A Fish Out of Water

The bustling of a busy city in the bright days of a peaceful summer. Something that was always marked as a day of good fortune. One of prosperity and joy that was spread and shared among the masses all throughout the world as they knew it. Even when their world was filled with powers beyond wildest imaginations. A world where pirates and villains roamed the world but the heroes and marines were always there to stop them.

On days like this it was hard to believe that just over a year ago the war of the best was settled at the legendary base of Marineford. The fierce battles between the White Beard Pirates trying to save their crewmate and the Marines who dubbed him a villain before he was even born. Neither side truly one, but after that day so much had changed. Territories that Edward Newgate had protected were targeted and conquered, or even destroyed by pirates and marines alike. Forces of the Marines had become so scattered and thin that they lost there hold of the peace they sought for. But as it always has been, the people pressed for ward.

And on days such as this, they remember the dangers of the world and the success and failings of the heroes and marines.

"Top story today: A fleet of pirate ships off the coast of Japan has once again been found in pieces." A perky reporter had chimed as she informed the citizens with the afternoon news. "Like the many before in the past few months, they been involved in all sorts of smuggling and trafficking. All hostages had been saved and locations of previous victims had been revealed with the heroes and marines mobilizing. But when police had question the surviving crew about who was responsible they responded they sames as the others before. 'All was fine until the sea began to slash at their ships.' The only thing they could recall clear enough was that this vigilante was that the claimed to see that he had fangs and stripes.

'Many of the people this person had saved have dubbed him a hero. Even giving the man the epithet Tiger the Sea Dragon. Heroes and Marines alike are still an the hunt for the illusive vigilante but one thing is for sure. All people we've interviewed are on his side.' The reporter finished their story, the station soon changing to golf for some reason. Which honestly lost the viewers attention since they didn't really care for sports these days.

Somewhere out there, stood a tall figure towering over the average man. The figure couldn't help but develop a large grin of satisfaction as he watched the news broadcast. Without much of a notice he grabbed his bag and kept on walking, no real destination in mind. All he knew is that he had a mission to do, and not enough time to do it in.

~Elsewhere~

Deep into the darkest reaches of the ocean, filled monstrous beings of fish no one has yet to see. No light, no warmth. Only shadows and mysterious as far as the eyes can not see. Schools of strange fish swam away in frenzy as they felt a disturbance around them. Their instincts screaming at them that they were in the way. In the way of what?

A lone figure, a body not so different than a human, glided through the ominous waters with ease. Covered in darkness, save for a wide fanged smile that glistened with the little light able to shine down in the depths. Humming a happy little tune to himself as he swam passed the deep sea creatures that many only ever see in books.

"Your father always told me his home was beautiful." A voice came to his mind, his grin changing as it did. "Fish-Man Island. Even as a little girl I wanted to see it, but I don't think I would be welcomed there. So when you get there, please take a picture for me."

'I promise, Mom.' He smiled to himself, filled with determination. 'I'll get you the best damn photos! No! I'll make you an entire album!'

The figured gained even more speed, soaring through the waters so fast that he scared the shit out of the fish he passed. Literally, which isn't all the all much different than usual for them cause well the live in the ocean and they don't exactly have bathrooms. Why are we talking about this anyway?

After what seemed like hours, a bright mysterious light pierced its was through the undersea darkness. The figure couldn't help but stop and marvel at the wonders before him as he watched the world around illuminate. Hundreds of sea creatures swarmed around the monstrous roots that dug into the seafloor. The Shining lights that made it seem as if the sun was right over head bouncy along the outer layer of a gigantic bubble the poised over everything. If he had the foresight to bring a water proof camera that could survive the pressure this deep in the sea he would snapped his first picture then and there.

"Absolutely magnificent." He smiled as toothy grin as he continued to swim through the waters towards his destination. Clutching his chest that beard the symbol of a long since passed hero of the sea. "I wonder what he would've said to me if he were still alive." He couldn't help but give a dry chuckled as his smile grew more solemn.

"Do you always talk to yourself?" His peaceful mind was broken from its focus thanks to a very rude bloke who decided to be in.

Turning around he was met face to fin with a group of fish-man, riding atop some kind of sea-king that looked like a like a giraffe for some reason. It made him wonder how they were able to sneak up on him with that giant thing but considering he was so enamored by the sight of the kingdom it made sense.

There were three people in the saddle of the thing. One a rather tall individual tat tried to emulated a certain gangster vibe. The other to his left fit a more tribal theme with his frills and manic grin that unsettled him slightly. And finally to his right, resided a octopus-merman chugging down some booze from a gourd and carrying a sword on his hip. Though that also begged the question how exactly drink underwater actually worked.

"Its rude to stare you know, youngster." He let off a toothy grin as the boy before him stayed silent. "What? Catfish got your tongue?"

"You all look SO COOL!" He yelled out with a childlike innocence and stars in his eyes.

The trio were very taken aback by this sort of reaction. For one, it was like the kid had never seen another fish-man before. It did not help that he was currently swimming around them and spewing out so many questions about them they couldn't keep track. It took a minute but the guy was able to calm down enough for a somewhat normal conversation.

"Sorry about. Never met any other fish-man before so I was getting a bit excited." He nervously scratched his head. "Oh? Where are my manners? My name is Izuku Midoriya." He said giving off the friendliest smile known to man.

"That honestly *hic* sounds really weird *hic* kid." The octopus man said through his drunken state.

"Well I grew up on the surface on a small island. No one other than marines and some pirates would come around, though likely changed since I heard a new resort was being built there." Izuku mused as he was now for some reason hovering upside-down. "Heck, most of the islanders I grew up with never really realized I was a fish-man until my teen years." He chuckled, making them very confused.

