Chapter 1
"Cloud Retainer, have you ever fallen in love before?" Ganyu asked.
She was currently having dinner with her dearest mentor, something she liked to do at least once a month, but found she rarely had the time to, with her work piling up more and more.
They were sitting at the adepti's stone table in Jueyun Karst, talking about this and that, when Ganyu asked the question.
"Why do you ask?" Cloud Retainer responded. She didn't seemed to be phased by such a personal question, but Ganyu could tell a little part of her was very interested in what her student wanted to tell her.
"Well, one of my colleagues is... different. Everyone else acts like I'm so high and mighty, like I'm above everyone else just for existing as an adeptus. To be frank, it's very annoying to be treated like you can do no wrong. They also seem so scared of me, like I could strike them down the second they do something wrong, as if the duty of the adepti aren't to protect the people of Liyue! But one of them, she's not like any of that. She doesn't care at all I'm an adeptus. She's very vocal how she thinks the people should stop relying on us. I know she sounds disrespectful but she is such a kind person, she just doesn't treat me with any more, or less respect than how she would treat any other. I think she's wonderful."
She blushed at how long she had been rambling about her.
Cloud Retainer blinked. It seemed she wasn't prepared for such a long explanation, but she could easily regain her composure and her wisdom.
"She seems lovely, and I can see why she would stand out from the rest, but if she treats everyone with her kindness and respect, do you stand out to her? I mean this with the most respect dear; they have to reciprocate your feelings. I don't doubt your intuition, but you must always be prepared for the worst. Ask this woman to dinner. If she says no, keep it professional, if she says yes but the date doesn't go well, I doubt she would change her opinion towards you if she truly is as kind and caring as you say she is. If all goes well I expect to be meeting her at our next dinner," the pair giggled with eachother over that last line. Ganyu couldn't wait.
