don't save me
Ava wanted to ignore Lilith but it was impossible. Since she’s a newcomer and has most of her scenes with Ava, they are stuck with each other during rehearsals the next day.
“I see Beatrice picked you up last night,” Lilith mentions as she sits next to her when they had their first break. Ava chose to sit on a corner by herself but Lilith decided to be annoying.
“Yes,” she answers absentmindedly. She flips through the pages of the script as she sips some water.
“This may sound creepy but I really want to ask,” Lilith elbows her lightly. Ava summons all her self-restraint not to punch her in the face.
“What?”
“Is her lips as soft as how all the guy singers says or well, sings about?” Lilith asks.
“You’re right, that’s a creepy thing to ask to someone’s girlfriend,” Ava answers still not looking at her.
“You’re no fun,” Lilith chuckles. “Maybe you can show me how she kisses you.”
“We don’t have any kissing scenes, I’m afraid,” Ava is really trying so hard at this point to keep her cool.
“Don’t be so sure,” Lilith smirks when Ava glances at her for a split-second. “What if the director suddenly wants us to?”
“I’m a professional if that’s what you want to know,” Ava tells her. “But I won’t you show anything from my private life. Now, if you’ll excuse me,” she stands up and walks away.
She takes her phone and texts Shannon that she doesn’t want any kissing scene with Lilith or any other scene where they get really close to each other. Shannon says she got her back. She also mentions Autumn de Wilde can’t find any chemistry with the two of them so she’ll probably end up as this annoying wannabe love interest.
The accent coach arrives as they resume. She praises Ava, Mary and the other supporting characters that underwent workshop. She then taught Lilith as they rehearse. After about an hour, she can see how the coach starts to get a little frustrated. Ava is surprised she lasted that long because Lilith is really butchering her French accent. After half an hour of them having a one-on-one, they went back to rehearsing scenes.
“You should be a little stiffer,” Lilith says to Ava as Autumn and Mary along with others that plays soldiers discuss a scene.
“What?” Ava stops herself from sighing.
“She’s a heroine, right?” Lilith asks. “Joan of Arc is strong.”
“That doesn’t mean I need to act like a man,” Ava tells her. “Autumn and I already discussed how Joan should move.”
“I’m just saying,” Lilith shrugs. “I do have experience in period films.”
“Okay, thanks,” Ava subtly rolls her eyes.
Next, they did scenes with stunts. The stunt choreographer is very happy with Ava and Mary’s performance. Lilith tries to do some but she’s really bad at it. Her double came in and did it instead.
“You’re really good,” Mary smirks at Ava as they drink water. “It’s as if you weren’t injured a few weeks ago.”
“What can I say, I’m really tough,” Ava chuckles. “I can’t wait for the sword fighting though. It’s going to be epic.”
“Hell, yeah!” Mary high-fives her.
“Are you done for today?” Ava asks.
“Yeah, I’ll see you tomorrow,” Mary hugs her before leaving. “Good luck,” she whispers to her obviously pertaining to her rehearsing more scenes with Lilith.
“Ugh,” Ava rolls her eyes but chuckles. “Take care.”
“You too.”
“I must say you and Mary were really impressive,” Lilith sits next to her again. She really is testing her patience.
“Thanks,” Ava answers.
“If I had time to train, I’ll probably hold my own,” she chuckles.
“Sure,” Ava nods, just staring ahead.
“You should work on the way you roll on the ground though,” she comments. “The thing where you are crouched down and you tumble forward.”
“It’s because I will be holding a shield and a sword,” Ava narrows her eyes at her. “They just weren’t here because the props team are still working on them.”
“Oh,” Lilith purses her lips. “What am I even saying, right? Obviously, you know more. Silly me.”
Ava is on the verge on telling unkind things when her phone rings.
“My love,” she made sure Lilith heard before she walks away.
“How’s rehearsals?”
“I think Lilith decided it’s her mission to annoy me until I die,” Ava sighs.
“That bad?” Beatrice sighs as well.
“My patience is at its limit.”
“Remember to breathe and think that she’s not worth it,” Beatrice tells her.
“I’ll remember the sound of your voice as you said that,” Ava smiles.
“I’m glad I made you smile.”
“How did you know?”
“I just do,” Beatrice chuckles.
“How about you, how’s rehearsals?”
“Perfect,” Beatrice tells her. “We’re all set next week.”
