Chapter 21

The days seemed to flow differently. Yoohyeon didn’t entirely feel like a third wheel and was actually enjoying herself. They were entirely exhausted, laying out on towels to dry off and warm up in the sun, just enjoying each other’s company.

“How do I block someone on this damn app again?” Yoohyeon muttered while looking at her phone. Minji held her hand out, waiting to feel the phone in her hand.

When she got the phone, she just saw a friend list and frowned.

“Who are you trying to block?” Minji asked while scrolling through the friend list. She had an idea but she didn’t want to assume.

“You know…” Yoohyeon mumbled, burying her face in her arms.

“Got it.”

Minji scrolled through, trying to find the username. Once she found it, she blocked the user from Yoohyeon’s account and handed the phone back.

“I’ll be back. I want to find shells,” Siyeon quickly stated before getting up and walking toward the shoreline.

“You’re not joining her?” Yoohyeon asked.

“I like rocks. Not shells,” Minji chuckled. “If anything I want to go climb on that.” She pointed to a large rock formation, and Yoohyeon nodded her head. “I think there are cool rocks there.” She whispered.

Yoohyeon nodded her head, letting out a sigh before watching the waves crash against the sand. She watched Siyeon walk around, picking up various things before putting them back in the sand.

“Why did you want to block Dong all of a sudden?” Minji asked.

“Do we have to talk about it?” Yoohyeon mumbled.

“No, but I’m curious…” The older woman rolled onto her stomach, looking at Yoohyeon. “It’s been months and you’re just now blocking her.” She shrugged.

Yoohyeon let out a groan, knowing exactly why. She had forgotten and was doing a little bit of stalking just to see what she was up to. She might have hated her, but she was curious.

“She liked one of my posts and I just remembered…” She sighed.

“Mmm,” Minji hummed before grabbing her phone. “Do you remember when I apologized to you?” She asked.

“Which time?”

“The very first time… After… That,” She sighed.

“Kind of… I was so angry I don’t think I processed most of it,” the younger frowned.

“I said you didn’t have to forgive me, but forgive Dong because it wasn’t her fault,” Minji whispered. “I would text her and have her come over. I baited her and dragged her in.”

“But she still could’ve said no and not gone,” Yoohyeon whispered. “That’s why.”

“And she apologized?” Minji asked.

“Yeah, but I can’t… I can’t just go back… She knew too much and she still did it anyway.” Yoohyeon shook her head, deciding to push herself to sit up instead of laying down.

“You can’t go back to something that was never started.” Minji pushed herself up, looking Yoohyeon in the eyes now. “You both were casual if I remember correctly. I was the one who was supposed to be in a committed relationship.” She glanced over at Siyeon who was much further away now.

Yoohyeon hated that Minji was right.

“I still don’t understand why Siyeon decided to go back to you.”

“Me either.”

Yoohyeon glanced back at Minji, seeing her watch Siyeon. She was confused as to why Minji had agreed with her like that. The older woman picked up on her confusion and let out a small sigh.

“I don’t deserve her,” Minji whispered. “She’s the best person in the world and for some strange reason… She likes me,” She smiled.

“You do like her right…?” Yoohyeon frowned.

“I do… She’s odd, but I like her now.” Minji couldn’t help but laugh. “She opened up more… I know more about her… She shows me her games and tells me about her projects…” she smiled as she spoke, her entire gaze fixed on the hunched woman who seemed to be fighting with a crab. “I like her… even if she’s weird… She’s my boring weirdo.”

Yoohyeon looked back at Minji, seeing that her line of sight never changed. Still staring at the woman that abandoned them for shells. She couldn’t be mad at that face. The most loving face she had ever seen on someone. Heck, she hadn’t even seen that face on her parents in a while.

“Would… would I even have a chance with Dong?” Yoohyeon whispered.

“A girl like you?” Minji asked.

“Me in general… but yeah… someone like me…” Yoohyeon mumbled.

“Honestly… I think you’re out of her league,” Minji shrugged, causing Yoohyeon to drop right back into her out of confusion. “You’re tall, gorgeous and you know how to pull off a lot of different clothes without even trying. You’re incredibly smart, you’re very in tune with a lot of people and you’re incredibly protective when it comes to the people you care deeply about.” Minji explained. “You could do better than her.” She winked.

“So… I do have a chance…?” Yoohyeon whispered.

“I would say yes… but you blocked her,” Minji frowned before glancing back at her girlfriend. It was a few seconds before she felt a phone hitting her towel, causing her to look down at it.

“Can you unblock her for me?”

Minji chuckled, going through the app’s settings and unblocking the one account. She handed the phone back to her before being nearly tackled by Siyeon.

“Look what I found!” She held a nice-sized rock in her hand, catching Minji’s immediate attention. “What is it?” She asked.

“Uh…” Minji held the stone in her hands, turning it before scratching it with her nail. “I want to say Rhyolite, but I could be wrong… go put it back where you found it,” She frowned.

“Why?” Siyeon asked.

“Because of you take rocks from the beach it’ll cause erosion and that’s not good,” Minji explained.

“Got it.” Siyeon made her way back out, trying to find the exact spot she found the rock in the first place.

“Do I text her first?” Yoohyeon asked quietly.

“Maybe think on it… Let your mind settle.”
