Assassins in Gaia

Cloud was enjoying himself, his mom had come to Midgar to see him. Zack, Ace and Julian were safe and sound and no longer in the front lines fighting a war. Tifa was running around serving drinks and food with the other waiters and waitresses while Aerith made flower rings for the kids. Desmond and Vincent were together and looked very happy while celebrating his awakening.

Zack nudged him playfully, "That's one very bright smile there spiky."

Cloud grinned, "Everyone I love is here and happy."

Zack looked around, "Yeah!"

Cloud, "Next time, let's invite your parents. You know, they are welcome to join us too, right?"

Zack rubbed his neck, "Yeah, yeah, you are right. We can always house them. Especially, since we are getting a bigger apartment this month."

Cloud nodded enthusiastically, "Right? It even has two extra bedrooms aside from the master bedroom. They can easily stay in one of those bedroom."

Zack nodded and made a plan to invite his parent for the winter solstice party. It was high time he introduced Cloud to his parents. Zack already met Cloud's family, so he should introduce Cloud to his family. In the corner, he could see Genesis sat with Ace talking about his latest drama, Avengers, Zack thinks the name was. Genesis still adored Loveless, but he also enjoyed other works. The redhead had become very fond of the antagonist Loki and would quote his lines.

Lucretia, Sephiroth and Angeal were having a quiet moment in one of the private booths. The two First class SOLDIERs had gone on a private personal investigation while Genesis was at the front lines. When Genesis returned from the front lines, they had not left the redhead alone outside work and the three had very intimate nights together for weeks. The three of them plus Lucretia were currently talking about how to deal with Hojo and Hollander.

A few months ago, the two First Class had gotten to know Cloud and Aerith better. The two young adults had helped them figure out what was happening with their bodies. It was all an accident or sheer dumb luck, that lead to their deterioration being detected by them. Sephiroth had been seeing positive remarks about Cloud as a sniper and wanted to fight him. Angeal was there to ensure they didn't go too far. Cloud recommended fighting outside Midgar to avoid the VR room being destroyed.

Angeal's ears had turned red at that comment and they had followed Cloud outside. They had run into Aerith who had perked up on hearing where they were heading. She had offered her healing services, if they took her along with them. Cloud agreed after talking to Tifa about it, the young Lady agreed under the condition Aerith was kept safe. The fight started and it was interesting to see an unenhanced sniper pitted against an enhanced sword user. Then something went wrong, they were attacked by some strange monsters.

Angeal then witnessed how strong and capable Aerith was with her staff and magic. They managed to deal with the monsters but not before Angeal's shoulder was nicked by one of the monsters. Sephiroth was furious and destroyed them while Aerith tried to heal his shoulder. It was refusing to heal and that made both Aerith and Cloud suspicious while Sephiroth was worried about his mate. Angeal refused to return to Shinra like that and Aerith offered her church.

Once at the church, they started to brainstorm ideas and Aerith then tried other healing techniques. Ace had apparently found a book on magical healing and given it to her as a congratulations gift after she got together with Tifa. Cloud gave an impressed whistle, that was one thick book and one little peek showed detailed diagrams of how mana flowed through the body. Angeal had made a comment of how Genesis would love to study that book and Aerith said he could as long as it was not damaged.

They went through many of the healing spells with the two First class SOLDIERs watching them talk comically. Despite the situation, the two were very amused watching the two youngsters brainstorm through ideas. Tifa had come by after receiving a message from them and was shocked to see Angeal bleeding. She was even more surprised when Aerith told her the healing spells were not working. Tifa had thought before asking Aerith to try the spells for poison.

It's possible the monsters might have poison after all and Aerith agreed, after thinking about it a bit. To all of their surprise and Angeal's relief, the spells meant for poison had an effect. It had invigorated Aerith and she had spammed the anti poison spell till a black goo started to come out of the wound. Sephiroth cursed and went to the pond that was man made to get water to wash. Aerith frowned before she searched for the strongest anti poison spell and used it on Angeal.

Angeal felt the spell wash over him and felt light, like a weight had been removed before he felt vile come up to his mouth. He threw up black coloured goo which killed the plants it landed on and Cloud helped Sephiroth hold Angeal till he was done throwing up. It had taken a good five minutes before Angeal sat down exhausted from the whole thing. When they checked on him, Aerith used the standard heal and the man looked younger than before. They were surprised by the change and Sephiroth was not at all amused.

There was someone messing around with his SOLDIERs and his mates, he was getting to the bottom of it. That had led to a meeting with Vincent and Desmond who were happy to see Angeal. They had a long discussion together and exchanged information. The most shocking for Angeal being Sephiroth also being related to Vincent, not just Hojo and his mother being a Miss Lucretia Crescent, not Jenova. The two had looked at each other and went to meet the woman who was stuck in crystal.

The lovely lady was happy to see him and at the same time sad and feeling guilty for everything that Sephiroth went through. Angeal had then commented Sephiroth got his good looks from his mother which made them smile. It had lightened the atmosphere up a bit and Miss Crescent had calmed down and told them of the things that had happened before Sephiroth's birth. It had made Angeal sick to the stomach and Lucretia didn't blame him for it.

Vincent and Desmond had offered to keep her safe again but only this time no more crazy experiments. Lucretia had laughed saying she had enough experimenting for a lifetime and wanted redemption for her horrible choices. Desmond hummed and said there were many ways to do that and took her to a District south of Rocket town. It was an old district but the orphanage needed help and Lucretia didn't mind the work. Over the months, they kept contact and Lucretia went through the papers Vincent had found.

She was sure Jenova was not a Cetra but something else, she wanted to go back to the past and hit her younger self. Why didn't they think of checking the DNA first? Oh wait! Hojo had done it and announced that creature was an Ancient and a Cetra. She wants to hit him, husband or not, he crossed a line and she was too foolish to notice. She would help her son and not be blinded by her emotions again. And that brought us to the present time where everyone was enjoying a rare day when they were all free.

Cloud, "They are planning something."

Zack, "Who is planning? Desmond? Sephiroth?"

Cloud, "Both of them, Ace has been very excited about it and is looking forward to it."

Zack, "Huh.. Say, is Ace still single?"

Cloud, "Yeah, why?"

Zack, "A few Turks are very interested in him. They really like how he is able to make connections and enter and leave places."

Cloud, "Ah! Yeah, he has his ways. I don't think anyone else can do what he can."

Zack nodded and they enjoyed the rest of night sharing stories about what they had been doing and was going on in their lives. Claudia and Lucretia had hit it off gushing about their sons and their friends. It was a little embarrassing for Cloud but seeing his mom happy he didn't mind, besides she made a friend. Vincent and Desmond retired first followed by the three Generals, then the rest followed. Cloud and Zack left for their apartment with Zack rubbing Cloud's back.Once they were inside Zack pushed Cloud on the wall and kisses him.

Zack, "You looked so adorable today with your bright, happy smile."

Cloud laughed, "Really? That made you want to kiss me senseless?"

Zack, "Yeah, you have no idea, how cute and attractive you are, when you smile."

Cloud, "Mmmm ~ "

Zack's hands were all over Cloud taking his shirt off while Cloud's hands were on his hair. Cloud was massaging Zack's head before running his fingers down Zack's earlobe.
