Board games 4 ( this time it's good)
“So Willow wins again. I have a good way to make it so that she can’t just simply can’t win." Everyone looks at her with curiosity
"The next game is The Game of Life and it’s a four-player game. I suggest Willow and Hunter team up and split their assets. Do you guys agree?”
Luz pulled out a car and added one blue peg and one pink peg.
Willow looked like she was blushing though it was hard to tell (that might be a good sign) Hunter was both glaring murderously at Luz and blushing like crazy.
Willow spoke up “I’m in if Hunter is”
Hunter blushed too “I'm in if you are, and you already said you're in so I’m in”
Amity spoke up “Why didn’t you suggest that for us”
Luz looked at her girlfriend in horror. How had she forgotten even for a second? “We could play as a team too”
Amity softened looking at Luz “It’s okay we can play separately it might be more fair for Gus.”
Her girlfriend was amazing.
Luz explains the rules.
“If you land on a yellow space then you draw an action card. I’ll explain as we go on but firstly you choose between college and career path.
For the college path, you need to pay a hundred k of the two hundred k you start with to the bank but you most likely will get a higher-paying job. If you go with the career path you don’t have to pay out the 100k but you most likely will get a lower-paying job.”
"I’m going to go career path because I’m curious how it will go. Also, I'm iffy about whether I could stand human college."
“I’ll go with the college path" Amity volunteers almost immediately
“So will I” Gus cuts in
“Willow “ Hunter turns to her “if you want to go with a college path you should. I have a lot of experience in work so I could likely get a high-paying job without college. Then we would have 300k and you’d have a good job.”
"That’s not how it works Hunter” Luz sighs it's sweet that he's being noble but unnecessary
Willow looks him in the eye “No way." She exclaims "I'm not going to let you take some miserable job besides the college path sounds like it will be most worthwhile in the long run.”
Luz butts in before Hunter realizes how close he is to Willow and freaks out. “The game doesn’t operate on experience. Your experience won’t earn you any bonus. Taking the career path will simply leave you with a lower-paying job”
Hunter nods “Okay then if it’s okay with Willow I’ll take the college path that way I earn more.”
I suggest for moves both of you spin and divide the number by two if you have an odd number you’ll round up if it’s one through five and round down if it’s six through ten”
Hunter and Willow nod. "I suggest we spin to see who goes first. After we pick our cars."
Gus grabs blue, Willow grabs green (after looking at Hunter for confirmation), Amity grabs pink and that leaves Luz with yellow which suits her just fine.
“I’ll spin for determination first”
“Seven“ Gus announces.

“I’ll go next” Luz declares.
She blinked at her spin
“Ten,” she says uncertainty
Amity smiles at her. Amity's smile is so nice. Nice isn't a good enough word but she'd find a better one later.
Willow goes next
She grimaces “Three”
Then Hunter “Five he says”
Amity is the last “seven”
“Gus and Amity tied,” Willow says
“I suggest they respin to see who goes second and who goes third
Amity spins; she gets a 10
Gus gets a 5
Before we start you should know that the first person to reach retirement gets four hundred k all the way down to the last person who gets one hundred k
“So first is me then Amity then Gus then Willow and Hunter” She wishes she could give up her spot but that wasn’t fair.
“Okay,” Luz draws the top two do I want to be a chef or firefighter? Both are 50k? I think I choose firefighter.”
“Now I spin”
Luz spun. She got a 5. She moved forward 5 spaces and went past 2 paydays Hunter passed her 100k
Amity went next she spun a 9 and landed on an action space
"buy a designer suit" Amity’s face scrunched up “Pay the bank thirty k” “Luz patted Amity’s hand
“Sorry”
Amity smiled at her. “It's okay.”
Gus went and got a 1. He drew an action card. "Win a skateboarding competition and collect a hundred k" he fist-pumped and grabbed his money from the bank.
