Think Warm Thoughts
Brigitte stepped out of the shower, immediately drying off and wrapping her hair. Her workout sessions with Rein were always intense. She tried to hold back today, though. Hana had agreed to hang out with her today! Her celebrity crush was absolutely amazing, and so much more than she could have ever imagined. D.Va was absolutely amazing for sure; but the real Hana, who turned out to be goofy and silly as well as brave and selfless, was such a beautiful person. It left Brigitte feeling butterflies in her stomach every time she saw her.
'Sakta nar,' Brigitte thought to herself. She had to keep her feelings under control. Hana was her friend, and she was so happy about it. But she could never reveal her true feelings to her. Hana was a celebrity; she probably had thousands of fans that had feelings for her, and had probably had hundreds of dates. Hell, she may be in a relationship already, for all Brigitte knew. 'We're friends, nothing more," she told herself. After drying her hair and getting dressed in a comfortable tank top and jeans, she grabbed her jacket and headed back out of her door. Didn't want to keep her friend waiting.

Hana was playing a game on her handheld console while she waited for Brigitte. She mostly streamed first person shooters or action-packed games, but she loved relaxing games, like the newest Pokémon game she was currently playing, Plus it kept her nerves under control while she waited for the Swedish goddess to come meet her.
Hana looked up from her game into the mirror, taking in her appearance. Hana was wearing leggings and an oversized hoodie with her bunny logo on the front. Comfortable, yes, but very childish and plain. 'Brigitte would never be attracted to some gamer who wears baggy hoodies with the personality of a goblin,' she thought to herself. Before Hana could continue with the self deprecation, a knock sounded at the door. "Ol," Hana called, but the door didn't move. "Come in, sorry," she called and the door opened. Hana couldn't breathe for a second when Brigitte walked in the room. Her hair was put back in a ponytail, still slightly damp. She wore tight jeans and a black tank top underneath a leather jacket. She was stunning.
Hana quicky gained her composure, looking at her leggings and hoodie again before greeting Brigitte. "Hi! How was your workout?" She asked. Brigitte smiled and sat in the gaming chair at Hana's desk. "It was... oh man this chair feels great," Brigitte said, melting into the chair. Hana giggled. "Yeah, it's the best. It's my favorite chair, I've gone through two of them in my gaming career, but thankfully I'm sponsored. Sooooo good," she said. Brigitte closed her eyes and laid back for a moment, giving Hana a minute to drool over her while her eyes were closed. "So what do you wanna do today?" Brigitte asked, opening her eyes back up. Hana looked away, shrugging. "I don't know. What is there to do around her?" Brigitte pondered for a moment. "Well, outside of games and working out, we could walk over to the town near here. It's like a twenty minute walk," she offered. "There's some pretty good stores and restaurants, and the general store will probably order whatever you might want food wise. There's also the Town Forum, which has indoor mini golf, a bowling alley, a movie theater, and an arcade."
Hana's eyes lit up. "That sounds like so much fun!" She said. Brigitte smiled. "Then let's go!" Hana grabbed her bag and put it on and followed Brigitte outside of the base. She shivered as she stepped outside. "It's so cold here," she said. Brigitte chuckled. "Yeah, it's cold the majority of the year. You'll want to get some warm clothes for sure," she said. They fell into small talk about their lives growing up as they walked. "So how'd you get into gaming?" Brigitte asked. Hana smiled at the memories of her father. "My dad was actually really into gaming. I grew up playing video games with him all the time," Hana said. "That's so cool! I bet he was so proud when you started your pro career," Brigitte said. Hana's smile faltered a little, which did not escape Brigitte's notice. "He actually passed away before I got big. But he did support me when I was getting started! Him and my best friend, Dae-Hyun, were my biggest supporters," Hana said with a sad smile. Brigitte stopped walking and looked at Hana.
"I'm so sorry, Hana," she started, but Hana waved her off. "it's nothing to apologize for. You didn't know, and it was a long time ago. My dad would have been crazy about me making it so big," she said, her sad smile remaining. Before she could react, Brigitte pulled her into a massive bear hug. It crushed the air from her lungs, but also filled her with warmth. The swede smelled intoxicating, like vanilla and cinnamon. Brigitte let her go, rubbing the back of her head awkwardly. "Sorry, you just... looked like you needed a hug," she said. Hana laughed, feeling somewhat bubbly now. "I could always use hugs! Don't apologize." The two continued chatting as they approached the town, the walk passing quickly.
Brigitte led Hana around the center of town, which had the general store and a couple different boutiques. Hana bought some warmer clothes as they walked through the stores. Inside one of the boutiques, Hana noticed Brigitte let out a little squeal as she ran over to an oversized hoodie. It was grey with a sleeping cat on the front, with cat ears on the hood. Hana thought it would look absolutely adorable on her. Hana watched her grab her size and check the price before frowning and putting it back down, but didn't let on she had watched. She continued shopping, putting some warmer leggings and sweat pants in the basket she was packing. When Brigitte wasn't paying attention, Hana slipped the cat hoodie into her basket and went ahead and checked out. It wasn't that much, and it would make Brigitte so happy to have it. Besides, money wasn't an issue with how well her streaming did, not to mention the paychecks from MEKA.
"You ready to get some food?" Brigitte asked, joining Hana as she grabbed her bags off of the counter. "Sure! I'm buying," Hana said, stepping back out into the cold day. They ended up an amazing Italian restaurant. Hana reached into her shopping bags and pulled out the hoodie. "So, I actually got you something," she said with a smile. Brigitte looked confused, so Hana pulled out the cat hoodie and offered it to the swede. Brigitte blushed extremely deep, and took the hoodie. "I was hoping you didn't see me freak out over that. You really shouldn't have," Brigitte said, hugging the hoodie to her body. "You're right, I did it because I wanted you to have that. It's what friends do, right?" Hana asked. She could have swore Brigitte's smile faltered slightly. "Right, thank you so much," Brigitte said, still incredibly happy.

