Chapter 7
Emu had been told to move on by countless people, but moving on from love was easier said than done. She had lived through horrible events, but even then, what she witnessed that night on the mountain was what brought her the most grief. She gave up on love. She gave up on humans. Nothing was worth trying to enjoy life. They would all disappear one day or another, so what was the point? Life was nothing but misery.
By this point, Emu lived in a science lab, where they held tests on her, trying to find the cause of her immortality, despite Emu telling the scientists many times. She looked roughly ninety and had marks down her eyes from here the tears would run down her face. As well as that, whenever there was a new medicine, or really anything that they needed a human test subject for, they would call Emu. She had tasted countless concoctions, maybe one or two good ones, and had countless experiments slapped on her face, which caused rashes, a plague, lung cancer and a grazed knee (that one was from a lip gloss - god knows how it caused that).
One day, Emu was sent into the lab to try a new medicine, so the scientists made her sit down and shoved a tablet in her mouth. Nothing out of the ordinary, as this was how most medicine tests went, but just before she passed out she saw two men walk in. She recognised one of them instantly - it was the shade of piss yellow that gave it away - and he was accompanied with what could only be described as a purple highlighter. Could it be the really super attractive one the Tsukasa wouldn’t shut up about all those years ago? Emu didn’t think so. From what she could remember, he was about as attractive as a pair of toe socks. That’s when she completely blacked out.
