Kuroko no Basket
So obviously some people have done this trope so far, and reading those fics really make me wanna cry, but I don’t see enough of those types, and I absolutely love them.
(Most noticeable ones I’ve read are The Teikou Report by SapphireMoons and ⧼•𝕮𝖗𝖆𝖈𝕶𝖊𝖉, 𝕹𝖔𝖙 𝕭𝖗𝖔𝕶𝖊𝖓•⧽ by Arthuria_PenDragon)
So the Kiseki are obviously traumatized by Teiko, and those memories stay with them as they move onto high school. Unlike in the anime/manga, they actually keep in contact and communicate with each other, and are still extremely very close.
The Kiseki don’t how to deal with people who don’t want to hurt them at every turn, though some are better at hiding it than others.
Kuroko sees the way his fellow Kiseki keep falling into the deep end, and although he is just as bad, unlike them he can actually keep his head up. He sees similarities to Aomine in Kagami, and he decides that Kagami is the perfect way to get through to his former teammates/found family.
They all develop their own ways of coping and their own phobias, etc.
Akaashi cannot tolerate failure from himself or others, and acts like an emperor; Murasakibara acts more childish than he usually does and threatens to crush everyone in a misguided way of pushing others away from himself; Midorima depends too heavily on his horoscopes and acts cold towards everyone in an attempt to protect himself from harm; Kise falls back into acting and modeling, puts on a mask and develops a fear of blood; Aomine loses faith in basketball and becomes obsessed with winning; Kuroko relies on his diminutive presence and near invisibility.
They all have one thing that sticks with them from Teiko no matter what.
Winning is everything.
They may have left Teiko, but Teiko has not left them.
No one outside of the Kiseki understands why they act the way they do aside from Momoi, but even then she is considered an honorary Kiseki, so she doesn’t count.
Eventually, Teiko is found out for being the monster it is, and the teams are rightfully horrified. They try to get in touch with their respective Kiseki, but the star players have shut themselves away in their homes, taking comfort under their blankets, etc., away from the outside world.
Akaashi and Midorima’s fathers, along with Kuroko’s mother, are arrested for their involvement in Teiko. Akashi’s mother is dead, Midorima’s mother never knew, and Kuroko’s father is out of the picture, so they were never included in the arrests.
Akaashi and Kuroko refuse to be placed in foster care, though, so there is conflict, but their former classmate, Nijimura Shuuzou, an undercover cop investigating Teiko, takes them in.
The Kiseki’s teams desperately do whatever they can to comfort their miracles, and become insanely overprotective. Kise is no longer hounded at for being clingy when he is desperate for affection and kindness, Aomine is not scorned for missing practice when he can barely stand to be in a court, Midorima is not found weird for his obsession with horoscopes when it is a coping mechanism, Murasakibara is handled with care and understanding, Akaashi is shown respect beyond his leadership skills, and Kuroko is shown a kind of attentiveness he does not get from anyone other than the Kiseki and their honorary member Momoi.
Etc. etc. I don’t know what else to put for this particular idea…
But I just love this kind of AU and really want to see more of it
Dunno if I'll ever post a story for it but it's here in case I ever do
