Chapter 1
Danica gathered all the courage in her body and walked towards her mother. "Mom, can I go to Diagon Alley? Please?"
"What? No!" Her mother answered, outraged. "Let's just hand you to Black ourselves!"
"But all my friends are going, why can't I?" Danica moped
"Look, Luna's father believes in the most ridiculous things, he probably gave Luna some weird earrings that supposedly drive Black away"
"But Val's parents?"
"Um, well, I guess you can go-"
"Yes!" Danica started dancing around the room
"You didn't let me finish." Her mother said seriously, "You can go IF I come with you."
"Oh-" Danica stopped celebrating, "Well I guess it's better than not going."
Danica ran to her room and sat down at her desk to write letters to her friends, Luna and Valerie.
"Dear Luna,
my mother let me go! Only if she comes with me sadly. But atleast I can come! Meet me in front of Olivander's tomorrow?
Lo See you soon,
Danica."
And she sent a similar message to Valerie. Then she went to bed and fell asleep.

Danica threw off her sheets, her cat protested. "Sorry, but today's Diagon Alley day!" She put on her clothes and went downstairs, ate her breakfast, and she was ready, her mother gave her the floo powder and away she went.
Her mother came after her and they walked to Olivander's, and there stood Luna and Val. Danica ran to them and hugged them.
"Shall we get ice cream?" Val asked.
"Let's!" The others said in union. So they got their ice cream and started shopping all day, laughing and talking. Somewhere around 3pm Danica split from the others for a tiny bit to get her new robes, her current ones were to small.
Danica sat at the back of the shop, waiting. When a girl was brought in, she looked around a year younger than Danica.
"Hi! I'm Ginny Weasley" said the girl
"I'm Danica Gilbert." She replied
"My robes were to small, so here I am" Ginny attempted to strike a conversation
"Mine too"
This awkward talk went on for a while, until Danica had to leave. "Well, see you at hogwarts Ginny?"
"See you at hogwarts." She smiled