"You are one strange little man. If it was so nice then why'd you leave? bet those miserable vermin just threw you out the moment they realized what you were."

"Oh, no. I'm just a traveler like my old man was. Swimming the great blues all over the world making new friends and stopping some bad guys." He smiled a toothy grin, showing off his serrated teeth. "Well that was what my mother always said he was before he died. She also told me about a tattoo he had so I figured I'd get the same. After all she always called me her little sunshine." He said gesturing to the marking on his chest, making the men before him eyes widen in shock.

"Anyway. Nice talking to ya!" He said as he started swimming away. "I got places to be and pictures to take!"

He spoke quick as he legs pumped through the water, creating small shock waved that sent them back with every step. Leaving the still shocked squad behind

"Oh, boy! Should we go after him boss?" The frilled fish-man asked readying his spear

"Oh, boy! Should we go after him boss?" The frilled fish-man asked readying his spear.

"Nah. No point in messing with the crazies." He shrugged with a sigh. "Besides its not like he'll get far. Once the townsfolk see the symbol of the Sun Pirates he'll be chased out to the district. Maybe the captain can have him join our cause." He chuckled as they went back their merry way.

~With Izuku~

"Glad that didn't take too long. No idea how long I would've lasted being around them." His smile dropped slightly. "The aura those guys were giving off was disgusting. The way they talked about humans just proved my theory on them." His fists clenched, his claws drawing blood in his anger. "And those bastards had the gal to do THAT to my father's mark. It's unforgivable!" He yelled out, remembering the sight of their jolly roger.

The pure hatred he felt at the sight of symbol of his father's dreams being so casually defaced by such vermin left his mind in a frenzy. The fact they had the gall to steal it made him see red. The sun rim of the original marking being around the shape of a crossed out decapitated human head made his skin crawl.

"I swear on my father's name! The name of FISHER TIGER! I will bring them down!" He growled, his aggressive aura causing the wildlife to flee

"I swear on my father's name! The name of FISHER TIGER! I will bring them down!" He growled, his aggressive aura causing the wildlife to flee. After a moment or two, he managed to calm himself down enough to were he wouldn't scare anyone else.

Having finally reaching the outskirts of the giant bubble around the kingdom, which was even more beautiful up close from what he could see, he was now faced with a bigger problem. How the hell was he going to get inside? To be fair when you think of Fish-Man Island you wouldn't really be expecting a giant bubble so he likely wouldn't have to go through much trouble to get in. An outpost with guards was the most he figured he'd need to go through. So all he needed to was find one.

"Well, as the great forgetful fish of the once said 'just keep swimming'!" He laughed dryly as he went around trying to find a place to enter. Last thing he wanted was leave a bad impression by getting in illegally.

While he was swimming, he couldn't help but watch that outskirts from down bellow. Taking a curious look of a giant ark that resided not far from the run down village. Paying it no mind for now he went back to swimming around to find a checkpoint entrance to get in through. Then there was something that immediately captured his attention. Something not far from him that was reflecting light. It looked like......an ax?

"What the heck?" He asked before zooming over to the soar battle weapon. Luckily his Ocean Step technique was perfect for this situation. So he caught up with it and smashed it to pieces. "Wouldn't have want that to keep moving. Someone could've been hurt. I wonder who was thinking this was a good idea?" He asked, looking over one of the pieces of the shattered thing. Decorated with a rose at its center.

Suddenly, his body was shock with a sense of danger. Telling him to dodge as a swarm of arms glided past him. Swords, axes, arrows and canon balls all flying in the same direction as the previous weapon he stopped.

"OH HELL NO!!!" He yelled as he quickly followed behind them. Swimming as fast as he could to catch up with them before he caught a glimpse at something.

Atop the giant bubble that contained the country of Fish-Man Island, sat a much smaller but still grand sphere. Inside the shining glass-like orb resided a marvelous castle. Unlike any he had seen before, which wasn't much since he's only seen like three and two of those were from cartoons. But the most distinguishing detail of it was the magnificent golden dragon perched above the structure.

"Shenron?" He asked calmly, before shaking it away to refocus on his task. "Defense first! Architecture later!"

He towards the projectiles, grabbing hold of on of the swords and using its momentum to slash at a cannonball. The two remaining halves soon exploded, sending him back and surely alerting some guards.

Recovering quickly from the blast, he refocused on remaining onslaught of weapons. With the somewhat intact sword in hand he went after them. All the while wondering how that fiery explosion actually worked underwater but he didn't need to think about it. Clenching the sword in his hand as he used Ocean Step to blast himself into the shower weapons.

"Sea Dragon...." He took a breath as he aimed his blade. "FANGED WHIRL!!!!" The sea around him twisted into a spiral of energy. Slashing at everything around it and cause the remaining canon balls to explode, which in turn destroyed even more of the other surrounding weapons.

"Okay. Maybe that was overkill." Izuku chuckled to himself as he reorganized himself after the blast. "Well I better leave before-"

"FREEZE!" He was cut off as a loud voice made itself heard. Looking behind him was was now face to fin with a small platoon of what seemed to be guards and/or soldiers. "Identify yourself! NOW!" The lead soldier yelled out.

"I come in peace!" Izuku yelled out response, raising his hands in his defense. "Oh, shit!" he yelled, narrowly dodging a trident that was swung at him. "I don't want any trouble!" He swam away trying to escape.

"GET HIM!!!"

'This has been one hell of a first impression.'
