Danger

Once we were by the motel, i asked the men to take the car for a gas run before we leave, also making it explicitly sure for them to get a map. Im still thinking whether we leave now or by tomorrow sunlight. We were by the living room, organizing the food we have as the kids played with their dolls. They wouldve been watching TV but then again, all the TV showed was static. We were done by the the men were back. I gathered all the adults around, briefing them on my plan.

I wasnt gonna risk our safety, so i planned that we leave tonight, but before that we should get some food first. They all agreed with the plan, and we were getting ready to leave. We made sure that we didnt leave anything, leaving the place like how it was when we arrived. "Dad, where are we going now?" Amilia mumbled, holding her father's hand. Joey looked at me for answers but i only shook my head. "Lets get some dinner first honey." Joey said to her softly to which she only nodded at.

It hurted to see the once bubbly and outgoing Ami become shy and quiet, The Aime that was once nice and shy now all drained from the things that were happening around her. "Lets eat lots today, we're having a feast!" Evan said to atleast lift the mood. I cheered, and the others followed, Evan's attempt working.

Considering we were in a town, there were alot of options for us to eat at. Ranging from fastfood to buffets. The town we were at was bustling at night, you'd think that everything was alright. I settle the kids down the table, letting Joey sit beside them, while i sat with the others. We were at a 4 star restaurant. Evan really didnt hold back, he orded the most expensive foods possible, talk about a show off. I roll my eyes playfully at the show of wealth.

He also ordered the girls favorite foods, as they were contemplating what to get. He even ordered takeouts that would last awhile. Joey looked like he was contemplating as soon as he saw the bill the waitress handed him. Once i saw the price, i widen my eyes, Evan was THIS rich to afford this?

Once Evan took a look at the receipt, he only sighed quietly. Alaina seemed to notice the expression on his face, in a flash, Alaina gave the waitress her card and said "Please prepare the foods fast, we're having a celebration." She smiled at the waitress, obviously shook about the card she was holding. I mean, who wouldnt be? Even i was shocked, considering it was a fucking black card!

Evan only looked at her in astonishment, "You're THAT rich?" She wailed, shaking her head before saying "No no, thats just the card my parents gave me. They somehow always tell me to atleast spend atleast teeny bit." I laughed, i know her parents and what they mean by a teeny bit is alot than what they imply. They like to live extravagantly, how they manage to do that is what i dont know and i dont care.

The food didnt take long to be served, as food after food filled our table. The waitress said that they were still cooking the takeouts we ordered. They also gave us a free wine to go considering we ordered alot. The twins eyes twinkled, the food looked astonishingly good. "Its their first time in this kind of restaurant, they're really excited. Thank you." Joey said giving us a grateful smile. "Then lets make it a night to remember!" Alaina cheered, holding up her glass as we did the same, even the twins did and we all clinked our glasses.

One of the waitresses approached us, giving us a bow before saying "Extinguished guests, would you like for a photo to be taken? Every photo we take, we put it up on a board to show to possible guests." We all exchanged looks before smiling at her, "Is it possible for us to also have an extra photo of it?" Alaina said and the waitress nodded her head.

"Say cheese!" The photographer said and we all said cheese, giving the biggest smile we all could muster. "Righttt, and done! Please wait for it to be printed, it wont take long." They said and they left. We continued on eating, chit chatting here and there, sharing a few laughs as well. The night was going nicely. Soon the photographer and the waitress arrived, giving us our order and the photo they took for us. We all looked happy, not a worry visible in our face.

We were almost done eating, when we saw people running in the opposite direction. I stood up immediately, taking the takeout bags, and they followed what i did. Joey took Ami in his arms while Evan carried Aime. Ezekiel stood defensively in the doorway, making sure no zombies were heading our way. He gave us a sign and we went out in sync, our footsteps fast.

Joey made sure his daughters were inside first before sitting down, and hugging them protectively, holding the twins ears to atleast muffle the noise. As soon as Alaina and Evan went inside the car, one of the meat eating monsters moved our way, and they were horrifyingly fast. I make my towards the zombie, giving it a hard kick on the neck, knocking it out. Its not enough to kill them but enough to knock them back.

I grunted in pain, i mustve strained it because of the force i used. I limped back in pain, opening the car door when suddenly, someone grabbed me. I didnt even have to look, i knew it by the smell of blood. I take the hand that was holding me and twisting it on their back, kicking them away from the car. I immediately opened the door, getting inside and Ezekiel immediately drove us off. There were alot of people screaming running away, so it was hard to get across.

Ezekiel backed up, and swerved the car backwards. He was driving us into another road, thank god we familiarized ourselves with the roads. We drove off in a less crowded road, there were still people running away, but it was less in this road considering its mostly isolated.
