Day ten (Darcy/Sif)
“This is nice.” Darcy shuffles nervously while Sif looks around. “It’s not much compared to how you live on Asgard but it’s home.” Darcy shrugs and finally closes the door behind them.
Yesterday the Warriors Three and the lady Sif unexpectedly came to Midgard to celebrate the holiday of Christmas with Thor and his friends. That’s the official story at least. In reality the Hogun, Fandral and Volstagg just wanted to have a feast and spend time with Thor while Sif wanted to spend time with her girlfriend.
Darcy and Sif had gotten together during their time on earth. Unfortunately the rules as Odin told them where unchanged. Midgardians are not very welcome in Asgard so Thor and Sif spend as much time as possible on Midgard. Darcy and Jane had accepted the rules and became much closer friends for it. They spend most of their time together as friends instead of boss and intern and they were both happier. Off course they would always missed their significant others but they always looked forward to the reunion.
Since Darcy hadn’t expected her girlfriend to be able to spend the holiday with her she had decided to go home to her parents for the week and celebrate Christmas with the family. So now she had, ad Sif’s insistence, brought Sif along. Luckily her parents weren’t home at the moment but it still felt awkward.
Sif turned to look at Darcy with a smile. “It is home. And it’s a wonderful home. These photographs speak of much time together and much love between all of you. It’s a great sentiment and a tradition that would not go amiss on Asgard.” Darcy steps forward and wraps her arms around the taller woman. “When you say it like that… Yeah.” She mumbles feeling slightly embarrassed.
After a couple of minutes Darcy steps back again but takes Sif hands as a concession to the loss of contact. “Do you want to see my room? It’s the same room I had as a teenager so it’s old fashioned and you’ll have to forgive me for my taste.” She giggles and drags Sif with her upstairs to her old bedroom. She is surprised to see the open door and when she walks in she immediately notices Ella the cat laying on top of the door. “Ella!” She lets go off Sif’s hand and stands on her tiptoes to pet the cat’s tail. “This is Ella. Ella this is Sif.” She introduces the two.
Sif watches fondly and after the introduction she steps up behind Darcy and settles one hand on her waist while the other easily reaches for Ella. “This is a very sweet cat.” Sif watches as the cat stands up and begins to stretch. When Ella starts looking for a way down Sif picks her up and settles her against her chest. Ella curls up, purring at the attention.
Darcy smiles at the two of them and joins in to pet Ella. She had missed her. Ella’s ears turn back as they hear people entering the house while bantering. “Oh god, my brother is already here.” Darcy whines but her smile belies her fondness. “We should go downstairs then?” Darcy nods and skips ahead. When she sees her mother she walks faster before falling into the woman’s arms. They whisper before she turns to her father and hugs him too. Her brother receives a smack on the head and then a hug as well before they all turn to Sif.
“So uhm, this is Sif. She’s my girlfriend and also an Asgardian, you know like Thor.” Darcy mutters. Thankfully her mother just comes forward and pulls Sif into a warm hug. Her father and Sif only shake hands and her brother just waves but Sif is smiling like everything is great. And maybe it is. “Welcome to the family.”
