Chapter 2
It was September 1st. Danica held her trolley firmly and ran into the wall between the muggle platform and platform 9 and three-quarters, her mother following shortly afterwards. Further along the platform, Luna waved and ran towards Danica.
"Danica! How are you?" Luna asked excitedly.
"I'm amazing now that you're here! What about you?" Danica answered smiling.
"Same for me" Luna winked.
"Has Valerie arrived yet?" Danica asked.
"Yup," Luna nodded, "She's already on the train"
Just then, Valerie popped her head out of the door and shouted that she could find a compartment. So Danica said bye to her mother and got on the train with Luna. After a few minutes of searching, they came across Ginny.
"Hey! Ginny! Can we sit with you?" Danica asked.
"Yes, of course!" Ginny answered.
"This is Ginny," Danica explained to the confused faces, "I met her when I was getting fitted for my new uniform."
"I'm Valerie Lumer, a second year" Valerie smiled.
"And I'm Luna Lovegood, a second year! Wait, aren't you the girl who got possessed by He Who Must Not Be Named last year?"
"Um...y-yeah" Ginny said uncomfortably, "He was in my diary."
"Well, could have happened to anyone." Danica said, trying to make Ginny feel more comfortable.
"Mhm!" Luna said, understanding what she said.
Then, the door to their compartment opened and a dementor came in, sniffed around, and left again, leaving everyone shocked and staring at the door.
"Was that a dementor!?" Valerie asked, panicking slightly.
"I think so!" Danica answered, "I think the Ministry of Magic sent them to protect the school from Sirius Black."
Ginny groaned. "Why couldn't he just have stayed in Azkaban. It would have been so much easier for all of us."
