Day Four (Darcy/Tony)

“Tony what the hell?!” Darcy shouts after entering the small room. The walls of the room are covered, literally covered with books. “Ouch, not so loud woman.” Tony grouches back as he follows her inside. They are in the old Stark mansion and Tony hasn’t set food in this place in years. If it was up to him he wouldn’t set foot in this place ever again but Darcy had asked and he couldn’t deny her anything.

He looked around, it’s been a very long time since he’s been here but he still remembers it from before. Back then his parents were still alive and he loved his mother and hated Howard. Ugh, he shakes his head to clear the memories and focuses on the seemingly unorganised room.

Darcy is in the middle of the room, fingers trailing over the covers as she reads the titles. He face is pinched in a combination of concentration, wonder and awe. It’s a beautiful sight. He remember being in the room with his mother, before Howard had told him the room was off limit, and a warm heaviness settles in his heart.

He walks over to her and embraces her from behind, burying his face in her hair. “Are you okay Tony?” Darcy’s voice is soft and filled with concern. She lowers her arms and leans back into him. “Babe?” Tony presses a gentle kiss into her neck and smiles. “Lots of memories here. But I’m fine.” Darcy leans forward again and turns to face him. She cups his face and kisses his lips. “Do you want to leave again? You don’t need to do this Tony.” His smile widens and he leans his forehead against hers. “It’s not as bad as I thought it would be. Besides,” Tony grins and steps back, “I promised to get you anything you want.” His smile turns smug and he twirls around, having an idea where the book that they’re looking for is.

Darcy is watching him with a fond smile. It’s hard to imagine that this is the man who screwed around with as many women as possible while trying to make all the headlines. The press still presents him as a wildcard but Darcy knows better then that. She has seen him at his best and at his worst and she loves all of him.

“Tada.” The voice breaks her from her thoughts and smiles as Tony gives her the book with a wide smile. “Here you go honey; a first edition as you wished for.” He says proudly and she takes the book with reverence. It’s old and delicate but the cover is beautiful. She beams at her man and steps forward, pulling him into a tight embrace. “Love you baby.” She whispers before proceeding to kiss him thoroughly.
