Suspicion
The first day after Beidou sailing is always the hardest. It happens every time. The Tianquan start to get used to fall asleep in the strong arms of her beloved and suddenly, she has another voyage and she end up alone again. Although, she doesn’t matter. Ningguang knew the moment that they started dating that this would happen, that it going to happen. Beidou´s first love is the sea. She knew that she had to get used to this thing.
But today was quite different. The Tianquan didn’t stop working until midnight. As a rule, she quit before dinner, just to have her bedtime routine in peace, however, this week she had an insane amount of work. The white-haired woman suspected that something serious was going to happen, yet she was the only one who felt it. One of the comercial routes that connected Liyue and Sumeru had lowered its benefits, it was something imperceptible for the average Liyuean, but not to the Tianquan. It was clear that she need it to investigate what happen in Sumeru, so she send her trusted spy to collect some information. And of course, Yelan brought news. Right now, there was a dispute between two of the Harbingers and the Traveller. Knowing that Lumine was involved made Ningguang feel more relieved, she knew that Lumine was capable of make Sumeru a peaceful place again, but knowing that there was two Harbingers that near to Liyue… “There were in Sumeru for a concert plan, they don’t have nothing to do here, they won’t attack us” Yelan said trying to confort her boss when she arrived a few hours ago. Ningguang keep repeating those words in her head to feel more relaxed, however, there was a tiny voice in the back of her head repeating that if that disagreement in Sumeru affected somehow the comercial relation with Liyue, she had to fix it. She wanted to help Sumeru, but at the same time, she wanted to protected Liyue´s economy, and Liyue itself. It was her duty.
After hours of working, she finally give up for the day. The Tianquan feel so exhausted that she nearly feel asleep above her tower of papers in her desk. _I can not think properly in this conditions_ Ningguang said to herself, so she stretched to wake her brain a bit and went to change her clothes.
Ningguang sit in her dresser to brush her silver long hair. It was part of her night routine that Beidou truly hated. She get bored waiting for her in bed meanwhile Ningguang done all that stuff. At beats that’s what she says. Sometimes, Ningguang catch the Captian looking at her while she carefully combed her hair. When Beidou looked at her that way, she usually had a gaze that reminded Ningguang at the one that the pirate had when she found a treasure. With a very bright sparkle in her eye and a silly smile that you can barely see. The white-haired woman let a little chuckle escaped from her lips when she remembered Beidou´s face when the pirate notice that Ningguang catch her.
Suddenly, a noise sounded in the distance. Sounded like someone break a window. The Tianquan raised her eyebrows and got up. Carefully she approached the front door, looking for the soldier who should be there. Well, he was, but he was shot down. Ningguang narrow her amber eyes and prepared herself to attack. The woman look around , waiting for someone to suddenly approach her, but nothing. Everything get quiet all of a sudden. Weirdly quiet. If someone was in the Jade Chamber, someone should have noticed… right?
The air started to filled with an aroma that the white-haired woman could not identify. However, this aroma began to made her eyelids heavy. Her body could barely stand upright. Her mind commence to blur as did her vision. “B-Beidou…” It was the only word that Ningguang manage to said out loud before losing consciousness and falling to the ground.
