When your ex bf is the soon to be king of England
Nadia let out a low whistle. "Damn. Who is that?" She asked, giving the new person an up-down.
Dirty blond hair, ocean blue eyes, freckled cheekbones and perfectly tanned skin. He had on navy blue slacks and a matching blazer, along with a white dress shirt. There was a crest on the blazer's chest, and Pidge gasped. "Guys, that's the Prince of England."
Them and the others gaped at him as he talked to Shiro and Iverson.
"Hey guys! Whatcha-" James trailed off, looking at the prince.
Unlike the others, who were in uniform, he had on civvies. Skinny black jeans (Keith or Ryan would describe them as sinfully tight), a white v-neck, and a light blue denim jacket. "Fuck." He whispered, cheeks tinting pink. "Okay, if he asks, I'm not here." He told the others, backing away. "What? Why?" Nadia asked, grabbing his arm. "Um, well-" "There you are!" Shiro said, coming over, the Prince and Iverson following.
He started making introductions. "Prince Alexander, this is Pidge Holt, the green paladin of Voltron, Lance McClain, former blue and current red paladin, and two of our MFE Ares pilots, Nadia Rizavi and-" "James." Alexander finished, somewhat breathlessly.
His cheeks had also taken on a pink tint, and James smiled softly. "Hey Alex. Uh, long time no see." "Yeah." Alex said with a chuckle. "It's been what, six years?" "Something like that, yeah." James said, rubbing the back of his neck. "I hope a hug wouldn't be out of order.." Alex trailed, off, opening his arms. James smiled and stepped into his arms, and the two embraced. "Do you two know each other?" Iverson asked when they pulled apart. "Uh, yeah. We went to school together." James said. "Και βγαίναμε και για μερικούς μήνες." (And we used to date) Alex said, and James blushed. "Δεν χρειάζεται να το ξέρουν αυτό." (They don't need to know that)
"So, what bring you to the Garrison?" Nadia asked, and the prince turned away from James and to her. "Right! Well, after the war, England had some.. trouble, adjusting to the new way of things. There was a brief civil war, but things have cleared up now. But I was hoping we could work with the Garrison to try and maintain the peace. Especially since my coronation is soon." "I thought your parents were still in charge? And what about Mariana?" James asked. "Well, part of the reason for the civil war was how they were handling it. When the initial invasions began, my parents chose not to fight. And my sister fled the country, after she was found to have stolen millions from tax payments and government programs. The people were not exactly on board with someone from our family taking the throne."
"I thought the crown was more of a symbol? Doesn't Parliament handle the other stuff?" Pidge asked. "Usually, yes, but many of the members either didn't survive or have no wish to go back to politics. Luckily, I got sent to the Academy, so I know how it works, but with the country the way it is, I know a lot of people, myself included, would feel safer if we had the Garrison backing us up."
"Well, what did you have in mind?" Shiro asks.
"Well, I know it's a lot, but I was hoping a few of your soldiers could come. Just for the week before and after the coronation. There have been rumors of assasination plans, and I know for a fact that there're going to be several protests. I want to keep those as peaceful as possible." Alex explained.
"We'll send the paladins and MFES. Shiro, you and Veronica will accompany them. Then, to save time and resources, you call all return to England Sunday, on one of our ships." Iverson said with a smile. "Really?" Alex asked. "Really? The two paladins echoed. "Of course! Anything to help move England down it's road to recovery." Iverson assured with a smile. "Brilliant!" Alex said, shaking his hand. "Well, I assume I'll see you all at supper?" He asked, looking away from Iverson. It sounded like he was asking them all, but his eyes were focused on James. "Yep, we'll be there!" Nadia chirped, wrapping an arm around James's shoulder. "Now, James here was gonna help me with some repairs to my ship. See ya!" She pulled James away, the others following.
The second they were inside, they rushed to an empty meeting room. "Okay, spill." Pidge demanded. "How do you know the soon to be king of England?" They asked. James groaned and sat down, burying his face in his hands. "We used to go to school together. Pre-K through 4th grade, and then a summer program until we were 16." "And he has a crush on you." Nadia sang. James groaned again. "I know. He has for years."
"Well... do you like him back?" Pidge asked. "I don't know!" James exclaimed, sitting up and throwing his arms in the air. "I mean, yes, Alex is.. amazing. He's good looking, he's charming, he's nice- but I- I just don't know. And I haven't seen or talked to him in six years. But at the same time, there's also-" "Keith." Hunk interrupted. "Yeah." James whispered. "What about Keith?" Nadia asked.
