Chapter 29
“I don’t like her,” Yoohyeon grumbled.
“You can’t just say that… you didn’t like Minji and you ended up liking her,” Dong whispered.
“Siyeon isn’t the same with her. She’s constantly complaining and Siyeon doesn’t even like her!” Yoohyeon frowned.
Dong let out a sigh, shaking her head before falling back into the bed.
“I don’t trust her… I think she’s using Siyeon for a good grade…”
Dong rolled onto her side, placing both hands on Yoohyeon’s cheeks.
“I think now you’re just finding reasons to not like her,” Dong whispered. She heard a loud groan escape the younger woman’s mouth, causing her to chuckle. “I’m sure she’s pleasant,” She shrugged.
Yoohyeon shook her head, pulling Dong close to her in the bed. She let the older woman hold her, trying to ease her worries.
But it was hard. Siyeon didn’t even like this girl. She only started tutoring her and the girl cornered her and asked her if she wanted to go out. Just like last time. And Siyeon didn’t even have the heart to say no. She just agreed.
And now she was being told what to do and how to do everything in order to just make this girl happy.
“I know you’re worried about your best friend… But you can’t just… You can’t make her decisions for her…” Dong sighed.
“I know… I just… don’t want her to make the same mistakes…” Yoohyeon sighed.
“I know…” Dong frowned. “She’s smart. She won’t. At least I hope she won’t.”
Yoohyeon did her best at salvaging her friendship, actually having a conversation with Siyeon was harder than she thought since she was terrible with words and Siyeon didn’t like to confront feelings right away. But once it was done, it was tense for a few days before everything settled and it was somewhat back to normal.
Which was when Jiyoung stepped in.
She was pretty, but she wasn’t nice. At least not to Yoohyeon.
Siyeon didn’t mind Jiyoung. In fact, she was pretty okay… it was just the entirety of everything else. How commanding she was with everything, how she didn’t like Siyeon spending so much time with Yoohyeon, everything seemed to set her off to a point.
“We’re going right?!” Yoohyeon shook Siyeon’s shoulders as she walked, startling the new couple with her sudden presence.
“Going where?” Siyeon frowned.
“I texted you I got the tickets like two weeks ago! Our favorite band!!” Yoohyeon squealed.
“Really?!” Siyeon gasped. “This changes everything! We have to go!” She screamed.
The two had dove into deep conversation, making plans from when to wake up right down to the exact everything on what to wear that night. At least until someone spoke up.
“When is it?” Jiyoung frowned.
“Uh… couple weeks,” Yoohyeon shrugged.
“So… where is it?” Jiyoung asked.
“Couple cities over. We can take the train,” Yoohyeon pointed at Siyeon, watching her nod her head. “It’ll probably start late… end late… we’ll need to plan food…”
“So you’re just going to leave me?” Jiyoung frowned at Siyeon.
“Uh… you can come with?” Siyeon asked, earning a hidden slap to the back from Yoohyeon. “I mean… it’s heavy metal… so… I’m not sure if you’d like it…”
“Oh… I just thought we could spend time together… But I guess it’s fine. It’s whatever… go have fun on your little adventure with screaming and noise.”
The two watched with different expressions. Yoohyeon watched with absolute annoyance while Siyeon felt bad for even thinking about it.
“I mean… I-I don’t have to go…” Siyeon quickly stated.
“Siyeon seriously?! They’re an American group! We can’t see them every year!” Yoohyeon complained. “First ever concert here and you’re just going to throw it away?!” She shouted.
Siyeon gave her a shrug before following Jiyoung down the path, completely abandoning Yoohyeon for this girl who kept Siyeon on a tight leash.
“At least Minji would’ve joined us,” Yoohyeon grumbled before walking through the garden.
She found Minji’s apartment with ease, knocking politely and waiting for a little bit. She heard the sounds of a dog sniffing the door before footsteps. Before long, the door clicked open, revealing a tired Minji with her hair done in a bun.
“Hey, what are you doing here?” Minji frowned.
“An American heavy metal band is coming for a concert. Siyeon bailed because her girlfriend sucks ass. Do you want her ticket?” Yoohyeon asked immediately.
“When?” Minji asked.
“Couple weeks from now. Saturday.”
“Text me the date and I’ll go. I have… nothing going on,” She shrugged.
“Really?!” Yoohyeon gasped, watching her nod her head.
“Yeah! It’ll be fun!” Minji smiled.
Dong listened to Yoohyeon explain her plans, happy that she was going with someone now. But she didn’t like that Yoohyeon had to find someone else to go with. And she certainly didn’t like her going with Minji.
“She’s not that bad anymore.” Yoohyeon pointed.
“I’m aware…. Just be careful.” Dong held her girlfriend’s hand. She trusted Yoohyeon. She just didn’t trust Minji. “Tell me about your day. I want to hear what your big brain learned.” She smiled.
“Well, today we learned about the transference and when it could take place. Right now we have machines that can learn and react but it still lacks the human aspect of life you know?” Yoohyeon started.
Dong let out a sigh as she listened to her girlfriend, happy that she was excited about what she was learning. She loved hearing Yoohyeon talk about a million different things. She didn’t care if she didn’t understand. She just loved Yoohyeon that much.
“I love you,” Dong whispered, stopping Yoohyeon in the middle of her story.
“Really?” Yoohyeon blushed. “We… We’ve only been together a few months…” she mumbled.
“The longer I sit here listening to you ramble on and on about your work… just makes me realize how much I love you,” She smiled.
Yoohyeon turned away from Dong, trying her hardest not to blush too much. She bit her lip, trying not to squeal with how happy she was.
“I love you too,” Yoohyeon finally spoke, turning to face Dong. “I like hearing you talk for hours…” She smiled. “I love hearing you speak other languages too… makes me feel dumb,” She giggled.
“Well, I’ll be more than happy to never speak Korean ever again if it means you love it,” Dong winked.
“No! I want to understand you!!” Yoohyeon whined.
“Too bad!” Dong laughed.
