Chapter 30
Siyeon scrolled through her phone while sitting on the couch. Jiyoung sat next to her, watching a movie she picked for both of them to watch. Despite Siyeon’s protests of not wanting to watch the movie, she lost and was now skimming her phone whenever her girlfriend wasn’t paying attention.
The doorbell sounded, causing Siyeon to get up and escape the hell of a romantic comedy that was on the screen. But she wished she hadn’t opened the door.
Minji stood in front of her, completely done up in dark makeup, a ripped white shirt, ripped jean shorts to match, and a choker around her neck.
It nearly broke Siyeon right then.
“Uh…” Siyeon whispered.
“I’m here for Yoohyeon…” Minji whispered.
“Oh, uh… come in?” Siyeon stepped aside, calling for Yoohyeon immediately.
“Thanks…” Minji mumbled.
Siyeon couldn’t help but steal glances at her, completely shocked at this new side of Minji. She was entirely grateful that Jiyoung was occupying herself with her phone, not bothered with staring at them. At least until Yoohyeon shouted she needed another few minutes.
“Are you coming back?” Jiyoung sighed.
“Uh, yeah, sorry…” Siyeon mumbled. “Yoohyeon will be out in a minute..”
“I heard,” Minji sighed.
Minji watched the interaction, frowning when she saw Siyeon have to explain that she was just Yoohyeon’s friend.
“Don’t worry,” Minji stated. She knew exactly where this girl was going and she knew exactly how to stir the pot. “We already dated. It’s over between us anyway,” Minji sighed, looking right into Siyeon’s eyes. “You must be… very lucky to have Siyeon in your life.” She turned her head, glancing at Jiyoung now.
“You… didn’t tell me you dated before…” Jiyoung mumbled.
“Uh… yeah… Mi-Minji is my ex…” Siyeon whispered.
“Oh..” Jiyoung looked her up and down, frowning at her attire.
“Okay! Let’s go!” Yoohyeon shouted, running out in near-matching attire.
“Where are you guys going?” Siyeon frowned.
“That concert… it’s tonight… You bailed so I invited Minji. I’m not going to let the tickets go to waste… I’ve been waiting for years to see them live… And… I’m not going to let it slip by again.” Yoohyeon hated that she had to be this forward, but she also didn’t want to let the opportunity pass.
“Oh… well… have fun…” Siyeon whispered.
The two arrived at the venue, arm in arm and already giggling about the time they were going to have. Minji smiled when they walked in, finding the general area they were going to be standing in, completely happy that she was out for the first time in a while.
“So how have things been?” Yoohyeon asked.
“Busy. I started my lab work and internship and I’ve just been finding time to manage everything,” Minji shrugged. “What about you? How are things with you and Dong?” She asked.
“Well… Things have been good… Dong and I are… Great actually,” Yoohyeon smiled. “I didn’t want to bring it up in case it was still a sore subject…” She muttered.
“It’s not… Siyeon would be a sore subject, but seeing as she’s moved on…” She sighed before leaning against the railing in front of her.
“I’m sorry things ended the way they did between you guys…” Yoohyeon frowned. “Dong and I talked about it for a while… And she’s actually upset that Siyeon thought she had something…” She sighed.
Minji hummed, nodding her head before looking down at the floor in front of her. She didn’t think the conversation would lead to that but… it’s what happened.
“I’m really happy you came… Siyeon’s girlfriend is an asshole.” Yoohyeon leaned against the rail, looking down at the floor with Minji.
“Yeah, I figured that,” Minji sighed. “She seems the type.” She smirked.
“Siyeon definitely attracts assholes,” Yoohyeon chuckled, earning a shove from Minji. “What! It’s true!” She defended.
“And this asshole is your only other friend who could come to this concert.” Minji pointed at the younger woman, watching her slowly nod her head. “What is this band anyway?” She asked.
“You blindly came to a heavy metal concert with me?!” Yoohyeon gasped.
“I like the genre… So why not?” Minji shrugged.
“Wow… you’re my new ride or die,” Yoohyeon smiled before hugging her.
The concert was fun, loud and the two wondered if they had lost their hearing briefly. But after ten minutes of being outside, they slowly gained it back, laughing at each other when they realized they had been yelling the whole time.
“You’ll have to send me their entire set list from tonight. I loved it,” Minji smiled.
“I will,” Yoohyeon laughed while clinging to Minji’s arm.
The two walked for a while longer, finding their way to the train station and waited for their train to arrive.
“Unnie… I know you said it’s a sore subject… But do you think you’ll get back with Siyeon if she ever broke up with the girl she’s with now?” Yoohyeon frowned.
“No.” Minji let out a sigh, shaking her head. “She… doesn’t trust me. Even after I got tested. And she told me that she wasn’t interested in sex… after I went through all of that… She couldn’t even tell me the truth…” She sighed. “We can’t trust each other and it wouldn’t work.”
“But you both know the truth now… Why can’t you guys make it work?” Yoohyeon pouted.
“It’s complicated,” Minji mumbled. “Things are hard to process and explain… but if she’s happy then… I’ll find a way to be happy,” She muttered.
Minji made sure to walk Yoohyeon back home, not wanting her to be unsafe. But the second they got closer to the apartment, they heard shouting.
Yoohyeon immediately pushed the door open, frowning when she saw Siyeon seated on the couch with her girlfriend standing across the room.
“What the hell is going on?” Yoohyeon frowned.
“Doesn’t concern you.” Jiyoung glared.
“It really doesn’t…” Siyeon sighed. “And it’s not a big deal,” She glared at Jiyoung.
“Not a big deal?! Siyeon! Are you dense?! How do you know you hate it so much? How are you so disgusted by it? Don’t you like looking at women??” Jiyoung snapped.
“Are you mad at her not wanting to have sex?” Minji frowned, watching Jiyoung twist her head to look at the girl. “You can’t be mad at that,” She scoffed.
“And how would you know? You two probably did it all the time!”
“Never,” Siyeon and Minji answered in unison.
Yoohyeon looked between the two of them, watching as Jiyoung’s face dropped.
“If Siyeon’s preference is to not do anything sexual then that’s her thing. You can’t force her to do something that she’s not comfortable with.” Minji stepped between them, not sure what would happen if they just ignored everything. She just knew she didn’t like fighting.
“And why should I listen to you? You clearly dumped her for the same reasons.”
“She broke up with me.” Minji corrected her. “And if you’re going to keep making her feel like shit for something so mundane, then I think you should leave.”
