Chapter 2
Elise sat idly by her window, her cheeks stung and her eyes were red from sobbing. She wasn’t eating, sleeping or anything productive. The only time she got up was to sulk by the statue in the garden.
It wasn’t really a garden, just a big ego stroke for Belos. No flowers grew, just thorns and weeds.
Hunter requested that the statue goes into the garden, it was the least he could do.
Whenever the boy attempted to talk to her, Elise would scream and throw stuff.
Calling him a murderer, throwing him a dagger and tell him to finish the job.
Somedays she just sat beside the statue, silently crying.
Belos instead of feeling pity, he just felt annoyed. That girl wasn’t doing anything productive! Just spending her life mourning, pitiful.
He wanted to slap some sense into her! She had a destiny, Belos had her for that reason.
“Your grace?” Kikimora said, Elise turned to the demon.
Elise held nothing but pure rage against her.
She was that one stain you couldn’t get rid off.
“The emperor requested your presence in his lab.” Elise got up, Kikimora didn’t notice Elise pocketing a dagger. The blade was twisted and jagged, it was like that as it was to make the stabbing more painful.
Elise descended down into lab, the god awful smell of bile and smoke greeted her. “Elise.” Her father’s voice bellowed, Elise wanted to rip her ears out. She despised his voice, she despised EVERYTHING about him.
Belos couldn’t believe how ghastly she looked. Eye bags resided underneath her eyes, her skin was clammy and pale and her hair was a mess.
“When are you going to be done with your tantrum?” He asked, folding his arms. “I loved her.” Elise muttered, Belos wanted to tear his hair out. “Elise, she didn’t love you.
She was manipulating you. She was using you as a pawn to get back at me.” He said, Elise gripped the knife tighter.
“You were just a tool to her. She didn’t love you but I do.” He said, opening up his arms.
Elise walked over accepting the hug.
“Soon we can ALL forget this.” He said, Elise raised the dagger.
“Right, forget.”
Only one emerged from the lab that night.
