Day Two (Darcy & Jane & Erik)
They have been in London for three months now and the space elves have been defeated and the cleanup is done. With Thor lost, again, there isn’t much to do for Darcy but to follow Jane around in the lab for Science! It’s different now, they are much closer then before and they have the shared responsibility of taking care off Erik. Off course it’s mostly Darcy that’s taking care off Erik while Jane gets lost in Science! but that was to be expected.
Life is fairly good for a while as Jane regains her confidence and Erik gets used to wearing pants again (honestly, it’s a relief!). So when December comes around Darcy uncovers a Christmas tree, an ugly plastic one but it will do, from a convenience store and starts decorating. It brightens the place up a bit and even Erik seems to smile a bit more often.
Since the decorations are a success it is only natural the presents are the next step so begins to prepare both scientist for an outing to the centre of London. Preparations can only get you so far though, so off course on the day itself both scientist have forgotten and Darcy has to drag them away with the threat of cutting them off of coffee.
“Look.” She points at the large decorated tree in the city centre, feeling happy and warm as she is supposed to around Christmas time. She is giddy and bouncing around while she drags Jane and Erik from store to store. Thankfully Jane is becoming more enthusiastic as they go along and soon they have five shopping bags full of clothes, presents and decorations.
Erik is not used to being in public anymore so after three hours they give in. Seeing the older man becoming more redrawn is not their idea of a good time so they walk over to the metro to be home a little quicker. Besides, their feet hurt so it’s not like they actually want to walk.
It’s when they walk the last part home that Darcy stops them, looking shocked. “Oh my Thor! You’ve got to be kidding me.” She exclaims as she seemingly stares into the distance. “What?” Jane asks, concern showing on her face as she turns to her friend. “They lied.” Darcy exclaims and points to the telephone cells. “It’s nothing like the BBC said it would be.”
