Betrayal always leaves a Trace behind it
The training room looked like a gray room with paddled matts. There were 3 walls that each had long ranged,close ranged and medium ranged weapons.
“I’ll have you fight each other and how to apply it to your weapon that we specialized for your abilities which you will find on the walls” okumi announced while shrugging her shoulders
Arlene got paired up with Jade after picking up her weapon, examining it soon after it was an iron battle ax that had two sharp edges that curved with electricity near the end of the two blades. The handle is ebony wood with 2 canary lines that swooop together at the top. Jade grabbed two leather scabbards one was green which rested on her hip and the other was black which was on her leg.
Arlene threw her ax towards her hip at a side angle. Jade stepped backwards and unsheathed the dagger on her leg as well as the one on her hip Looking at me with a intense gaze, She swung the green ones towards my leg but instead of a dagger coming, a snapdragon came and latched onto my leg that left a bursting gash on my leg. They felt searing pain as it latched on, “Gah!” So they groaned in response. Arlene swung my ax at the head out of instinct, it turned out to be a Venus flytrap instead of a plant, My eyes widened at the sight. The flytrap disappeared when the ax hit it Tho after that Arlene summoned her energy into the ax causing a little shock to go through her hand and bolted towards her hip to throw her off her feet in which Arlene succeeded, a surge of optimism pumped through my body after my feat . She trapped her legs around jades hips while wrapping my wings around her body in order to immobilize her. So she couldn’t get out of my grip Arlene tried to throw a punch at her head but she moved her head sideways and rolled me over so it was the opposite which made my confidence go down
“Your fighting Is good…” Jade mumbled while blushing a little
Arlene took that opportunity to wack her in the head with my wings. Her hair fell down in a messy heave covering part of her eyes making the sun reflect off her hair as a result. Her eyes looked like the deepest parts of the night sky with stars as lumensaint resin. It was as if every celestial beauty fit into her face and figure, she’s glowing. Her hair shined perfectly with it, a shiny emerald that was crafted meticulously with perfection couldn’t do that, in my eyes she looked like an angel, ethereal and majestic. Her lips were so plumb and luscious so kissable- she’s the enemy remember that dumbass
Arlene blushed massively but somehow hid It before summoning her blade in her left hand and stabbing her side, managing to draw a deep red color. Jade gasped while she looked like a bundle of fear was washed over her face. She threw a branch that had a hand at the end at my throat but Arlene hit the branch with my ax while kicking at her gut. Jade stumbled back before grabbing her stomach and coughing out blood, summoning another branch but with a sharp point this time soon after. Arlene tried dogeing to the right but it went through her right arm and caused it to bleed. She screamed out of pain and started to realize the fight was flipped tables instantly so she beat her wings to cause a massive wall of air to push jade to the ground in which she fell to the ground. I heard an ear splitting sound but ignored it since she didn’t have time for it and summoned two of my lightning spears then proceeded to throw both of them at her arms so she couldn’t use her daggers. She gave me a death glare that caused me to hesitate out of fear as She was diving towards her
Arlene then held her legs down with my knees after grabbing her throat and putting light pressure on it. Jade called out venus flytrap with a strained voice thus summoning her venus flytrap aimed for my neck. As Arlene put more pressure on jade’s throat the flytrap clamped down on her neck causing her to wither in pain from the wound, and almost choke Jade out of instinct
Okumi branded mine and jade's neck with mannequins imprinted on our necks that made us stop fighting. My body fell onto Jade's chest from exhaustion soft.. she thought in a dreamy state but soon realized what she was laying on afterwards and quickly sat up afterwards turning to face okumi since it wasn’t appropriate for the time
“It’s a tie. You two fought well. I thought we were going to have another champion.” Okumi said with a amused grin “but you did sustain a lot of injuries so i think you two will need to sit out for the next rounds on the bench “
Arlene sat down on the bench next to Jade close to her.
