Principal Weems?
Wednesday was sitting in her office working. The weekend had gone by too quickly and she had enjoyed it.
Just a few weeks ago, she could have killed anyone who associated Larissa with her.
The memories were too painful, but now? Now she was sitting here in her office, lost in her memories of last weekend.
If she was honest, she would never have thought that Larissa was like this in private. She had so many fantasies of what she had imagined her to be like, but what she had experienced surpassed all her expectations.
Larissa was attentive, loving and passionate, had a sense of humour and sex. The sex, well, she could hardly find words for that.
The knock on the door woke Wednesday from her reverie.
She sighed deeply, shook her head with a grin and went to the door.
When she opened it, her eyes widened.
"Bianca, Eugene, what are you doing here?" she said in astonishment. "Come in."
"We were just here in town and thought we'd just pop in and see you. What are you doing right now, do you have some time?"
"Sure, have a seat," she offered the couch to sit on. "I see you two are together now. How did that come about?"
They both laughed at Wednesday's statement.
"Well honestly, we've been married for two years."
Wednesday's eyes widened. Bianca and Eugene married? Well, miracles happen all the time. Or people you think are dead suddenly appear in front of you 8 years later, completely alive.
"Oh, you must tell me everything," she said curiously and listened animatedly.
Time passed and they chatted animatedly, laughing about old times until Bianca cleared her throat.
"Enough, what's new with you? Any love affairs? Dates?"
"Honey," Eugene interrupted his wife. "Wednesday only loved someone once, but unfortunately that person is no longer there. I don't think Wednesday has found anyone else."
Wednesday lowered her eyes. She found it endearing how Eugene tried to explain and avoid the subject at the same time. She rose briefly and went to her desk, grabbed her cup and drank.
"It's all right, Eugene. I can talk about it by now."
Bianca, who had turned her questioning and slightly confused eyes on Wednesday, waited patiently to hear what Wednesday would say.
"Well. I was in love when I was at school. Unfortunately, death intervened, so I never had a chance to tell her because she died in my arms."
Wednesday looked at Bianca, who was staring at her with wide eyes and a slightly open mouth.
"Weems?" she asked in astonishment and Wednesday nodded in confirmation.
"You had a crush on Weems? Seriously?" Bianca asked and Wednesday nodded again. "You've always had a really strange manner. I wasn't expecting that now," she confessed.
"Well, I wouldn't exactly call it a crush. I loved her and that hasn't changed to this day, I didn't want anyone to know. The only person who knew was Eugene," added Wednesday.
Suddenly the door clicked open and Larissa stepped inside. Wednesday had given her the key so that she could visit her at any time.
As Eugene and Bianca were sitting more or less behind the door, Larissa couldn't see them. The same was true in this case.
Larissa entered, but paid no attention to her surroundings and walked straight towards Wednesday
who was still standing at her desk to greet her. She bent down and gave her an affectionate kiss, which was happily reciprocated.
"Hello my darling, I wanted to surprise you," she smiled.
"Admit it, you were pining for me," Wednesday added with a grin, which made Larissa laugh.
"Gotcha," she giggled, "I've missed you and your kisses terribly. How's work?"
Wednesday smiled. "Well, I haven't done any more work until now, since we're not alone in the room."
Startled and slightly ashamed, Larissa straightened up and wheeled round.
Two pairs of wide eyes stared at her. Eugene and Bianca didn't know what to say or think. Neither did Larissa. Silence reigned for a brief moment until Bianca broke it.
"Principal Weems, how...how," she stuttered.
"Miss Barclay," Larissa managed to get out, but before she knew it, Bianca walked up to her, wrapped her in her arms and began to cry.
Larissa, who was still slightly shocked, smiled at the gesture, wrapped her in her arms and comforted the young woman.
Eugene rose from his seat. He had also mourned her and missed her at times. He gently placed his hand on Larissa's back to show her that he was there. Larissa looked at him and smiled. She opened her arms and he stepped into her space.
When Larissa realised that the tears that were flowing were for her, a small wall broke down inside her.
She closed her eyes and could no longer hold back her tears, for here she was, holding the children who had once been her pupils, now young adults in her arms, clinging to her like drowning people and crying.
They stood like that for a few more minutes until Larissa opened her eyes and looked at Wednesday, who was smiling lovingly at her.
Larissa felt overwhelmed by the feeling and the situation. She had never thought that her former pupils would miss her so much.
Wednesday went into the kitchen, made Larissa a cup of Early Grey with a dollop of cream on top and placed it on the table.
She knew how Larissa enjoyed her tea and kept spoiling her with these thoughtful little treats.
After everyone had taken their own seats again, Larissa took a sip from her cup and sighed with pleasure and contentment.
Wednesday had joined Larissa, who was sitting on the couch opposite the other two, and cuddled up to the older woman, who lovingly put her arm around her.
It was a somewhat strange sight for Bianca and Eugene. Their eyes darted back and forth. It was obvious that neither of them knew how to behave.
"Excuse me," Bianca said in response, her nature too curious.
"Do I understand correctly that you two are a couple?"
Larissa started to laugh out loud. She was amused.
"Bianca, do you think that just because I was your headmistress I don't have a private life? That's an interesting thought. Just the office desk and then it's over. However, to answer your question, yes, we are together."
"Oh," Bianca whispered softly. "So, of course you have another life too. However, it's Wednesday."
"Who happens to be present in this room," Wednesday interrupted Bianca's flow of words with a raised eyebrow.
"I don't mean it like that," the young woman defended herself. "I,... you know what, let it go before we get into a fight over misunderstandings."
Wednesday looked at her and nodded in acknowledgement.
The fact was, Wednesday didn't feel like arguing at all, but when it came to Larissa and their relationship, she couldn't keep her temper together.
They continued to talk about various things until the topic of Christmas came up.
One thing was clear, Wednesday wasn't going to her parents' house. Just like the years before. Now that she finally had Larissa, she wanted to enjoy her time with her.
Bianca and Eugene told her that they wouldn't be with his family this year and it was clear with Bianca anyway, as she had no contact with her mum.
As for Larissa, she had spent most of her life alone during the holidays, so she didn't know any different and was a little overwhelmed by this event.
Much to Larissa's surprise, Wednesday asked if they would like to come over for Christmas to spend time together, to which she happily replied in the affirmative. So it was clear that they would all enjoy the evening together this year.
When it was time for Eugene and Bianca to leave, they said goodbye to each other and Wednesday caught her breath.
"What a day," she said with a smile as she saw Larissa lying on her couch looking at her.
Wednesday walked over to her, moved her leg between Larissa's, lay on top of her and kissed her.
It wasn't long before Larissa's fingers found their way under Wednesday's top and she scratched her back with her fingernails, making Wednesday moan into her mouth.
Larissa knew exactly which buttons to push on Wednesday to get her way. When the kiss ended, both women looked at each other. "Are you going to stay with me tonight?" asked Wednesday gently.
"I thought so," Larissa replied with a smile, which made the smaller woman grin.
"Good, because I'm in favour of us going into the bedroom now."
"I totally agree," Larissa replied and Wednesday stood up and took Larissa by the hand. She flicked once and the light went out.
"Handy," Larissa said and started to laugh as she was pulled into the bedroom by Wednesday.
