Summary
In an unfair world where no-one is born equal, Izumi is considered one of the unlucky one's. She gave up on trying to be a hero a long time ago, taking a more realist path in her life. But that all changes when she finds she's not as powerless as she thinks she is. [Big thanks to Critical Warrior for helping out with this fic. Go check out his stories or I'll steal your legs. Chapter 7

Izumi and Kasaka collided, Izumi’s fist smashing into the giant serpent’s head, resulting in a small, yet powerful shockwave that threw them both back. Izumi skidded across the floor and quickly managed to regain her balance, while Kasaka’s head rose back high into the air, letting out an angry “HISSS” as it did. The snake shook its head slightly, which meant the collision had some effect.

Izumi looked down at her fist, the bandages that were wrapped around it were now destroyed, her knuckles yet again bleeding. But this time it seemed that the damage was not as sever as her fight with Caesar, which meant the increase to her strength and health stat had made a significant improvement.

Kasaka charged down at her again, snapping at Izumi with its giant fangs. But Izumi had already moved out of the way, and summoned the Dragon’s Wrath, and landed a series of slashes on the monsters’ side. Kasaka Hissed again, but Izumi’s Dagger wasn’t long enough to do any kind of fatal damage. Just enough to get through the scales. Before Izumi could form a plan though, The Serpent circled around her, and began using its immense weight to slam its body into her.

A wall of scales crashed into her, knocking the air out of her lungs. Izumi did her best to block, but going on completely on the defensive was not an option. She willed one of the System’s screens appeared, displaying her Health Bar, which showed that each hit was dealing forty points worth of damage to her health. (I can’t stay here and let my Health get worn down like this! Gotta come up with some kind of plan!)

Kasaka’s body began to close in around her, meaning the only way out was up. Izumi then threw her dagger up into the wall of scales, before jumping as high as she could, using The Dragon’s Wrath as a foot hold to escape. Izumi then summoned her weapon back to her, and dug it into one of the pillars, keeping herself from falling. She looked around, seeing she had narrowly avoided being crushed to death by the giant snake.

Said Serpent veered its head at Izumi, and its head shot out, mouth ready to bite down on her. Izumi pulled the Wrath free and let herself drop, Kasaka missing her by a hair its fangs embedded into the pillar, but as she descended, the Dragon’s Wrath tried to pull her arm to the side. Izumi realised why it did to late, as Kasaka’s tail swung around like a whip, smacking her out of the air.

Izumi hit the ground hard, barrel rolling across the floor. She dug her fingers into the ground, slowing her momentum, and jumped back to her feet. Kasaka didn’t waste any time and charged at her with terrifying speed. Izumi raised her arms, but noticed that she had lost her weapon. Before she could re-summon it, Kasaka’s tail whipped around, slamming into her gut and pinning her to a pillar. The massive beast’s jaws were upon her in moments, its fangs aimed at her chest.

The snake’s blade like fangs were stopped just short of running Izumi through, as she had managed to catch them in the nick of time.

If her arms could speak, they would most likely be screaming in agony. The beast’s powerful jaws pushed down even harder, and Izumi was struggling to keep her grip.

But that’s when something caught her attention. Kasaka’s mouth. While the outside of the Serpents body was covered in tough scales, its mouth wasn’t. Calling her weapon two her, Izumi released her right hand, and as the Dragon’s Wrath manifested, she thrusted upwards, jabbing the blade right through the top of Kasaka’s mouth. The giant snake let out a loud “HISSSSS!” in pain, its mouth opening and its tail loosening, allowing Izumi to wriggle free. With the monster distracted, Izumi pulled her fist back, and smashed it into Kasaka’s face. She could feel her skin tear from the impact, but it left a small dent between Kasaka’s eyes. Izumi then jumped up, raising her fist above her head, and as she descended, Izumi brought both her fist down, slamming them into Kasaka’s head. The snakes head crashed into the ground, with two more dents on its armour.

Izumi landed, shaking her aching bleeding hands (That may not have done a lot of damage, but damn did it feel good) Izumi though as Kasaka rose up, glaring at Izumi in anger. Kasaka’s orange eyes began to glow brighter, and a wave of energy coursed over the monster’s entire body.

(What was that? Some kind of Skill?) Izumi didn’t have time to ponder though, as faster than Izumi could blink, Kasaka launched itself at Izumi again, and collided with her stomach. Izumi smashed against the pillar, coughing up blood. Izumi held her stomach, barley able to register what happened. (Oh great, a Speed boost. I could barely keep up with that monster as it was. what the hell am I gonna do now!?)

Kasaka lunged again, swatting Izumi into the air, her body bouncing off of another pillar. Kasaka’s tail whipped around, striking her mid-air and flinging her to the floor. Izumi struggled to her feet, her limbs feeling as if they were made of lead. Kasaka blurred behind her, slashing her back with its fangs, leaving two large blade like cuts on her back. It then turned, slamming into her side, and Izumi felt at least 3 of her ribs get crushed. Kasaka kept up the assault, hitting her from all angles, with speed that made it impossible for Izumi to counter.
Kasaka then charged straight at Izumi, its jaws open to devour her, Izumi stood eerily still, covered in her own blood. Just as the monster was upon her, Izumi jumped into the air, twisting in the air, leg connecting with the monster’s head, the momentum carrying Kasaka into a stone pillar.

(You may be faster than me, but that doesn’t matter if your predicable) Izumi cracked her neck, working out the kinks. (When fighting an opponent faster than you, you need to be able to predict what they gonna do and have a way to restrain them, and when your opponent is physically lager than you, you out manoeuvre them, and use their size against them. At first I though Kaska had the best of both words, but now I realise he has both weaknesses)

Kasaka rose up again, and went at Izumi again, but this time, Izumi spun on her heel and ran. Kasaka gave chase, as the two of them weaved around the large pillars. Kasaka might have been faster than Izumi, but that speed didn’t help while continuously changing direction to follow its prey. Izumi kept moving, constantly veering another direction; left, right, up down, over and around.

Izumi then spun around to face the snake, standing with her arms crossed. Just as Kasaka was within striking distance, it stopped. The Snakes snapped and bit at Izumi, but it couldn’t reach her. It long massive body was tangled around the many, many pillars that filled the Boss Room. Izumi then brought out her Dagger, and stabbed it through the bottom of Kasaka’s mouth, pinning it to the floor.

Kasaka was completely immobilized, unable to do anything as Izumi cracked her bleeding knuckles, and jumped on top of Kasaka’s head. Izumi then unleashed a flurry of punches, each one hitting the exact same spot, right between Kasak’s eyes. Izumi kept going, each punch wearing the scales down, each punch drawing more blood. Red soon became mixed with blue, as Izumi finally pierced through. Punch. (Just a little more). Punch. (Just a little more). Punch. (Just. A. Little. More!) With final strike, Izumi fist passed through Kasaka’s skull, and through its brain. Kasaka’s body spasmed, shaking violently, before coming to a halt.
