Day One (Clint/Darcy)
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” She gives him an incredulous look and looks over to Natasha, who is off course laughing her ass off. Clint however looks totally nonplussed as he stands there with the sculpture. “You’ve said yourself that you love it.” Clint says, sounding exasperate (it was the perfect gift after all, he had considered a lot of options and this was definitely perfect for her).”That doesn’t mean that you should steal it for me.” She pinches the bridge off her nose to ward off the headache that she felt coming. “But it fits perfectly on your dressoir.” Clint pouts and that’s just unfair. She can’t help but give him an affectionate peck on the cheek before turning to Natasha. “I can’t believe you let him do this.” It’s ridiculous and theft to boot, usually Natasha is smart enough to stop Clint before he gets into trouble.
Natasha walks over to the younger woman and squeezes her hand. “I know he’s an idiot but he did good.” She smiles indulgently at Clint before turning and walking away, still smiling.
“Clint?” She looks at him now. When he had shown up with the sculpture she hadn’t taken him seriously but if Natasha has given her blessings then maybe, probably, he didn’t steal it. Clint just gives her a font smile and walks over to the dressoir to put it down. “Merry Christmas babe.” He tells her as he returns to her side and wraps an arm around her. For the first time she really watches the artwork and she has to admit that it looks beautiful there. Clint nudges her softly and she leans into him.
“It’s not the one we saw at the museum. I just took a picture off it and went to a young local artist to make something inspired by it.” He explains and her smile widens. She turns into his arm so she can wrap both her arms around him and looks into his eyes. “Thank you.” She whispers before leaning in and kissing him.
