"It is totally a date"

Arya's words were tossing and turning inside our young woman's head as she was making her way into the lowkey crowded sushi place. She has been silent during the whole trip here, only to make Jinhwa worried about having said or done something she shouldn't have.

"Are you okay, Ailen?"

Shaken out of her thoughts, Ailen looks up at the woman who just called her. With a reassuring smile on, she is looking absolutely stunning, making it even harder for our protagonist to think straight (wink wink).

"- I am fine, sorry. I was just somehow lost in my thoughts...

- Did something happen, maybe?

- Oh no, it's nothing, she answers, smiling. We should order; I'm so hungry I could die."

Laughing at her friend, Jinhwa nods before calling a waiter and ordering her usual set, which she had specifically invited Ailen for.

"- You'll see, it is my favorite sushi ever! I'm sure you'll love it!

- If you are the one who recommend it, I don't see how I could not"

Slightly blushing, the tall woman shakes her head before looking right at the black girl sitting in front of her.

"Are you sure you don't want to talk about what is happening? I can see you are getting in your head here"

Thinking back about the hell of a day she just had, Ailen can feel her hands shaking. Trying to hide them, she doesn't even realize that Jinhwa is reaching for them.

"Hey, look at me; it's fine. I'm here now."

Not being able to answer, the American simply nods, tears starting to fall from her dark brown eyes. The past month has been an emotional rollercoaster for our protagonist, and almost being fired in the morning did not help at all. She has been bottling up to not worry her friends, but nothing was going according to plan, and it was stressing the shit out of her.

"Being far from home and having to work for that company must have been hard, but you are doing amazingly well, I promise."

Smiling through her watery eyes, Ailen quickly changes the subject as the food starts to arrive.

"- Let's take a picture! she says, determined to spend a good night

- Sure !"

From the numerous plates on the table to a trillion of selfies, pictures are being taken from every angle by both our young women who are enjoying their night out together.

"Let's dig in! I'll share our pictures on Insta after; if you're fine with it

- Sure am, sweetheart!"

The sudden nickname takes Ailen by surprise, as she almost shocks on her first piece of sashimi. Never in her life had she been treated so well by someone that attractive (not that her friends were not pretty, but you get her). And to be completely honest, she finds it somehow pleasing. Though, deep down, she knows that her lifelong singleness is probably the reason she feels like that. Of course, Jinhwa is really nice on top of being absolutely gorgeous, but is she really what Ailen is looking for? She, herself, wouldn't know.

Shaking her head in order to break it free from the questions assaulting it, she brings her attention back to the table, where three-quarters of the food has already been eaten.

"What do you say we go for a walk after?"

Surprised by the sudden proposition of her friend, Jinhwa doesn't even take a second to nod, obviously excited.

And so, about twenty minutes later, once the meal is paid for, both our young women end up next to the famous Han River, which is only more beautiful at night.

Slowly walking side by side, they eventually reach a small convenience store, and, without a word, they both enter. Not even five minutes later, they both come out, Jinhwa with two cans of beer and Ailen with some fried chicken - a perfect combo.

Heading to a free spot on the grass, they both sit down.

"건배!"

Sipping on the fresh beer and looking at the stars, the night felt nice. Taking some more pictures, they are soon laughing heartily as they forget about whatever problems they might have, free from any thoughts.

They weren't drunk on alcohol but on life, enjoying every minute of this peaceful night and talking about whatever.

It is only when she receives a message from Meri asking whether she will be back soon that reality comes back, hitting Ailen like a truck. Tomorrow she will have to go back to work, but it is fine. She did not come all the way to Korea to be depressed. She has friends and even knows Enhypen personally now! It might not be easy every day, but she is ready to show the Universe that she is stronger.

Once in front of their dorm (the international and domestic dorms of SNU are side by side), it is time for the young women to wish themselves good night.

"- I had an amazing night, thank you Ailen

- I should be the one thanking you; it was really great, and we should definitely go out again sometime!

- Anytime for you dear"

A smirk on her face, Jinhwa quickly turns around before waving to Ailen and heading back to her room.

Not letting the redness get to her cheeks, the American quickly climbs the stairs to the apartment.

Knowing she'd be showered with questions the second she'd got back, she rushes to her room, faking a headache.

It is only once showered and comfortably laying in her bed that she allows herself to take a break and think back about the night as she scrolls through the numerous pictures she took, posting some on Instagram.

It sure was an amazing night

On the other side of the night, someone seems to not be able to sleep as he indefinitely scrolls through his private Instagram feed.

No one but his teammates knows the existence of this account, as they each created one together in secret.

Never in history has a notification been clicked on so quickly, and never has the regret of doing so been so strong.

"So she really had a date, huh"

That night, Park Sunghoon had a hard time sleeping, wondering why his mind was so crowded with the thought of that pretty intern.