Hunter spun next and got a 3. Willow spun and got a 5. They moved forward 4 spaces they landed on an action square “Treasure hunt” Hunter reads
“Everyone spins for buried treasure
"one through five is fifty k"
six through ten is one hundred k”
Luz gets a five so does Amity. Gus Hunter and Willow all get threes
Willow passes everyone 50k. Hers and Hunter’s total to 100k
Luz spins for her second turn and gets a 2 she pulls an action card. "Sell flowers from your garden and collect seventy k" she reads triumphantly. Hunter passes her the 70k.
Amity spins a 4 and reaches graduation she plucks the top 2 cards from the stack.
Secret agent: 100k
Videogame designer: 110k
Amity chooses the video game designer
Luz remembers just in time to tell her; "You can spin again since you hit a stop." Amity does and lands on an action
"Promotion! Your hard work pays off. Collect ten k times your spin from the bank" She spins a 3 and grabs her money from the bank
Amity gets a four and grabs 40k from the bank.
Gus gets a second one “Paint a beautiful masterpiece. Spin to see what it’s worth
one through four ten k
five through eight twenty k
nine through ten thirty k
Gus gets a 4 and Willow passes him the money
Hunter spins a 7 and Willow gets a 1 they move forward 4 again
“Build a maze everyone loves it” Willow read “Collect fifty k from the bank” Hunter adds one hundred k to their pile
Luz spins again and passes a payday hunter hands her a payday before she can grab one. Her spin is large enough to take her to the marriage square. Luz spins and gets an even. Those were black. "Red is fifty k Black is a hundred k"
“Pay up” Luz declared she was regretting not sitting in a seat right now. She couldn’t recline dramatically
Hunter narrowed his eyes at her. “Hold on how do we know that’s true.”
Was Hunter saying what she thought he was? “What? Do you think I’m lying?”
“Potentially”
“You don’t trust me?!”
“Not in the current moment. It would be the most detrimental to my team if you were lying as we have to pay two hundred k while everyone else must only pay one hundred k”
Luz passes him the rules.
He looks them over and then looks guilty “I’m sorry for my mistaken assumption”
“It’s okay I know you get suspicious. Now that I passed the marriage square first I put a person in the car."
Luz hesitates between the two pegs the idea of picking one blue or pink was wrong- the game was definitely built without bisexuality, bi-romanticism, or anything other than straightness in mind.
Gus was also looking slightly unsettled at the pegs. So was Willow.
Hunter was too busy looking at Willow.
Just then Luz had an idea. "Wait a second" She dashed to her room grabbed what she was looking for and then dashed back. Luz grabbed a peg without looking at it and dunked it in the lavender paint.
"Now it's a mix between blue and pink problem solved." She put the peg in the car and wiped the excess paint off on her leg.
“Now that I’m married I spin again.” A weird look appeared on Hunter’s face before she spun.
Give money to a wildlife rescue, said the card from the action space she landed on. She gave the bank the two 10ks she had gotten from her 70k card
Amity spun. The 10 she got let her pass 2 paydays. After she paid Hunter she grabbed two 100ks from the bank as well as Luz’s discarded 10ks. The action card she drew made her lose 50k which she handed to the bank
Gus spun a third one and landed on another action space. “Start a snail farm. Pay the bank fifty k” he dejectedly handed Willow a 50k
Hunter got a 2 and Willow got an 8. Together 5 space forward takes them up to the graduation space
“Wait a second” Luz notices the spin you got an 8 and 2 right?”
“Yes,” Hunter says cautiously
“Those are the numbers on Amity’s and my card you have to pay us each 20k”
Luz is gratified to see that Hunter doesn’t challenge her truthfulness this time. He hands the money over to Luz with very little fuss and so does Willow to Amity.
Hunter draws 2 cards off the top
Scientist: 100k
Doctor: 130k
Hunter carefully grabs the doctor card before returning the scientist one to the bottom
Willow grabs 2 cards off the top
Teacher: 100k
Fassion designer: 70k
Her expression looks sour for a second before she grins and grabs the teacher card. “I don’t know how I’d be at teaching but it seems like it’d be worth a shot.”
