Chapter 11

During the semester break, lots of changes were made.

Minji dyed her hair blonde, Bora made things official with Dami, Gahyeon got an internship with a prestigious law firm, Siyeon dyed her hair black, Dong dyed her hair a deep red and Yoohyeon acquired more scandalous clothes with the help of Minji via video chat.

“Do you really think this will work?” Yoohyeon frowned while looking at herself in the mirror.

“Of course. Show some skin, make her regret dropping you,” She smiled.

The two walked out, surprising Siyeon just a little bit. Minji gave her a warm smile before wrapping her arms around her neck.

“I miss your blue hair,” Minji pouted.

“And I miss your black hair…” Siyeon whispered. “But the blonde suits you. Makes you look good,” She smiled.

“Mm... I know,” Minji chuckled.

Yoohyeon felt nervous. She wasn’t sure if she shared any classes with Dong, but she couldn’t think about that. If this was going to get Dong closer and actually give her actions rather than words, she was willing to try anything.

She walked through the quad, checking her schedule and then checking the building numbers to make sure she was headed to the right place. Only for her to nearly collide with another person.

“Oh! I’m so sorry!” She quickly blurted out, only to see it was Dong. “Wow! Red hair?” She chuckled.

“Yeah, I wanted something better,” Dong smiled before looking her up and down. “Wow… Aren’t you a little cold?” She asked.

“Just a bit, but I’ll manage,” Yoohyeon chuckled. “Anyway! I’ll see you later!” She quickly shuffled passed her, not wanting to talk too much to her.

Dong watched as she walked away, feeling all sorts of things. She let out a sigh, pulling out her phone and locating the one person she knew would be available this early.

She pinned Minji against the wall, both of them ignoring everything else and their first classes.

“I thought… you were done with me?” Minji groaned when she felt her ex’s lips on her neck.

“Just shut up,” Dong muttered. “I don’t want to hear anything except you screaming my name. Understood?” She asked before biting down on her neck.

“Yes…” Minji groaned.

It was a vicious cycle. Dong would see Yoohyeon wearing all of these new clothes, each revealing more and more of herself and she even caught glimpses of tattoos that made her heart skip a beat. Then she would find herself pinning Minji against walls, against the bed, anywhere they could that was private.

All because she didn’t want to jump Yoohyeon. She didn’t want to cross that boundary if the latter wasn’t ready. She wasn’t going to push it.

But she was trying. She was meeting her for little dates here and there, all of which consisted of being indoors since Yoohyeon would complain that she was cold. Dong would tease her about being cold but would sacrifice her jacket so the girl could warm up during their walks.

Minji however was growing impatient. She was starting to lose her patience with Siyeon and it was aggravating. She didn’t even realize they were nearing any special anniversary until the younger woman showed up out of nowhere with a small bag.

“What is this?” Minji frowned.

“We’ve been together for six months… Don’t you remember?” Siyeon asked her.

“Oh my god… I forgot…” Minji groaned, face-palming herself. She didn’t care but she had to act as if she forgot. “How about I make it up to you?” She asked.

“It’s okay….I know you’re busy,” Siyeon quickly muttered. “It’s… it’s probably stupid to celebrate anyway…” She mumbled.

“No, no it’s cute!” Minji quickly stated. “Look… how about I come over and make you dinner tonight?” She asked. “Since I know you and Yoohyeon live on takeout,” she chuckled.

“That would be nice…” The younger woman smiled.

“Good. Then it’s settled,” Minji gave her a warm smile before kissing her cheek. She went to walk away when Siyeon grabbed her wrist pulling her back.

“Don’t forget this,” She handed over the small bag, now with a giant smile on her face. “Open it!” She urged.

“Um… Okay…” Minji mumbled, opening the small bag. She pulled out a little box and frowned. Another stupid figure? She opened the box, pulling out a necklace with a pink, white, and grey pendant in it. “This…” she whispered.

“I remembered you said your second favorite rock was rhodochrosite. It was hard to find, but I got it in a necklace so you could wear it. And since your favorite color is pink, it worked out,” Siyeon smiled.

“Why… why would you get this?” Minji frowned.

“Because I like you…? And you’ve been the best girlfriend ever… I wanted to make it special… is it not your favorite? I-I thought it was because it was pink, and there weren’t a lot of pink rocks—”

Minji cut her off by pulling her in for a kiss. She didn’t want her to keep talking, and honestly, it was a thoughtful gift.

“Thank you… I really love it…” Minji whispered when she pulled away.

Siyeon didn’t say a word, but she knew her cheeks were extremely red. She didn’t know that she would get her first kiss today at all. If anything she expected just a hug.

But now it was solidified. Now more than ever.

Minji really needed to break up with her before it was too late. She couldn’t keep accepting all of these expensive gifts and faking some kind of connection. Sure she liked that Siyeon asked her questions about her classes and was genuinely interested, but she didn’t like Siyeon.

She just couldn’t wrap her head around how boring she was. It honestly made sense as to why she was so antisocial. No one cared about her hobbies. She was surprised Gahyeon was her friend. Heck, she was surprised Yoohyeon was even her friend.

Yoohyeon was entirely more social and had other interests besides stupid robots and machinery.

But it would all be over soon. And she would never have to see Siyeon again.
