Chapter 3
The coven heads were annoyed and quite annoyed at the fact that the emperor’s brat had declared such an early meeting.
Yet an unsettling feeling settled in their stomach’s as Elise RARELY took charge.
After the petrification of that wannabe pirate, Elise became more cold and wrathful. Those who came close were met with hateful glares or insults.
Hunter meanwhile was met with stuff being thrown at him or full on screaming matches. This wasn’t the sweet girl who was eager to explore and help. No, it was a hateful and hostile child.
Terra attempted to offer tea but she was met the insult: “Accessory to my mother’s torment.” It was childish but held truth. Whenever Darius or anyone attempted to curb this behavior, they were met with harsh sneers and crude language.
They stood in the meeting room, the only sounds filling the void was Fire cracking and the occasional yawn.
“It’s probably going to be a rant on how her precious girlfriend didn’t deserve to die.” Adrian muttered, sipping his coffee.
Elise finally walked in, wearing her father’s cloak, adjusted to her size. The mask had tear marks, the antlers looked more pointy and angry.
“If we’re just here to give opinions about your look, it sucks.” Adrian snarked, Elise took off her mask. The most noticeable thing about her face was the scars.
It was like she was attacked by an animal. Everyone cringed, Elise either didn’t notice or care.
“I have some devastating news.” She said in almost mock sorrow.
“Emperor Belos has passed.”
The room was quiet, the only sound was Adrian’s coffee cup dropping. “What?” Darius said, Hunter’s heart dropped. “You heard me, Belos has passed.” She said firmly, voice cold.
“W-what about the day of Unity?!” Terra said, Elise sneered.
Greedy pigs, all of em.
Willing to turn a blind eye to two innocent children and a woman suffering, all for a place that didn’t exist.
Well, unless you believed in the afterlife that is.
Elise wanted to maliciously laugh and mock their stupidity. “Is that all you care about? Not the fact that a man just died?” Elise asked, tilting her head. Terra stammered, almost comically.
“From this day forward, I’m in charge.” Darius raised his hand. “Hold on, you’re just a child. Don’t you think you’re jumping the gun?”
Elise smirked, really wanting to lay into these idiots.
“So it wasn’t a problem when my cousin was made into a child soldier?” Darius shut up, as did everyone.
“Darius is right, you’re too inexperienced. You’ll lead the empire into ruin!” Kikimora snapped.
Next thing Kikimora knew, she was breathing for air after being slammed HARD into a wall. “Does anybody ELSE wanna challenge me?” Elise said, everyone gazing at her in fear.
“Good.” Elise turned to a nearby coven scout. “Fetch me Amy Millers statue.” She instructed, the scout fleeing.
“I want the portal door torn down, make sure it’s in pristine condition.” She instructed, walking away.
Amy’s cut open body laid on the table as Elise gently harvested the bones, the Collector said it might be possible to maybe transfer the brain.m
“We’ll lead the dream life we always wanted.” Elise whispered, realizing that Peepers was dead.
“It’s okay, we’ll repopulate the trees.” She assured herself, turning towards a jar.
It held a green substance, swishing around wrathfully. “Oh you’re acting like a child. Be grateful I didn’t leave you to the mercy of your brother.” Elise mocked, pulling out a pendant.
She poured the substance in it, wearing it proudly. “Now you know what it’s like to be paraded around on a chain.” Elise turned to Amy’s corpse.
“Now, let’s continue.”