Hunter and Willow spin again Hunter gets a 2 for which he pays Luz and Willow gets a 5 that rounds up to another 4 which lands them on a payday.
Hunter grabs 130k While willow grabs 100k
This time Luz is the person who got a 1. She reads her action card. "Build a home cinema pay the bank fifty k." She reluctantly hands over the cash.
Amity gets a 10. Hunter raises a hand and explains formally that 10 is the number on his job card. Amity grumbles something under her breath before handing the money over
She gets a black and, while everyone adds the money to her stack she fixes a pink peg in her car. She smiles over at Luz afterwards a slight blush on her cheeks Luz smiles and blushes back.
Amity spins again
She passes a payday with her 9 earning 110k. Her action card says she’s buying a tropical aquarium and to pay 20k.
Hunter looks like he’s smiling as he adds her money to the bank
Gus spun a 6 this time he was the one to have not yet reached the career square.
He groaned when he realized what he had landed on. “I don’t have enough to pay Willow. What do I do?”
You take out a loan Luz explained handing him a loan slip
“Invent a dancing robot. Pick an opponent” he read "Both spin to see who the robot is named after bank pays the highest spinner a hundred k" Willow looks like she had the second least so I’ll compete against her. Gus went first he got a 5 Hunter's first try co the pointer stuck but his second was a 5 Willow got a nine totaling out to a seven. Willow grabbed the 100k
Willow chirped I know you spun higher than me she said looking at Hunter but can we switch it up this time she said looking at everyone. Luz didn’t see anything wrong with that
“I have no objections.”
No one else seemed to have any either
Willow got a 1 Hunter got an 8 which rounded up to a 5 They landed on a payday earning another 230k He paid amity 20k of the 230k
Luz landed on spin it to win it. “How we play this” Luz explained “is that everyone places these tokens on a number on the spin it to win it wheel I get two since I landed on the space but everyone else just adds theirs"
Luz puts hers on 4 and 8

Luz spins and gets a 1
Luz smiles at Gus “You get two hundred k”
Gus fist pumps and grabs his 200k
Amity spins and gets a 7
It gets her to another STOP “Life path or night school” she says curiously looking at Luz
"Night school is for a hundred k you get to choose another job life path just means random stuff."
Amity smiles and deliberately points her car towards the life path “I don’t want to spend one hundred k on potentially making another couple ten k”
She spins again and gets a 2 which lands her on an action space. After paying Luz she reads her card aloud “Win family of the year award hug everyone to say thanks.” She trails off at the end then she freezes.
“Can I” she trails off again
“Sorry amity you’ve got to do it.”
She goes to hug Luz first. Luz hugs her tight but not too tight and then she smiles at her.
Amity hugs gus next it’s sort of awkward but not too bad.
Willow and Amity are next their hug is strange. There is hesitation from both parties but when they get their arms around each other it’s as if muscle memory still exists between the two of them.
Soon it isn’t awkward at all. When Amity pulls back she realises Hunter is next.
“You already hugged my team member. Do we need to hug?”
“Sorry, I think you do” Luz didn’t like doing this to them but maybe it would go well.
They did something similar to the awkward thing you do when you're trying and failing to get passed each other. Eventually, they manage it. Hunter looks like he’s trying to escape and Amity looks like she’s attempting and failing to squeeze him too hard.
They ‘hug’ (the word is now a loose term) for an uncomfortably long time. Everything that can go wrong does. Luz winces. Everyone passes Amity her money.
Gus spun a 9 he had finally made it to the career space
“I’m going to mix it up and take cards from the bottom of the stack”
Luz opened her mouth to stop him but it was too late
Fashion designer and scientist Scientist is a hundred k so I’ll take that one.
“I should spin again.” he lands on payday and collect a 100k bill.
Hunter spun a 4 Willow got an 8 which ended up with a 6. Willow passed Amity the money before she realized they were on the marriage square.