"Well, let's assume Alex developed a crush on James when they were 15. That's also around the time when James and Keith were very close. Simply put, both Keith and Alex have had crushes on James for years and he doesn't know what to do." Hunk stated.
"That's not all. Me and Alex-" James sighed. "Alex came to town for a few weeks one summer. When we were 16. Him and Keith don't exactly like each other. Alex was there because... well, because we were dating."
"YOUR EXBOYFRIEND IS THE PRINCE OF ENGLAND???" Nadia and Pidge shrieked. "Yes! And can you keep it down? I don't want everyone to know." James chides. "Why not? That's huge!" Nadia says. "It was only maybe four months! And it wasn't that serious." "Fo- you dated this prince of England for four months?" Pidge asked lowly. "Yes, but we were only 16!"
"Whoa. What's going on in here?" Shiro asked, walking in.
"James knows the prince because school or something and he had a crush on him around the same time Keith did and apparently they both still like him and James and the prince dated for four months when they were 16 but the prince and Keith don't like each other because they both like James but now he's confused because now he's gonna be around them both and he's probably gonna have a gay panic and James used to date the prince of England." Nadia said, finishing in a high pitched voice.
"Whoa." Shiro says. "Wait, you used to date the prince?" James blushed and nodded. "Who dated the prince?" Iverson asked. "Griffin apparently." Shiro answered. Iverson's eyes widened. "Whoa. Wait, maybe this is a good thing." He said, beginning to rub his chin and pace the room. "How is it a good thing?" Pidge asked. "Well, Griffin has strong ties with the crown. England has lots of resources. Yes, they're in a bit of disarray, but their infrastructure is strong. Mostly clean drinking water. Their land is almost completely undamaged, and would be ideal for crops and livestock."
"Hold on." James said, putting a hand up. "If I'm right, you're trying to get at me using my friendship with Alex and his feelings for me to benefit the Garrison?" Iverson hummed dismissively. "No! No way, nuh uh, not happening." "Griffin, it would be for the best." Shiro says. "No! I'm not doing that to Alex." James declared, standing. "If you want England's help with rebuilding after the war, that's great, but I will not catfish someone I've known almost my whole life." "We're not asking for you to do that. We're asking if you would try and sway his judgement." Iverson says.
"By doing what exactly? If you say anything that would involve any kind of romantic relationship, you're out of you mind and out of line." "Nothing like that. If is happens, it happens. But the prince likes you. He'll listen." Iverson amends. "So you want me to manipulate him?" James asks, glaring at him. "Well, no. Not exactly." James huffed. "I can't believe we're even having this conversation. Okay, listen." He demanded. "I will not be using my friendship with Alex to help you, or the Garrison, or the Coalition. I will not suggests he go along with anything. If he asks my opinion, I will give him it, but I will not try to persuade him into doing anything. And you will not use my name, saying I agree with the policies or anything. Leave me out of your politics. My only job in England will be to protect the people, not try and manipulate their prince.
SMUT AHEAD
Alex cupped James's cheek, tilting his face up a bit. Their eyes met, and his own flicked down towards James's lips. He leaned in, and his lips met the others. James's hands were on his chest, and he was worried he'd push him away, but instead, he pulled him closer, kissing back. They broke apart for air, and Alex blushed. "I- um, that was- wow." James giggled.
/holy shit he actually giggled/
"Can- can I-" "Yes." James said, already pulling him in.
They somehow ended up in Alex's room, unbelievably not seen by anyone. Alex pushed him down onto the bed, climbing ontop of him and recapturing his lips. "Mm, Alex." James said, pushing him back a bit. But he kept going in for more kisses. "A- Alex. We-mm- we should- talk about this." Alex back away, putting his hands on the sides of James's head. "What about it?" "We shouldn't be doing this." James said bluntly. "There's a lot of things we shouldn't do Jamie. But some rules are meant to be broken." He leaned down and kissed him, but James pushed him away. "No feelings. This is just a one-night thing." James said. Alex tried to ignore the pain in his heart at that statement. "No feelings." He agreed. He expected James to make him promise or shake on it, something like that.
He wasn't expecting James to wrap his arms around his neck and begin making out with him. And for him, later, to be riding him. "God James, look at you." He moaned. "So gorgeous."
James really was gorgeous. Abs clenching as he rode him, thighs tensing, nails digging into his shoulders.
