt a hand run across his cheek and appear in front of him, stained with flour. He stumbled back, realizing the situation.
"I'm sorry-" he sputtered out quickly before Ginger pulled him down by his scarf, planting a kiss on his lips.
It was quick and sweet, and she moved back to continue the frosting. Sprout jumped back in to routine as well, smiling giddily to himself the rest of the hangout.
