Chapter 1
The silence was loud. Chaewon looks down to the ground, trying to process if this was all a dream.
Realization suddenly hitting her when her girlfriend speaks up again.
“Unnie..?”
Yunjin kneels down at her, holding her suitcase with her left hand as the other one makes its way to Chaewon’s knee. She finally looks up at her again, trying to stop the tears from rolling down her cheeks, pushing the other girl’s hand away from her body.
“Don’t touch me.”
The older girl’s voice cracks as she says those three words, looking directly in Yunjin’s eyes.
Yunjin stands back up, her suitcase in hand as she walks over the door in silence.
“I’m sorry.” She says. Chaewon sighs
“No you’re not. You promised you wouldn’t do it again!” Yunjin knows that the older girl won’t let this one go.
“You can’t have a normal conversation without using it as inspiration for something. Did you really think I wouldn’t find out?”
Chaewon stands up from the couch, tears are now streaming down her face.
“I told you I was sorry!” The younger girl raises her tone. “I didn’t think it was that big of a deal ok? It’s just a song it’s not like I did anything crazy!” Yunjin’s eyes also start to tear up.
“Just a song?” Chaewon lets out a sarcastic laugh “You’re gonna win so many prizes with that one huh? Oh you’re gonna be so famous and loved by everyone because of that song Jennifer!”
Chaewon throws Yunjin’s jacket to her face, her eyes filled with tears and anger. “I hate you. Get the fuck out.” She puts her face in her hands as she sits down, waiting for the younger girl to get out the apartment already.
Sakura was sitting on her couch, watching some boring reality show that was on tv to pass the time when she suddenly hears a knock at her door. She raises an eyebrow, wondering who could be at her door this late at night. She stands up walking towards the door. In front of her was standing her friend Jennifer Huh, her eyes filled with tears, a suitcase in hand.
This isn’t the first time this happened, Yunjin would regularly go live with Sakura for a few days until her girlfriend would calm down and let her come back to their shared apartment, but this time was different.
“Yunjin! What happened? Did you and Chaewon fight again? And what’s with the suitcase?” Sakura’s eyes were filled with compassion as she slowly caresses her unit mate’s shoulder.
Yunjin’s voice cracks as she struggles to ever catch her breath.
“I think it’s really over unnie.. Chaewon got mad because of that song I wrote about her..” she says, her crying getting worse between her words.
“Oh Yunjin.. I’m sure you’ll make up.. you always do..” Sakura reassured the younger girl as she takes her into a long hug. “You can stay here as long as you’d like ok? There’s always a place for you here” the older girl says with a smile, holding Yunjin’s shoulders with her soft hands.
“Thanks unnie..” The younger girl wipes her tears away with her long sweater sleeves, trying to keep her breath under control.
Yunjin was starting to quietly store her stuff in Sakura’s guest room, wondering what was gonna happen next, will Chaewon really forgive her again?
Sakura’s words playing on loop in her brain ‘I’m sure you’ll make up, you always do.’ They do argue a lot since lesserafim tried to focus more on their solo careers than on their group. Yunjin would often write songs about their relationship even if they weren’t supposed to share it with fans, writing erotic and romantic lyrics about some mysterious girl was starting to make her fans more and more interested in her personal romantic relationship.
Chaewon isn’t the type to talk or write about their relationship. To her, Yunjin was her lover in private but only her unit mate outside. Chaewon didn’t like being the centre of attention in Yunjin’s songs, she would’ve preferred that the younger girl kept these songs to herself, just the thought of fans all around the world knowing that she was dating her unit mate made her anxious, why can’t this be easy. Why can’t they just keep this relationship private forever, why does Yunjin have to transform everything she says into a song, it drove her crazy. Yet she couldn’t stop herself from loving her.
As the door shut violently, Chaewon was starting to feel guilty again.
“I ruined everything again..” she kept repeating to herself, trying to wipe her tears away with her hands. Yunjin must’ve headed to Sakura’s apartment, like she always does.
After what seemed to be a hour of two, she stood up and sat down at her computer, looking at old photos of her and Yunjin.
She smiles as she looked at their pictures from their latest trip to America, where Yunjin showed all of her favourite places to her girlfriend, happy to share her childhood memories with the girl she loved the most on this planet.
She quickly closed her laptop, taking her face in her hands. “Fuck.”
She misses her stupid face already. She just wanted to take her soft hands into her own, to kiss her soft lips, to gently hold at her waist while smelling her perfume. Chaewon grabs her phone, staring at the screen, more specifically the contact named ‘Baby 💚’ she grabbed her hair with her fingers, wondering if she did a mistake letting her girlfriend go again.
“Might as well..” she says quietly as she starts typing.
