Black glares at White, because White looks far too interested in talking to him.
“So?” White asks.
“What?” Black returns, just to be difficult.
White huffs. “White thought phi would open up a little. Or does P’Black not trust White?”
They’re in the school library, talking low towards the back, and Black considers claiming that as a reason not to explain anything. It seems as good a reason as any—although his favorite reason is just that he doesn’t want to, which White will accept, to a degree.
“This morning, with Por—”
“Uh, uh,” Black allows. “Fucking uncomfortable.”
Black doesn’t have to look at White to know that White sees right through this excuse. He picks at his fingernails instead of continuing though, so White says, “Did you have a good time with Sean?”
White’s change of tone is enough, and Black knows White must’ve felt the thrill of it, so Black replies, feeling slightly better, “He’s a tease.”
“I know.” White lets out a soft laugh. “But what did you guys get up to? Tell me everything, P’Black. Class was boring so I could only imagine how much more fun P’Black and Sean were having.”
So Black tells White everything.