“Lucky you,” Ava says.
“I’m about to head home,” Beatrice informs her. “I’ll cook you dinner?”
“Yes, that sounds amazing. Thank you.”
“Okay, see you at home. I love you.”
“Love you too,” Ava says. “Drive safe.”
They rehearsed their scenes with the accent coach again and she worked closely with Lilith. She improved a little but Ava thinks it’s not enough because they are going to start filming in a week. There’s no way she’ll be that good. Last night when she woke up in the middle of the night, she watched some clips of Lilith in her period films and she has a bad British and even Southern accent. And according to her research those films were prepared for months if not years.
“Wait, let me get my iPad,” Autumn says. “There’s this clip that I really want to show you two. It’s the vibe I want to put in the next scene.”
“Okay,” Lilith smiles at her. Ava nods.
“You could be a little sweeter,” Lilith says to Ava.
“What?” she asks once again.
“How far the stick is up Joan of Arc’s ass?”
“Earlier you said I should be stiffer,” Ava tells her.
“It’s a little inconsistent, to be honest,” Lilith shrugs. “Sometimes, you’re very rigid, sometimes, you’re so soft. I don’t know.”
“Exactly,” Ava scoffs. “You don’t know,” she stresses every word.
“Sorry?” Lilith says but it’s a question.
“Can you stop giving me unsolicited advice?” Ava wasn’t able to keep her cool. Her voice raised.
“Whoa, I said I’m sorry,” Lilith waves her hands.
“Just stop, okay? Stop!” Ava exclaims and she immediately regrets it. The staff start to murmur among themselves. Ava decided to walk out to get some air.
“Ava!” she heard Beatrice call.
“Bea?” Ava jogs towards her. “What are you doing here?
“You sounded so upset so I decided to stop by and wait for you to finish,” Beatrice shrugs. “I also remembered you didn’t bring your car. Mary picked you up, right?”
“Gods, I love you so fucking much,” Ava takes her face in her hands and kisses her.
“I love you too,” Beatrice chuckles as they pull away. Ava hugs her.
“Uh, Miss Silva?” an intern approaches them. “Miss de Wilde is looking for you.”
“Yeah, sorry, I’m going back now,” Ava says.
“Okay,” the intern nods and walks away.
Ava contemplates whether to ask Beatrice to come in or send her home. “Come in,” she takes Beatrice’s hand and they walk back.
“Beatrice Young!” Autumn de Wilde exclaims as they walk in.
“Hi,” Beatrice smiles. Autumn hugs her.
“I’m a fan,” she smiles at her.
“Thank you.”
“Why don’t you sit here with me?” Autumn asks.
“I wouldn’t miss learning from you,” Beatrice chuckles. “Good luck,” she whispers to Ava.
“Okay, Lilith and Ava come here and watch this clip first,” Autumn tells them.
Ava immediately got what Autumn wants. She isn’t sure if Lilith did too. She has a weird expression.
“Okay, action,” Autumn says.
Ava and Lilith start exchanging lines. Autumn nods her head for a few moments until she interrupts them with a “cut”.
“Lilith you’re off a little,” Autumn comments. “You should be wooing Joan. You sound a little hostile there.”
“Sorry, I’m a little distracted,” Lilith says.
“Is Beatrice distracting you?”
“I can wait in the car,” Beatrice says.
Ava bits her lip a little to stop on commenting.
“No, it’s fine,” Lilith says. “Let’s go again.”
Beatrice gives Ava a subtle smile and a thumbs up.
She smiles back.
After about thirty minutes, they were done. Ava excuses herself to get her things. Beatrice stays to chat with Autumn de Wilde. When she got a call, Lilith approaches her.
“Hi,” Lilith smiles at her.
“Hi,” Beatrice only nods her head a little.
“So nice of you to show up,” Lilith says.
“I’m just here to pick up Ava,” Beatrice says. “I was just a little early.”
“So, what do you think?”
“About the film?” Bea asks.
Lilith nods.
“I read it with Ava multiple times,” Beatrice says. “It’s nice to see it come to life.”
“You didn’t go back to the gym,” Lilith has her hands clasped behind her back and she’s swaying side by side a little like a schoolgirl admiring the teacher she has a crush on.
“Our home gym was done so I have no reason to,” Beatrice says.
