An entered the interrogation room, if that's what it's even called, Es waved at her.
"You and 003 have some serious musical talent huh…"
An was admittedly caught off guard by the even though appreciated compliment.
"Oh, thanks! Have you ever sung before?"
"I don't remember doing so."
Es cleared her throat, catching An's attention.
"Well. Shall we begin, 009?"
"Yeah, sure!"
Es noticed the confidence and calm in her voice, common at the start of some of the other interrogations.
"You're surely calm about this."
Es said, An nodding with no sign of nervousness in her face.
"Of course, this is an interrogation, not a battle to the death"
Es watched as her expression shifted into a more serious one.
"You could get attacked by your other prisoners, your mental state could decline fast or anything of that type here. This could easily become a battle to the death if you let it."
An snapped her fingers two or three times.
"Like Akito or Tsukasa-senpai…"
Es nodded.
"Like 003 and 001, exactly.
But you seem to be doing better than most of the other prisoners."
An scratched the back of her neck, chuckling.
"Well, I'm really trying to be positive here, hehe."
Es sighed, walking a step closer to An.
"You're confident that what you did isn't wrong, aren't you?"
She asked, An looked down at her.
"Murder in itself is wrong. I know that. What I'm confident in is that I did what I did for good reasons."
Es gave her a questioning look.
"What reason could be so valid to kill?"
"If your family was in danger, wouldn't you try to save them?"
Es smirked.
"So your sin has to do with protection huh…"
An didn't respond.
"Well, either way you still are a murderer, 009. Do you regret this?"
An hesitated, stepping back just in case.
"...I wasn't trying to kill her."
Es fought the urge to celebrate.
"You were trying to protect your family, you said it yourself."
An nodded.
"Exactly, things got really out of hand though…"
"So that's why you're so sure you'll---"
The loud, classic bell blared and rang through their ears as An looked all over the place.
Es grined.
"That was interesting, I'm not going to lie to you.
