Friday went by quite quickly as they were so busy storing everything for the shooting that would be going on the next day. On the morning, they thought a lot about whether they should go see the filming process. Actually, they did not think that much, as it was pretty obvious that all of them wanted to see a MV shooting with their own eyes.
And here we are, Saturday morning at 7 a.m., in the loft of our five interns, who are as sleepy as ever. Understandable given that they only got home around midnight last night due to an unexpected amount of work left to do at the company. They are sure that most of the staff never went home and are just going straight to the filming site. Luckily for our protagonists, the place rented by BELIFT is their university's American football field and its theater, meaning they would only have to walk fifteen minutes to reach it. However, as the time goes by, Arya notices that they have not seen Meri since they woke up. She rushes to her friend's room and, after unsuccessfully knocking, uses the spare key to quietly enter, only to find the young woman lying on her bed, looking sick.
"Meri ?ย she mutters.ย Are you okay?"
Not getting any answer, she decides to walk to the bed and put a hand on her friend's forehead.
"My god, Meri, you are running a fever!"
Hearing their friend's shout, the three other housemates rush in, wondering what might be happening. Arya angrily shushes them before going out of the room and closing the door.
" - She might have caught a cold yesterday. It was really windy when we came back, and she only had a tank top on.
- What are we going to do?ย asks Kai.ย We can't leave her here alone, and we can't cancel the shoot at the last minute.
- You guys can go, answers Arya,ย I will stay here with her and I will join you later on if her condition gets better.
- Are you sure?ย wonders Nai
- You really wanted to go,ย continues Ailen.ย I can stay here instead of you, I already had the occasion to attend a similar event back in the-
- No one will stay here for me"
Startled by the sudden loud voice behind them, the four friends turn to the door, which was closed two minutes ago, only to find Meri slouching on it.
"- What do you mean? We obviously won't let you here when you can barely stand up.
- I am perfectly fine, Nai.
- You are not.
- I said, "I am perfectly fine", Kai. Now you better hurry, or I'm chasing you down myself."
Not knowing what to do, they just stand here looking at each other and then at their friend. They can't just leave, can they?
"- I swear to God, who made you all so stubborn?
- You are the stubborn one here,ย says Ailen
-ย You can call me every five minutes if you want, but I don't want you to miss this opportunity because of me..."
Sighing, Arya looks at the Finns. A part of her can't stand to just go without looking back, but the other part knows that the ginger head would be guilty if any of them were to miss the event because of her.
"- We'll go only if you promise to call us if you don't feel well
- Arya we can't just-
- It is Meri's choice whether she wants someone here with her or not, Kai. We must respect that."
Smiling gratefully, Meri nods, promising to send a message at least once every hour and to call if anything goes south.
And so, with a twinge of regret, Nai, Kai, Ailen, and Arya walk to the door after checking on their friend at least five times. Going back to her bed, Meri quickly falls asleep, still exhausted.
After a fifteen-minute walk in the most heavy silence, our little group finally reaches the location where the filming will take place. I mean, where the shooting is already taking place, as they walk in to cameras already shooting the football field to determine the best angles.
They quickly find the tent of the fashion team, where Mrs. Kim is waiting for them as she had already been warned by text message that Meri would not be able to attend.
The time to put down their belongings not even given to them; they are already being solicited to put together the last accessories for the first outfits. The shooting with the members should start in about fifteen minutes, and the guys are said to be still at the make-up tent. When they finally enter five minutes later, they quickly realize that someone is missing. Jay is the first to comment.
"- Aren't you guys supposed to be five?
- Meri has a cold and is resting at home,ย says Nai."
The curious and somehow worried look on the black-haired man's face is the only answer they get before the seven artists head to the fitting part of the tent. They all hurry to get dressed before the head stylist inspects their outfits to ensure nothing is missing or out of place.
Our four friends must say that they all kind of look good in that football suit. And as they rush to the field to film the first scene, the young women can't help but wonder how they got from their boring and depressing lives to here.
The football scene will only last about ten seconds in the music video, so they are able to wrap it up in less than an hour. Now, the mission is to take all the material near the theater that will be used for the second scene, and that includes all the suitcases and the fitting stuff of the fashion team. Luckily, as the boys are done dressing back into their formal wear, they come to lend a hand to our four interns, cluttered with clothes.
The time allotted for the camera director to consult with the producer is an opportunity for the Enhypen guys to change yet again. This time it is their "vampire outfit" that they put on, and as Jay looks at Arya lacing his shirt, he remembers his idea of doing a ribbon that Meri rejected quite coldly two days ago.
As he is smiling, he also catches the smile of his leader, whose shirt is being taken care of by Nai. Ever since he first met the mixed young woman, Jungwon has had his head in the clouds. Not only he, but Jake had also been acting strange for the past two days. If it weren't for Sunoo and Heesung, who told them about the "Kai incident", they would have never known. His curiosity peaked, he takes the time to observe every single one of them and notices that the commotion is going on in both parties. Nai is as smiley as Jungwon and Ailen is obviously flustered next to Sunghoon.
It really seems as if those five interns brought some kind of virus into their group and vice versa, and he is curious as to how this will evolve.
But now isn't the time to think about it, as he now has to walk into the huge theater for the second half of the shoot. Once again, the shooting goes by pretty quickly. An hour for the team shot and about half an hour for all seven individual shots.
As they see the idols walking out, questions start rushing through their heads.
"- Weren't the shooting supposed to last two days? How can they already be done?ย queries Kai
- Usually the company rents the place for two days in order to also shoot a variety program, so they kill two birds with one stone,ย answers Mrs. Kim.ย They usually have the afternoon to discuss what will be going on, and the next day is filming day. But since they were already brief yesterday, I believe we will all be going home now."
This information is quickly confirmed by the management team as everyone starts to pack up everything in order to leave as quickly as possible.
"- You guys live nearby, right?ย asks Mrs. Kim.ย Would it bother you to keep the suitcases with the shoes for tomorrow's shoot with you, so we won't have to bring them back?
- It wouldn't have been a problem,ย answers Ailen.ย But we have at least fifteen minutes to walk and a significant slope.
- You can come with us!"
The American who shouted, runs to them, followed by his manager.
"We use two vans, and I am alone in the second one today, so you can hop in with the two luggages."
Turning to the man behind him, he asks.
"It isn't a problem, right?"
In less than ten minutes, the four of them are sitting in the van between the two luggages, Jay in the front seat. Not so sure about what just happened, they all share the same thought.
"Why do I feel like this isn't going to go well"ย