“That’s a shame,” Lilith says. “I could really coach you. Your arms could be more toned,” she reaches out and caresses Beatrice’s arm. Bea flinches and steps back.
“My love!” Ava calls and sprints to them. Lilith steps back with a smirk.
“Let’s go?” Beatrice smiles at Ava.
“Yeah,” Ava nods and Beatrice takes her small duffel bag from her. “Lilith,” Ava narrows her eyes at her a little.
“See you on Monday,” Lilith waves.
When they got into the car, Ava explodes. “That fucking bitch!”
“Ava,” Beatrice tries to calm her down.
“Really? Making a pass at you?” Ava punches the dashboard. “I should kill her!”
“Ava, your hand, let me see,” Beatrice reaches but Ava doesn’t let her.
“I don’t want you visiting me on set anymore,” Ava says.
“Ava, I wouldn’t do anything. You know that,” Beatrice says.
“I know that,” Ava pinches the bridge of her nose. “It’s her that I don’t trust. She’ll do this over and over again and you’ll be too polite to tell her off.”
“Ava…”
“You don’t have to save me, Beatrice,” Ava says. “I could have handled this day on my own.”
“The way you sounded on the call doesn’t say so,” Beatrice tells her. “I had to make sure you’re okay.”
“Sorry,” Ava tells her after a few moments of silence. “I shouldn’t be mad at you. I was the one who told you to come in.”
“You shouldn’t let her get to you like this,” Beatrice takes her hand. “Don’t let her win.”
“You’re right,” Ava sighs. “But I’m serious, don’t visit anymore.”
“As if I would be swayed,” Beatrice chuckles a little. “Her advances are… I don’t want to be a bitch but she is laughable.”
“I just know how she is, Bea,” Ava tells her. “I know she’s too pushy and I don’t want her to make you uncomfortable.”
“Okay, I would not make any casual visits, but if you are not okay, I’m coming,” Beatrice compromises.
“That’s fine,” Ava says. “But if I say I’m okay then it means I’m okay.”
Beatrice nods and kisses her temple.
“Let’s go home,” Ava tells her.
HOLLYWOOD SCOOP!
AVA SILVA THROWS A TANTRUM ON SET
Filming doesn’t even start for the film Joan of Arc starring Ava Silva, Mary Gunn and Lilith Villaumbrosia but it seems like the drama started early.
Sources say that several staff of the film witnessed Silva snap at co-star Villaumbrosia during their rehearsals. It seems like Lilith just wants to exchange some friendly chat but Ava wants none of it. Does Silva think she has more edge than Villaumbrosia because the latter joined the production late?
youngsilva: we all know that bitch Lilith probably antagonizes her on purpose. she’s cray-cray for Bea so she is putting the gf in a bad light
lilithscoven: YIKES!!!
silvasilvasilva: “friendly”? LMAO PLS WE ALL KNOW SHE’S A BITCH
lilithvee: that ava is lucky because Lilith prob is giving her acting advice
notmichael: I have a friend who’s working on that film and she told me that the staff, especially the accent coach and director are very disappointed in Lilith because she sucks hahaha
filmgeeked: This is the first time Ava is accused of such thing. All the people she worked with in the past have nothing but good things to say. Meanwhile Lilith… yeah we all know.
avasilvadefender: it’s Lilith’s fault I’m so sure
“This is not okay,” Beatrice paces back and forth. She saw Ava got quiet suddenly as they are watching a movie and asked her what’s wrong. She showed her the article.
“Hey, aren’t you the one who told me earlier not to let it get to me?” Ava stops her from getting her phone. She knows she’ll say something.
“This is different,” Beatrice huffs. “It’s not some petty thing anymore. She’s out to destroy you.”
“Beatrice, it’s okay, I swear,” Ava looks directly in Bea’s eyes so she knows she means it. “I was just upset for a moment but I’m not anymore. Because I know the truth. And I know that my supporters know I’m not like that.”
“I’m sorry,” Beatrice tells her. “It’s probably my fault. I shouldn’t have gone earlier.”
“You know what?”
“What?”
“I surprisingly don’t care about Lilith anymore,” Ava tells Beatrice.
“Why?”
“While I was in the bath earlier, I rewatched our interview with Oprah and it made me realize something,” Ava embraces Beatrice. “It’s just like what happened the first time and I’m not letting it get to us now. We have come so far. It should be nothing. She’s nothing.”