Awkwardness ensued. After far too long of said awkwardness. Luz grabbed the bag and told them.
"Don’t grab a piece you already have two people in your car. Spin and go for 2 out of three to see if you get red or black." Willow got a red Hunter got a black and then Willow got another red okay 50k a piece everyone handed the money over.
Hunter and Willow spun again their spins totaled up to a 6 they landed on a payday getting their 230k
Luz spun and landed on the STOP for life path and night school. She was curious about her job so she went down the life path.
“Buy a priceless painting, tell everyone what it looks like” She read “Pay bank fifty k” The painting is of a beautiful girl she has stunning gold eyes, awesome purple hair, amazing taste in books, and a beautiful smile.”
Amity blushes adorably and Luz smiles at her.
Hunter is looking suspiciously at Amity but Luz doesn’t stop him since she doesn’t want Amity to notice the look.
Next is Amity’s turn
She gets a one
"Dance disco fever hits, Pick an opponent both show off your disco moves and spin."
Amity grins at Luz and stands smoothly. “may I have this dance?”
Luz dances around stepping back and forth and around. She doesn’t exactly have a goal but she doesn’t think it looks that bad.
Amity, however, executes a perfect spin and a couple more beautiful steps. She looks like a ballerina. How had Luz gotten so lucky? She was pretty sure it was just sheer luck.
Luz gets a 6

Luz doesn’t think she deserves it with Amity’s performance but she takes the money anyway
Gus went and got a 5
He landed on a payday
Hunter got a 4 Willow got a 2.
She pays Luz after some fumbling ensues about the lack of tens in the bank Their 3 landed them on an action
Hunter read it off Sue someone for stealing your stapler"
“Amity” Hunter grinned. Then he looked at Willow "I mean unless you have an objection."
Willow looked put on the spot. "She does have the largest stack. Sorry Amity”
“It’s okay.” Amity handed the money over.
Luz spun a 3 landing on an action
“Lawsuit! Sue another player for damaging your fence. Collect 80k from the player” Luz grinned “Hunter.” He groaned and handed her 80k “So much regret.”
Amity spun an 8 she passed one payday and landed on another Hunter passed her one 110k and Hunter passed her another 110k
Gus got a nine taking him past the marriage zone he looked towards Luz and she dipped another peg into the paint the dropped it into his hand he happily put it in his car.
He spun again he got a 10 he made it passed Willow and Hunter he landed on a house.
"What are these" "
You can choose to buy a house or not. If you buy a house you may be able to sell it for more later you may sell it for less."
Gus for a moment then shook his head. "I don’t want to buy one this time. If I land on one again I’ll buy one."
He had passed a payday so Willow gave him his money.
Hunter got a seven Willow got a nine which moved them an 8. Willow passed gus his 20k.
Willow chipperly said, “We should take the life path.”
Hunter studied her “Do you want to”?
“What?”
“Do you want to”
“What do you mean”
“It looks like you don’t want to take the life path”
Luz was thinking about it. Most likely the next card was Lawyer which was 120k 20k higher than the current pay. The card would pay off.
“You look upset that you're making less than me. If you want to take the other path that’s okay.”
“We don’t even know that it will pay off.”
“Luz’s expression says that theirs a higher card in the deck which means there is a 50/50 chance you get what you want. We’re doing it.”
Willow beams at him and Hunter looks thrown off kilter

Willow switches out her teacher card for the lawyer one.
" I like the idea of being a lawyer there are so many plants endangered by big companies I would love to be a lawyer for the environment,” Willow says it all happily
Hunter gets a 4 Willow gets a 6 and they land on an action card”
“Invent a new fruit- it’s half kiwi and half banana,” Hunter says confused “Spin to see how many you sold select ten k times your spin from the bank" Willow and Hunter both get 4s Willow goes to grab 40k but there aren’t enough 10s. She gives the bank 10k and grabs a 50k
