Redwood's Explanation
“Mom? What do you mean by ‘very very well’?” Mauline asked.
Redwood shook her head and then said, “We used to be close. The scroll that they has? Both of us were the ones who dug it up from the ground. We were going to do good things with it, like heal injuries. But during the night, we had an argument, and then out of nowhere they snatched the scroll and flew off into the night. After that, we talked still, but not as much.”
“Wow.” Mauline said, eyes wide. “I never was told of this.”
“Because it was best that you didn’t know about them, but it turns out it didn’t matter if you knew about them or not…” Redwood trailed off.
Cloud put her wing on her mate.
“Oh.” Mauline said quietly. She glanced over at Storm/Rose. “Well, that is a bit true, that last part.”
“Yeah, I know.” Redwood replied.
And, for what seemed like forever, there was silence.
Storm/Rose broke the silence, “Well, if we want them to stop harassing others we need to stand!”
“Look, what I said happened 30 years ago.” Redwood said.
“Oh… Well this is happening now.” Storm/Rose said
“I know this is happening now!” Redwood suddenly snapped, then she went inside the nest, Cloud rushing behind her.
“Woah, what was that about?” Storm said
“Yeah, when Mom gets mad watch out cuz she’s volcanic.” Mauline said
“Well I guess we should leave her alone then. What now?” Storm asked
“MAULINEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!” A streak of black and rainbow bowled into mauline.
“Hi, Opal.” Mauline groaned. Being bowled by Redwood and Opal was not fun.
Storm jumped back “WHO’S THERE”
“This is my old friend Opal. We’ve known each other for years.” Mauline said.
Opal said, “Hiiiiii! Nice to meet you! What is your name?”
Mauline shifted and Opal squealed as she fell off of her.
“That,” Mauline said, “Is Rose. Rose, meet Opal.”
Meanwhile…
The Big Boss roared his anger as he found both Mauline and Storm gone.
He had found in Mauline’s room her necklace on the ground.
And in Storm’s room, he found her necklace on the ground.
Galaxy rushed into Storm’s room after the Big Boss had roared in genuine fury.
“Big Boss? Is there something wrong?” Galaxy asked.
“NO! THEY’RE BOTH GONE!” The Big Boss whirled around.
“W-what?! How are they gone!?” Galaxy flicked her icy blue wings back.
“I mean it; they are gone. They’re necklaces are on the floors of their bedrooms.” The Big Boss snapped and went to where the scroll was.
He tore off a piece of it and wrote on it,
Enchant this item to tell me where Storm the RainWing Female and Mauline the SeaWing LeafWIng Female Hybrid no matter where they are.
He then put the piece of scroll into an book cover and it showed, Mauline’s hut. Redwood the SeaWing went inside the hut with a LeafWing.
“Redwood’s Maulines mother, huh? Well, then, she doesn’t deserve the power I gave her. But…it would break Redwood’s heart, so…I guess that overweighs that.” The Big Boss said.
Back with Mauline, Storm/Rose and Opal
“Hi” Storm/Rose said suspiciously
“Hi!! It is so nice to meet you Rose! Hey! Your name…That is my late sisters name, nice…” Opal suddenly trailed off and she closed her eyes.
“Oh! I’m sorry.” Strom/Rose said solemnly
“Oh, it is OK. Any way, she died 12 years ago. I was 1 year old at that time. Though, she was only 6 months old." Opal said sadly opening her eyes.
“Yeah, I’m so sorry to hear that.” Storm/Rose said
“Like I said, it is OK.” Opal said, seeming like she was trying to lighten the mood, even though her eyes gave her emotions away.
“Um, anyways…” Storm/Rose said to redirect the conversation
Flap...flap...FLAP...FLAPP!
"What is that?" Opal said suddenly.
The Big Boss said "There you two are. I was wondering where you’ve gone off too.”
Storm looked up at the boss “RUN!” she yelled.
Opal stood where she was, not seeming afraid.
“Ohh, right” Storm said as she shot poison at the boss.
The Big Boss hissed in fury as he neatly dodged the poison. “Hmmm…” The Big Boss flicked his tail and soon necklaces were on Mauline Opal and Storm.
Opal fell silent, and so did Mauline.
Storm does too for a second but she doesn’t fall emotionless. What is going on? She thought to herself.
Hi, again!! A magic necklace floated in the lands of her mind.
Go away! She screamed at the necklace
Sorry, no can doooo! Tee-hee! The necklace floated ever more closer.
No, I can’t fall for this again! She shoots poison at the necklace and runs.
Outside…
The Big Boss says, “Now then, shall we go?”
“Yes! Of course!” Mauline said.
Opal said, “mhm! No problem, boss!”
Storm snapes out of her mind, normal. “Uh, YES, uh, sir” Storm says confused.
“Then, let’s go!” Opal chirped happily.
“Yep!” Mauline said as she flapped to be beside the boss.
Storm noticed a shimmer on both of their necks. The necklaces! That’s why they’re acting so weird! She thought to herself.
The Boss led them back to the base.
“Storm?” The Boss asked.
Storm looked at the boss with as little emotion as she could, “Yes Boss?”.
The boss looked at her suspiciously.
Storm quickly realized she was supposed to have emotions, “Heh, heh” She chuckled, “Just kidding boss! I’m just getting bored flying for so long”
“Ah, that is agreeable. Could you go and tell the other villains that we are back?” The Big Boss asked, well, more like ordered in this case.
“Of course boss! I’ll be right back!” Storm said with false cheerfulness.
Storm’s Point of View
A seawing, a villain no doubt, came up.
“Ah, did the Big Boss send you?” The SeaWing asked.
Storm immediately recognized this SeaWing as the infamous villain Luna. Storm worked with him only once and that one time she betrayed him. “Uhhh, Hi! Yes, the boss told me to tell you that we are back. With new people even!”
“Mmm. What’s your name?”
“My name is Storm! Don’t you remember me?”
“Hmmm never met anyone named Storm before… Yeah sorry I don’t”
“That’s ok, its probably for the best anyway” Storm said hopeful
The SeaWing squinted his eyes and said, “Come with me”
“Uh, ok” Storm said suspicious.
They went to a secret part of the place and he said, “I know that you are pretending to be under the boss’s control. Hush, I am on your side, I have been with him too long he gets on my nerves.”
“Yeah, and him being evil and all that. So, does that mean you actually remember me?”
“Huh? No I don’t. I just knew that you were faking. So I thought we could team up against him.” Luna said.
“Phew,” Storm said thankful.