“You were blushing when we were fighting” Jade stated while looking at me in the eyes
“W-what no I wasn’t haha” she said awkwardly while laughing
Jade just looked away before spacing out looking dead inside in order to avoid more talk. Arlene took that chance to scoot closer and bump her hand against mine while looking away to not cause Suspicion but eventually she looked over out of curiosity and Jade looked like she was embarrassed and having multiple thoughts at once. The sight was mirthful, amusing even but I caught myself feeling playful so she decided to further this. Arlene layed down sideways on the bench afterwards laying her head in her lap, looking at her with a smile on my face. She just had a flustered look on face accompanied by blushing
“I-I um… h-how are your w-wounds Arlene” Jade said clearly sounding feeling like she was in love
“Oh their healing faster then normal since these weapons have healing properties” Arlene said casually while smiling at her since she was feeling as playful as a cat as each second passed by
She ran my hands through her hair and later curling it. Her hair felt heavenly,like a cloud It's as if you're floating in space or running on clouds and marshmallows, it’s as soft as a feather, almost softer Jade made a little hum in satisfaction barely below a whisper hoping nobody noticed. Arlene smiled softly at the sight, feeling adoration towards her. She stopped touching her hair so she could trace her jaw, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear while saying you look lovely like that dear. Jade was looking wide eyed at me and her face was redder than a tomato. She was fumbling words trying to say a single sentence because of her bashful state. Arlene just giggled at her
“Y-your.. laughing “ Jade somehow managed to get out but still stumbling on her words looking dumbstruck
Arlene weakly said yes and continued to giggle while gripping onto her shoulder. She just looked away shyly
After training stopped she went up to Jade asking her if she knows anything about Eleanor or Alex’s sister.she just said she didn’t know anything about both of them but she heard some rumors earlier
“Apparently Alex and okumi knew each other way before the arena and they were some of the first people here but Alex was a black sheep omug them since he came in 1 month after the scientist were their” Jade explained to me
“So this place was a lab? Before the arena, how did the arena get formed then?” Arlene asked feeling confused
Jade just shrugged and said you should ask okumi pretending to care and going back to her food
She shot up frustrated since none of this was making sense and I’m only getting more questions, flouncing to my jailbed with bitterness
“Let’s try to piece this together with what we have” she said to myself and pacing around my room in circles
“Alex and Eleanor we’re siblings who died and ended up in limbo. They started searching for a place together when they stumbled upon a lab… Alex somehow got into a career as a doctor and scientist here while his sister somehow became a part of this by helping them but one day She got out and ruined the games that resulted in the whole crowd getting destroyed so I’m assuming okumi caged her without a way to get out or be seen ever again” she said out loud reviewing the evidence in my head “But there’s info missing from certain parts and it doesn’t seem in chronological order”
Arlene went to the library determined to find out more. when she got there she heard a commotion from in the hallway over. Curious and surprised they went over and peaked through a crack. They saw Alex backed up to a wall with okumi towering over him
“We are all just pawns in your game aren't we?!… sick bastard” okumi yelled at Alex looking like she was ready to pounce on him
P-pawn…? Game…? That makes sense he wants to burn down this place by using us they thought with horror, suddenly shivering at the cold air wafting through the library
“Ironic coming from the person who suggested the… and enjoyed it… yes! They deserve it, did you not see…” Alex chuckled at the first part but roared back looking equally as pissed at the second
Arlene shuddered at the look in his eyes, he looked like he had murder in mind
“Well if you didn’t help your sister then maybe she wouldn’t be…” okumi said sarcastically
“YOU DID THAT! She tried to be peaceful but you guys decided no and EXPERIMENTED on her instead so I’m going to make sure the same doesn’t happen to Arlene and make her help me burn this down!” Alex yelled with a voice that boomed across the library covering every nook and cranny
“Special human” that must be the experiments they have going on so she’s a experimentation that’s sick no wonder he wants to burn this down he wants revenge on his sister against okumi specifically since she caused most of this, that also explains why he was so nice to me and some gaps in the story this exactly so much
Arlene became sick like she was going to throw up and started gagging at the thought of experimenting but confident in solving his backstory at the same time
Okumi attempted to knock Alex out but Alex muttered absolute darkness and all she could see was absence of light. She started to panic with pupils dilated, goosebumps rising across her skin while losing her confidence at the same time since she couldn’t see what was happening