“You’re right,” Beatrice embraces her tightly. “Of course, you’re right.”
The next morning, Beatrice wakes up Ava very early.
“It’s only 5AM,” Ava groans.
“Get up,” Beatrice kisses her cheek. “You need to pack.”
“For what?”
“We’re going to New York,” Beatrice tells her as she wheels their suitcases to the closet. “We’re spending the weekend there.”
“Can we just spend it in Big Sur or Joshua Tree?” Ava sits up but her eyes are still close.
“I got us tickets for Prima Facie,” Bea pokes her head from the closet. “You want to watch Jodie Comer in Broadway, right?”
“What?” Ava suddenly gets up. “No way!”
“Yes way, so come here and pack your stuff.”
“Please tell me you got us a backstage pass or some shit,” Ava asks.
“Of course I did,” Beatrice chuckles.
“Oh my god! I love you!”
“More than Jodie Comer?”
“Just a little bit,” Ava laughs.
There was a lot of paparazzi in New York but they didn’t care. They walked on the street and central park hand in hand. They went shopping and ate in their favorite restaurant.
“I still can’t believe I get to see Jodie in about an hour,” Ava gushes. “Even though The Last Duel was insufferable, she got me through it. She’s really great at it. I pulled inspiration on the way she portrayed her character in how I tackled Joan of Arc.”
“It’s always nice to hear you gush about acting,” Beatrice smiles. “Your excitement is infectious.”
“Thank you for doing this, my love,” Ava takes her hand and squeezes it.
“Anything for you,” Beatrice grins. “Just don’t rant to her about the ending of Killing Eve. I’m sure she hates it as much as everyone did.”
“Oh, don’t remind me,” Ava rolls her eyes. “The one who wrote it should be in jail right now. So many people have been traumatized. I wish someone would pick it up and redo the whole fourth season.”
“I heard there should have been a fifth,” Beatrice sips her drink.
“Fuckers,” Ava shakes her head.
Suddenly, an idea came to Beatrice. But she kept it in. She wanted to surprise Ava once again.
They both cried a lot during the show. They story was amazing and Jodie Comer was a revelation. Ava is more inspired to do her best in terms of acting. After the curtain closed, someone approached them to escort them backstage.
“Hi,” Jodie Comer greets them.
“Hi,” Ava shakes her hand. “You were so amazing, oh my gosh!”
“Thank you, thank you,” Jodie says. They sit on a couch.
Beatrice greets Jodie too but excuses herself for a moment. She says she’s going to use the restroom.
“I’m such a huge fan,” Ava tells her.
“So am I,” Jodie says. “So glad you were able to see the show.”
“My girlfriend, Beatrice surprised me with tickets,” Ava blushes. “We have had a stressful week. I’m off to shoot next week and she’s off to tour as well.”
“Oh, I’m going to one of her shows,” Jodie says. “I love her new album.”
“Oh, it’s going to be amazing,” Ava tells her.
“I’m very excited actually.”
They chat more about acting for about three minutes. Ava was so into it that she didn’t notice that Beatrice haven’t come back. She enters with Jodie’s agent and they seem to have been talking.
“Hi again,” Beatrice says to Jodie.
“Love, she’s seeing one of your shows,” Ava tells her immediately.
“Really, oh my god, it will be an honor,” Beatrice says.
“I’m glad they were able to use one of your songs for Killing Eve,” Jodie says. “I suggested it.”
“What? I didn’t know that,” Bea says.
“Yeah, but I did suggest ‘Don’t Blame Me’,” she chuckles. “But whatever, you know? It’s still a Beatrice Young song.”
“Miss Comer, your car would be up front in three minutes,” a staff informs her.
“Oh, we should go,” Ava tells her. “Thank you for the time.”
“Good luck on your next shows,” Beatrice says.
“Thank you too,” Jodie smiles at them.
“Bea, where did you go earlier?” Ava asks as they share a bath. They can see the beautiful skyline of New York below them.
“I thought you didn’t notice,” Beatrice chuckles.
“What did you do?” Ava splashes some water towards her.
“I just talked to Jodie’s agent,” Beatrice says. “You know, if I ever wanted to cast her in one of my music videos in the future,” she shrugs.
“I will let you wanting someone else to star in your music video slide if I get to be there too,” Ava says.
“Of course, my love,” Beatrice comes closer and kisses her.