After eating, it was already getting dark out. They decided to head back to the base before it got too late. "So what was it like growing up in the overwatch family?" Hana asked. Brigitte laughed, smiling. "It was interesting to say the least. I grew up with Mama and all my siblings, and Papa and Reinhardt would come home as often as they could. Rein always brought me gifts from the different places they would go, and Papa would let me play with him in his workshop. I was always building and tinkering on projects, and joined the Ironclad Guild at a young age to increase my skills. I wanted to be like Papa and Reinhardt, saving the world and helping people. They were my heroes. When Reinhardt was forced to leave Overwatch, I became his squire. We traveled Europe and fought to help people everywhere, until Winston called us into service," Brigitte said. "I bet you were excited they were back," Hana said, watching Brigitte's face as she talked.
Brigitte shrugged. "Actually, I didn't want us to join them. Looking back, I'm glad we did. Reinhardt was adamant it was the right thing to do. By that point, he had started training me on how to fight and I developed my armor and flail. They just did him so badly the first time, I didn't understand why he would go back." Hana tilted her head, watching Brigitte's lips as she talked. "I'm glad you all joined back," Hana said before she caught herself. Brigitte broke into a smile. "Oh yeah? Why's that?" She asked. "Because it gave me the chance to meet you," Hana said, hoping the dark hid her blush as they walked onto the base. They walked back to their rooms in comfortable silence. Hana walked over to her room and stopped at the door. "I have to call Dae-Hyun for a little bit, but do you want to watch a movie or something after?" She asked. Brigitte nodded, smiling. "I'd love to. Oh, hey, Hana?" Brigitte asked. Hana turned and was immediately pulled into a tight, warm hug. "Thanks. For the hoodie, and hanging out with me today. I had a lot of fun," Brigitte said. Hana returned the hug as tightly as she could, breathing in her scent. "Just come in when you're ready!" Brigitte said. Hana nodded and went into her room, pulling out her phone.

Hana opened her door nearly an hour later, walking over to Brigitte's door. Dae-Hyun had loved hearing from her finally. She hesitated outside of the door, before taking a deep breath and knocking. "Come in!" An excited voice called. Hana entered Brigitte's room, which was super cozy looking. It was filled with all things about cats, and was slightly messy. Brigitte had changed into her oversized cat hoodie, which she clearly loved. Hana smiled and walked over to Brigitte's bed, where she patted next to her. The bed was pushed into the corner, with pillows piled up to lay back against. They decided on some dumb comedy movie, but ended up talking the entire time. Eventually, Hana's eyes became harder and harder to hold open, but she hated the idea of leaving. Brigitte was also growing tired. Brigitte had started snoring softly, and Hana smiled. "Guess I'll g-" Hana started, but was cut off by Brigitte pulling Hana against her in her sleep. "Shhhh, Mitzi. Let's sleep now," Brigitte muttered in her sleep, cuddling Hana against her and covering up. Hana panicked, scared of what was happening. However, she was also thrilled at cuddling with Brigitte. Not wanting to wake Brigitte, she resolved to just sleep in there with her and explain in the morning. And that night, the bad dreams never came.
