Behind The Scene

Entering his company's intern's dorm for the first time, the black-haired rapper can't help but look around after putting down the suitcase he was carrying.

The loft is divided into two floors, with the living and dining rooms, as well as the kitchen, downstairs. Upstairs, you can find the five bedrooms as well as two bathrooms, allowing the occupants to have their alone time and not fight for the shower like they used to when they spent their week in the small apartment.

Wondering how five students in a foreign country can afford that big of an apartment, our young man keeps the question in the back of his mind, planning on asking it later on.

He is pulled out of his thoughts by a worried shout coming from upstairs. Imitating the three other people who were also in the living room with him, he runs toward the stairs in search of the one who made that sound.

As the four of them climb the stairs, they discover the young Indian leaning on a ginger-haired woman, who is lying down.

"Fuck, Meri."

Not giving himself the time to double think what he is doing, Jay rushes to the Finns and picks her up before bringing her downstairs. He looks as lost as ever, not knowing what to do with the young woman in his arms. He would like to scream for help, but no sounds come out of his mouth.

"We have to bring her to the hospital, she is burning; he hears Arya behind him"

The van. The van that brought them here is still there; they have to be quick. With no words needed, they all run out of the dorm to the black car, still parked at the same place, the singer's manager in front of it.

"Don't ask any question, to the hospital, right now"

Fortunately, the closest hospital (Boramae Hospital of Seoul) is only twelve minutes away by car. They arrive safely after less than ten minutes of fast riding, which nearly caused them to collide with another car at one point.

Jay, with Meri still in his arms, is the first to enter the huge building in search of a nurse, a doctor, or something. It takes two minutes for Meri to be taken care of as two nurses take her to a separate room for an analysis.

After being told to wait outside, the small group can only pace the corridor, with Jay looking as if he could explode at any moment. It is only when he feels a hand on his shoulder that he is brought back to reality.

"She is going to be fine, Jay. I promise."

The look that Ailen gives him making him understand that his concern can be seen on his face, he calms down a bit before sitting on one of the chairs in front of the room Meri is in.

A few seconds later, his manager enters the passageway with an apologetic look on his face.

" - I have warned the company about what is happening, but they asked you to come back right away.

- What do you mean, come back? Jay answers violently. I can't just leave them here alone...

- I know, and I am sorry, but it's not like you have a choice. And you know it"

Having a hard time containing his anger, Jay is immediately calmed down by the nurse coming out. They all rush towards her as she begins with a reassuring smile.

"You don't have to worry; her condition is stable. She might have passed out because of the lack of nutrients in her body and the fatigue. We gave her a dose of sedative as well as an infusion so she could recover quickly. You can now go and see her"

Showering the nurse with thanks, they all quietly enter the room where Meri is laying, sleeping. Arya, allowing herself to relax, turns toward Jay.

"You should go now, or else you might get in trouble

- But

- There is no "but", we will let you know as soon as she wakes up I promise, says Nai"

Simply nodding, the young man gives a last look to the ginger before heading to his dorm.

The way there takes place in silence as Jay's mind tortures him with questions and doubts. He barely knows her, so why is he so worried? Up until today, he was just finding it fun to annoy Meri, but he never thought he would get attached.

No. There is no way he is giving in to someone. He cannot bear to lose his temper for someone. He doesn't have the right to.

Today was just tiring, and that's why he reacted like that. Of course, he got worried and angry because his mind and body were tired; it can happen to anyone. That must be it; tomorrow he will be fine, and he won't think about this anymore. He won't even have to meet the interns next week anyway, so all this nonsense will stop.

Putting himself in a kind of denial mode, he arrives home with the biggest smile before heading to the room the seven of them share. It is about three hours later, when he is done changing clothes in order to go for the late afternoon practice, that he receives a text from his manager saying that he just got a call from Kai announcing that Meri is awake.

"It's okay, Jay; you don't have to think about it anymore."

The first thing she sees as she opens her eyes are four worried faces above her.

"What the hell is happening here?"

Her throat is sore, and she is having a hard time speaking, but the next thing she knows, four pairs of arms are wrapping her up in a hug.

"You can't imagine how worried we were, says a teary-eyed Nai"

All of her friends nod as she tries to remember what could have happened for her to end up here. Everything is blurry in her mind, but she kind of recalls wanting to prepare some snacks to welcome the four others who sent her a text announcing that they would be there soon. And from there, it's all just blank. Although not exactly all, in the midst of consciousness and unconsciousness she remembers being picked up by...

"Jay"

The curious faces staring at her are starting to make her doubt what she saw when Kai says,

" - He really saved you on that one not gonna lie

- We were really lucky that he was there, else I have no idea how we would have brought you here, continues Arya

- You might have to thanks him later on, concludes Nai"

Jay really was-

"- Wait. That means he saw me lying on the floor as weak as ever?

- I, uh, yes?"

Ailen's answer makes her head spin. If she was already mad at having to bear her friend's worried and pitiful stares, she is now close to throwing everything out. Within less than a day, five people saw her at her lowest, even though she had made a promise to herself to always be at the top and to never show any weakness. What is going to happen now? Will she be seen as weak? Will they always be behind her to make sure she is doing fine? Will he see her as vulnerable?

No. She has to be tough. She can't allow him to see within her flaws. She doesn't have the right to.
