Chapter 13
Yoohyeon sent Siyeon to her room and quickly changed. She got the text that Dong would be there shortly and she honestly was fuming.
“Sorry I’m a little late,” Dong stated when she walked through the door.
“Sit down and shut up,” Yoohyeon glared.
Dong was a little taken aback, frowning when she saw Yoohyeon pretty much looking at her like she wished she was dead. She did what she was told, a little afraid of what was going to happen next.
“I don’t even know where to begin right now. But I will say that what you did was entirely fucked up. And I don’t even think fucked up covers that!! How could you be so stupid?! I know, I should’ve just told Siyeon to break up with Minji when people came up to me warning about her. And then when Minji warned me about you? I really wished I could’ve listened to her. How could you go and screw with her? Siyeon was head over heels for her and you just… you’re so fucking disgusting to me right now,” Yoohyeon shot out. “And I told you. I told you I was burned that exact way. And you just go off and… and do that…” She could feel the tears forming now. She was entirely too angry.
“Minji didn’t tell me she was dating anyone!” Dong immediately shouted. “I… I didn’t know Siyeon was dating her. I would have never done anything if I knew she was dating someone!” She frowned.
“Yeah right.” Yoohyeon scoffed.
“I’m being serious Yooh. She never told me… just hear me out.” she stood up, trying to reason with Yoohyeon, only for her to step away from her.
“Get out. Just fucking get out,” Yoohyeon spat. “I never want to see you ever again.”
“You don’t mean that…” Dong whispered.
“Get. Out.” Yoohyeon spoke through gritted teeth.
Dong nodded her head, terrified of the girl in front of her now. She left without another word, deciding that she had really ruined everything. All because her ex was psychotic enough to do something like that.
Once the door was shut Yoohyeon made sure to lock it and rushed to check on Siyeon. The older woman was laying in her bed, curled up and under all of her blankets, hiding from the world. She climbed into the bed with her, just holding her until she calmed down.
“She didn’t deserve you,” Yoohyeon whispered.
Minji sat on her couch, listening to Bora continue to ramble about how Dami asked her out properly the week prior and they had the cutest little picnic date. She felt happy for her best friend, knowing she had this crush for a while.
“What’s this?” Bora stopped in her tracks, seeing the white bag on the table near the door.
“Hm?” Minji looked up, seeing Bora holding the bag in her hands. “I don’t know…” She frowned while walking over. She took the bag from the younger woman, peeking inside, and immediately felt awful.
“Well?” Bora whispered.
“You said not to talk about it.” Minji pushed past her, walked straight into her room, and fully opened the bag. She pulled out the geode, admiring the purple gems that were crystallized inside.
She hated everything at that moment.
“I thought you were going to break things off…” Bora whispered.
“I am,” Minji put the rock back into the bag, rushing through her room and putting all of the little gifts back into the bag. “I’ll be right back. Just… stay or go. I don’t care…” She mumbled.
Minji rushed to the other apartment building, hoping that she could just leave the bag and run. But to her surprise, she turned the corner and saw Siyeon seated on the stairs, wrapped in a blanket.
“Fuck…” She whispered.
She climbed up the stairs, seeing that Siyeon didn’t even notice her as she approached. She frowned and waved her hand in front of her face, watching her flinch and finally look at her.
“Um… I… I’m sorry…” She handed over the bag, watching her tear-filled eyes slowly look at the bag. “I think you deserve to have all of this back… maybe return most of it and get your money back…”
Siyeon shook her head, turning away from the bag.
“Why not?” Minji frowned. “I don’t deserve it…”
“I got them for you,” Siyeon sniffed. “What am I going to do with a bunch of rocks?” She asked.
Minji didn’t understand. She didn’t deserve the gifts and now she couldn’t even give them back.
“Keep them…” Siyeon’s voice was incredibly quiet. And it didn’t make any sense to Minji.
“Are you sure?” She frowned, watching her nod her head. “Even the figures?” She pulled out one that looked like a rhino, and she saw Siyeon nod her head.
“I got them for you. It made me think of you. So just keep them…” She mumbled.
“Okay…” Minji sighed. “Why are you outside?” She frowned.
“I locked myself out… Yoohyeon will be home soon… I doubt she’s going to want to see you… So you should go before she yells at you as she yelled at Dong,” Siyeon warned.
Minji nodded her head, deciding to leave the younger woman. She didn’t know why she felt upset. She got to keep the rocks but she didn’t understand why.
“Minji?” The older woman stopped in her tracks, turning to see Siyeon watching her. “Did you even like me?” She whispered. Minji could’ve cried at the way her voice cracked.
She wanted to lie desperately. Wanted to say yes just to not make the wound deeper. But she couldn’t keep lying. Not to Siyeon like this.
“Honestly… no… I didn’t. Not like that at least… I’m sorry…” she answered.
“Got it…” Siyeon sniffed.
Minji really didn’t know why she felt guilty. But she knew she couldn’t just leave her there.
“You’re going to freeze staying out here. Even with a blanket,” She whispered. “Do you know when she’s coming back?” She asked. She watched her shrug her shoulders and she felt horrible. “Come… You can stay with me until she gets back. Just leave a note.” Went back up the stairs, ripped part of the bag, and fished in her own bag for a pen. Once the note was left at the door, she helped Siyeon up and walked with her to her place.
“I hope you don’t mind I used your… who’s that?” Bora frowned when the two walked in.
“Room. Now,” Minji pointed at her best friend. “You can sit on the couch.” Her tone of voice shifted when talking to Siyeon, and Bora was entirely confused.
“So…?” Bora frowned when they both walked into her room.
“That’s Siyeon… I ended things with her but she wanted me to keep the gifts and she locked herself out of her apartment. Her roommate was gone and doesn’t know when she’ll be back. So what was I going to do? Leave her in the cold?” Minji quickly and quietly explained.
“This poor girl…” Bora whispered while peeking around her best friend. “But you know this shows you do have a heart,” She chuckled.
“I’ve always had one. Just… not out for the public,” She muttered.
